  • The first in our three video series on dubbing loops, Matt takes a look at what dubbing loops are, why you might want to use one, and how to form one. Stay tuned for episode two where we address different types of dubbing for tying with loops and episode three where Matt will work with materials like zonker strