In addition, her charisma and warm-heartedness that sweeps everyone away. She is the best female singer in the world. And there were not 8300 but 82000 people there 😉😁🤘

Most be a glory to have a lead singer you can use to this level as a instrument in creating music..that said "best of the world" in any creative thing is always abit iffy... In 2013 I was working for a PMC assigned to work with one of our German counter parts. Had the next few days off, a friend asked if I wanted to see this band Nightwish? I had no idea who that was, but said sure. OMFG it completely drained me, pschologically speaking I was in a very dark place after 23 years total Professiona Military and at that point 3 years with a PMC. I have used her music to help veterans suffering from various issues, mental or physical. It was my hope she could help them the way she helped me. She did. Something in this woman heals the mind the more you allow her in. You don't forget, you do overcome. You don't just survive, you can thrive through the darkness, if you have a light (Floor was my light). I've since retired, though I have done what I could to assist those fighting in Ukraine. Thank you Floor, Nightwish.

Not 8,300 it was over 82,000. Floor Jansen ( Yansen ). She was with the band about 10 months before Wacken. This was first major venue. Almost all there were seeing her with the band fore the first time. There is a great Documentary titled, " Please Learn The Set List In 48 Hours ", about Floor's start with the band. Hi Sam, it had been 82,000 people at Wacken in 2013. A village in northern Germany population or almost 2,000 humans, lot of cows and so on. Once a year this is where the biggest metal festival happens. LOL. Stay safe dear.
Very few bands can give you a whole concert in a single song, and nobody does it better than Nightwish. The whole band are top quality. When people are carried above the crowd, it's called Crowd Surfing. One of many things people do at concerts like this one.
Hello Samantha Lisa. I have some info on Floor Jansen for you here. She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have a daughter. ( Freja ) Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish. Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. As if all this isn't impressive enough, consider that she had never sung for an audience this large before 82,000+ people, combine that with having only two weeks to learn the twenty song set-list and this was song number eighteen in the queue. and she's not the only musical athlete, what about the drummer just killin it at that pace, mad props to him, his performance was really impressive.
Floor had been with the band for 10 months at this concert. When she was asked to join the band in mid US tour, she had 48 hours to learn the setlist. She learned it on the flight over from the Netherlands and was on stage that evening. Jukka is by far my favorite drummer I have seen. To emphasize, 10 months at being with the band is not long, especially at the level of perfection expected of and by this band...and she nailed it. Still love to see all the smiles from Floor and every member of the band during and since this concert. Definitely magical.

Lovely reaction to one of Nightwish's masterpieces. While Floor had only been with the band about 10 months here she had been a singer in bands for over 10 years at this point and in fact had toured with Nightwish as an opening act with her first band After Forever so she was familiar with some of Nightwish's songs. Next I would recommend Storytime or Song of Myself from the same concert. Both epic songs. Also checkout some of her solo stuff. Her singing Shallow or the Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort from Beste Zangers will also blow you away. Last my favorite song that Floor sings, Sweet Curse from her second band ReVamp. There is a lovely live video of the song with Henk Poort from her solo show in Amsterdam last September. So beautiful, emotional and intimate.

Yes Floor has studied, and is exceptionally trained... However, she is also blessed with raw natural ability that's rarely seen. She has hands down the most expressive and versatile voice I've ever heard, and it's largely due to the way she is emotionally invested in the performance. There are many great voices in the world, but the combination of her voice and her method of performance make her essentially super-human.

Wacken, Germany is a small town (roughly 9000 people) that sets aside space for the festival Wacken Open Air that can host upwards of 80K/90K audience attendees. Citizens of Wacken get free tickets. As they should given the disruption. However, if a band is playing WOA, they have to be good.
Old rock fan here, and new fan of Nightwish - I feel this is one of the best live performances by anyone ever. And I have have seen Queen, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, the Sones etc live.
Good one the whole show was/is excellent try Story Time, Ever Dream, Song Of Myself, Ghost River , Nemo etc. The show was the 6'1'' Siren/Angel/Valkyrie Floors intoduction as the new singer to the European fans.
I don't know if this was in the information you were given, but just to expand on Floor's first days with Nightwish. Floor originally was named as a temporary replacement from what I have heard and hearing her interviews about that time. She was recovering from burnout after the collapse of her own band and she said in a interview that she got the call from Toumas about whether she would sing and finish the current tour. She was at her sister's wedding at the time. She agreed and that was when Toumas said could you learn the set in 48 hours. Just a sidenote, there is a documentary that I will link that explains it as it happened during the tour which you might find interesting. Floor said though it was maybe the fact that it was all in a rush that it helped her as she didn't have time to think about it, She said if it was a month earlier she would have turned it down as she wouldn't have been ready to do it then. But once they had decided to sack Anette, Floor's name was the first one that everyone thought as a replacement. It was after the end of the tour that they decided to make Nightwish a 6 piece band and invite Floor and Troy as permanent members of the band. That is how I understand it all came about. Wacken 2013 had had 82,000+ in attendance. Exactly, this is the tail end of their 18 month long Imaginaerun Album World Tour... 100+ concerts, 34 different countries. It started in 2012 with Anette as their lead singer. But about 8 months into the tour, she dropped out. So, Tuomas "the Keyboard Player/Song Composer" called Floor to step in. Her current band was inactive at the time so she flew out to catch up with them on the road 48 hours prior to their next show. As you so rightly put it... This is live, outside. I've seen a lot of lovely performances in studio's, performers singing into mic's an inch away from their face with headphones on... If not that then their live performances are in an auditorium, audience perfectly quiet, lights at the perfect shade of ambience, musical accompaniment at just the right levels... absolutely wonderful. Now how about outside... 82000 fans chanting in your face... a heavy metal band with double base drums pounding behind your head. A thousand bright lights blinking on and off on stage... fire, pot banger explosions and a never-ending stream of other fireworks going off all around you for two hours... Just saying, that's got to be a completely different level of performance, am I right?

Nightwish even made a documentary video about it "please learn the setlist in 48 hours". you should definitely see the video of her 1st performance in the Show Beste zangers 2019 where she sings the "Villa lied", before this performance almost nobody in the Netherlands knew who Floor Jansen was ! her Liveshow videos on TH-cam are also worth watching. and if you are a Disney or Frozen fan her covers of Frozen 1 and 2 . and of course all her Corona time covers she recorded in her home studio during the corona measures. When most reactors start with "Ghost Love Score" it is probably because it is a bit more manstreem at the same time as it shows what Floor do and builds up absolutely fantastic. Most people like "Ghost Love Score". Others of their music tracks are "more metal" and some are more like folk music or very long compositions that one has to know the band a little better to appreciate.
There where 80.000+ people in Wacken (Population under 2.000). And if my informations are right it's still the biggest annual metal festival in the Universe, established in 1990 as a village festival with some hundred people. She CAN sing anything! Intermission, ANTICIPATION..... then boom the shortest song ever, ten minutes are NOTHING. It is like, is it over so fast. Her name is Floor, pronounced just like the floor. I think in Dutch it means flower. Tuomas, the keyboardist writes 95%, pretty much masterpieces. This song was written for the first singer, Tarja, & I always feel like he was saying, look our singer can do! It is a beautiful presentation of a singer, I don’t think their second singer Annette sang it, it wasn’t for her, but Floor has taken it & ramped it more with her power, & 82k fans loved it, & it was their introduction to her with Nightwish, & her first concert as a permanent member! I think you would love Romanticide, & will give you a chance to hear Marko give the Valkyrie Goddess a run for her money… same concert. Great to have you on this journey.
You got this right, during this concert it was decided, that Floor was the one they wanted. When I go for this type of music like symphonic heavy metal and such, I usually go the way of listening to within temptation, with Sharon den Adel lead vocals. With the magnificent songs they produced between 2002 and 2010..... None more listenable than that, Although this version of Nightwish Ghost Love Score is quite magnificent as well. Samantha, I SUGGEST YOU check out every song from the BLACK SYMPHONY CONCERT. From 2008. In many people's opinion it is the most amazing and best live concert full TVD out there.... BluRay if you prefer better quality.

UNBELIEVEABLE CONCERT!!! Sadly I was struggling some stamach cancer at that time, so I was unable to attend there 😭😭 The thing about Tuomas is that he does not just write some lyrics, no he has a message in many of his texts, no matter if it is cyberbullying or environmental issues, he has a message. But also on his personal stage, he has some powerfull songs for you to experience 🤗🤗 When some time has gone and you have become wiser on Nightwish, I would like for you to experience WINTERSUN! Also an magnificent, yet underrated band from Finland, who deserves SO MUCH more accredabillity. Jari Maenpaa ( leadsinger, multiinstrumentalist, composer) is a poet like Tuomas, but he likes to write in, what I feel, a more traditional finnish melankolic way, yet beautifully composed and played. If you want a sports reference to to floor Jansen, In this particular song at this concert she was 100% "IN THE ZONE "......I've been to a ton of concerts with great variety, Some good ones and some bad ones...lol..... This might be one of the best vocal performances live that I've ever seen and this is just 1 song she did this the entire night.... In the middle of August in Germany And only being in Nightwish for 10 months And this song I believe was number 15 in the set list and she still delivered it with absolute conviction......... She reminds me of a starting pitcher that is still throwing in the mid nineties in the 9th inning........ But you nailed it on the head she is a great combination of dedication, perseverance, and passion.......throw in the fact that she is also an Empath, And that is like the proverbial icing on the cake because she definitely hashe definitely has a great feeling for the audience and knows how to deliver certain words certain lines and certain lines and certain lyrics in her own special way........... And the last thing is that she will never admit how good she is which keeps her grounded and keeps her working hard At her craft.

These days in pop music (any popular music) the majority of singers are ok singers at best and basically function as eye candy. (ofc there are exceptions) But that is a whole different story in the world of metal music, there the majority of singers, male or female, can sing circles around that other majority i just mentioned. (and some are Floor) And yes, then there is this woman... the metal queen Floor Jansen, she is one of those "few/one in a generation" singers like Maria Callas, Freddie Mercury, or Ella Fitzgerald. She studies vocal techniques still today, learns new techniques whenever she has a chance because she's a vocal nerd, she loves her instrument and wants to use it to it's full extent. Floor works hard for it, still puts in all those countless hours to get better at what she already excels at, because it is what she loves to do. And she remains humble and level headed regardless of her fame, she loves her fans but she loves music a bit more. (as it should be ;) it is what drives her) Thnx for the react, keep with the journey and you'll find amazing song after amazing song, this is one of those bands that keeps on giving.
...and the thing that is always impressive to me about the perfection of all the songs on this night is that Floor had only been part of the band for a few months at this point. None of the songs were originally composed and recorded with her voice in mind. She had 2 days to learn all the songs as she 'jumped in' in the middle of the tour between two gigs. And seemingly effortlessly, she put her very own unforgettable stamp on every single song. There is also a pretty good (imo) documentary about this story, which I can only recommend to you for a later date. In 2013 I was working for a PMC assigned to work with one of our German counter parts. Had the next few days off, a friend asked if I wanted to see this band Nightwish? I had no idea who that was, but said sure. OMFG it completely drained me, pschologically speaking I was in a very dark place after 23 years total Professiona Military and at that point 3 years with a PMC. I have used her music to help veterans suffering from various issues, mental or physical. It was my hope she could help them the way she helped me. She did. Something in this woman heals the mind the more you allow her in. You don't forget, you do overcome. You don't just survive, you can thrive through the darkness, if you have a light (Floor was my light). I've since retired, though I have done what I could to assist those fighting in Ukraine. Thank you Floor, Nightwish.

Not 8,300 it was over 82,000. Floor Jansen ( Yansen ). She was with the band about 10 months before Wacken. This was first major venue. Almost all there were seeing her with the band fore the first time. There is a great Documentary titled, " Please Learn The Set List In 48 Hours ", about Floor's start with the band. Very few bands can give you a whole concert in a single song, and nobody does it better than Nightwish. The whole band are top quality. When people are carried above the crowd, it's called Crowd Surfing. One of many things people do at concerts like this one.

She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have a daughter. ( Freja )
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish.
Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016.
From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020.

Hello Samantha Lisa, Wacken is the biggest metal festival in Europe. I am 53 years old and was lucky enough to see this concert of Nightwish with 83,000 others. Still today I think back to a super horny time.

As if all this isn't impressive enough, consider that she had never sung for an audience this large before 82,000+ people, combine that with having only two weeks to learn the twenty song set-list and this was song number eighteen in the queue.
and she's not the only musical athlete, what about the drummer just killin it at that pace, mad props to him, his performance was really impressive.
Floor had been with the band for 10 months at this concert. When she was asked to join the band in mid US tour, she had 48 hours to learn the setlist. She learned it on the flight over from the Netherlands and was on stage that evening. Jukka is by far my favorite drummer I have seen. To emphasize, 10 months at being with the band is not long, especially at the level of perfection expected of and by this band...and she nailed it. Still love to see all the smiles from Floor and every member of the band during and since this concert. Definitely magical.

Lovely reaction to one of Nightwish's masterpieces. While Floor had only been with the band about 10 months here she had been a singer in bands for over 10 years at this point and in fact had toured with Nightwish as an opening act with her first band After Forever so she was familiar with some of Nightwish's songs. Next I would recommend Storytime or Song of Myself from the same concert. Both epic songs. Also checkout some of her solo stuff. Her singing Shallow or the Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort from Beste Zangers will also blow you away. Last my favorite song that Floor sings, Sweet Curse from her second band ReVamp. There is a lovely live video of the song with Henk Poort from her solo show in Amsterdam last September. So beautiful, emotional and intimate.

Yes Floor has studied, and is exceptionally trained... However, she is also blessed with raw natural ability that's rarely seen. She has hands down the most expressive and versatile voice I've ever heard, and it's largely due to the way she is emotionally invested in the performance. There are many great voices in the world, but the combination of her voice and her method of performance make her essentially super-human.

Wacken, Germany is a small town (roughly 9000 people) that sets aside space for the festival Wacken Open Air that can host upwards of 80K/90K audience attendees. Citizens of Wacken get free tickets. As they should given the disruption. However, if a band is playing WOA, they have to be good.
Old rock fan here, and new fan of Nightwish - I feel this is one of the best live performances by anyone ever. And I have have seen Queen, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, the Sones etc live.
Good one the whole show was/is excellent try Story Time, Ever Dream, Song Of Myself, Ghost River , Nemo etc. The show was the 6'1'' Siren/Angel/Valkyrie Floors intoduction as the new singer to the European fans.
I don't know if this was in the information you were given, but just to expand on Floor's first days with Nightwish. Floor originally was named as a temporary replacement from what I have heard and hearing her interviews about that time. She was recovering from burnout after the collapse of her own band and she said in a interview that she got the call from Toumas about whether she would sing and finish the current tour. She was at her sister's wedding at the time. She agreed and that was when Toumas said could you learn the set in 48 hours. Just a sidenote, there is a documentary that I will link that explains it as it happened during the tour which you might find interesting. Floor said though it was maybe the fact that it was all in a rush that it helped her as she didn't have time to think about it, She said if it was a month earlier she would have turned it down as she wouldn't have been ready to do it then. But once they had decided to sack Anette, Floor's name was the first one that everyone thought as a replacement. It was after the end of the tour that they decided to make Nightwish a 6 piece band and invite Floor and Troy as permanent members of the band. That is how I understand it all came about.

Wacken 2013 had had 82,000+ in attendance. Exactly, this is the tail end of their 18 month long Imaginaerun Album World Tour... 100+ concerts, 34 different countries. It started in 2012 with Anette as their lead singer. But about 8 months into the tour, she dropped out. So, Tuomas "the Keyboard Player/Song Composer" called Floor to step in. Her current band was inactive at the time so she flew out to catch up with them on the road 48 hours prior to their next show. Next, I think you would really like a song from this same concert called "Storytime"...
As you so rightly put it... This is live, outside. I've seen a lot of lovely performances in studio's, performers singing into mic's an inch away from their face with headphones on... If not that then their live performances are in an auditorium, audience perfectly quiet, lights at the perfect shade of ambience, musical accompaniment at just the right levels... absolutely wonderful. Now how about outside... 82000 fans chanting in your face... a heavy metal band with double base drums pounding behind your head. A thousand bright lights blinking on and off on stage... fire, pot banger explosions and a never-ending stream of other fireworks going off all around you for two hours... Just saying, that's got to be a completely different level of performance, am I right?

When most reactors start with "Ghost Love Score" it is probably because it is a bit more manstreem at the same time as it shows what Floor do and builds up absolutely fantastic. Most people like "Ghost Love Score". Others of their music tracks are "more metal" and some are more like folk music or very long compositions that one has to know the band a little better to appreciate.
There where 80.000+ people in Wacken (Population under 2.000). And if my informations are right it's still the biggest annual metal festival in the Universe, established in 1990 as a village festival with some hundred people. I am living just a stone throw away for my whole life and I was watching it grow ever since. Now in my 50th you can say I grew up with them. 😄

She CAN sing anything! Intermission, ANTICIPATION..... then boom the shortest song ever, ten minutes are NOTHING. It is like, is it over so fast. Her name is Floor, pronounced just like the floor. I think in Dutch it means flower. Tuomas, the keyboardist writes 95%, pretty much masterpieces. This song was written for the first singer, Tarja, & I always feel like he was saying, look our singer can do! It is a beautiful presentation of a singer, I don’t think their second singer Annette sang it, it wasn’t for her, but Floor has taken it & ramped it more with her power, & 82k fans loved it, & it was their introduction to her with Nightwish, & her first concert as a permanent member! I think you would love Romanticide, & will give you a chance to hear Marko give the Valkyrie Goddess a run for her money… same concert. Great to have you on this journey.

You got this right, during this concert it was decided, that Floor was the one they wanted. When I go for this type of music like symphonic heavy metal and such, I usually go the way of listening to within temptation, with Sharon den Adel lead vocals. With the magnificent songs they produced between 2002 and 2010..... None more listenable than that, Although this version of Nightwish Ghost Love Score is quite magnificent as well.
Samantha, I SUGGEST YOU check out every song from the BLACK SYMPHONY CONCERT. From 2008. In many people's opinion it is the most amazing and best live concert full TVD out there.... BluRay if you prefer better quality.

The thing about Tuomas is that he does not just write some lyrics, no he has a message in many of his texts, no matter if it is cyberbullying or environmental issues, he has a message.

I have always said (just as you mentioned), that its live you find out how good a band, the interaction between Band & Crowd, how good a Singer really is a.k.a. no "studio magic".

If you want a sports reference to to floor Jansen, In this particular song at this concert she was 100% "IN THE ZONE "......I've been to a ton of concerts with great variety, Some good ones and some bad ones...lol..... This might be one of the best vocal performances live that I've ever seen and this is just 1 song she did this the entire night.... In the middle of August in Germany And only being in Nightwish for 10 months And this song I believe was number 15 in the set list and she still delivered it with absolute conviction......... She reminds me of a starting pitcher that is still throwing in the mid nineties in the 9th inning........ But you nailed it on the head she is a great combination of dedication, perseverance, and passion.......throw in the fact that she is also an Empath, And that is like the proverbial icing on the cake because she definitely hashe definitely has a great feeling for the audience and knows how to deliver certain words certain lines and certain lines and certain lyrics in her own special way........... And the last thing is that she will never admit how good she is which keeps her grounded and keeps her working hard At her craft.

Yeah Floor and Dimash are universl singers can sing everything and both sounds better live. I think its Two best singers in the world
These days in pop music (any popular music) the majority of singers are ok singers at best and basically function as eye candy. (ofc there are exceptions)
But that is a whole different story in the world of metal music, there the majority of singers, male or female, can sing circles around that other majority i just mentioned. (and some are Floor)
And yes, then there is this woman... the metal queen Floor Jansen, she is one of those "few/one in a generation" singers like Maria Callas, Freddie Mercury, or Ella Fitzgerald.
She studies vocal techniques still today, learns new techniques whenever she has a chance because she's a vocal nerd, she loves her instrument and wants to use it to it's full extent.
Floor works hard for it, still puts in all those countless hours to get better at what she already excels at, because it is what she loves to do.
And she remains humble and level headed regardless of her fame, she loves her fans but she loves music a bit more. (as it should be ;) it is what drives her)

EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR 20+ YEARS NOW I ONLY DISCOVERED THEM A COUPLE OF TEARS AGO
...and the thing that is always impressive to me about the perfection of all the songs on this night is that Floor had only been part of the band for a few months at this point. None of the songs were originally composed and recorded with her voice in mind. She had 2 days to learn all the songs as she 'jumped in' in the middle of the tour between two gigs. And seemingly effortlessly, she put her very own unforgettable stamp on every single song.
There is also a pretty good (imo) documentary about this story, which I can only recommend to you for a later date. The title of the documentary is fittingly 'Please learn the setlist in 48 hours'. :)

She's definitely a one of a kind vocalist. Another song showing off another of her vocal skills is Yours Is An Empty Hope, the Wembley version is one of the best.
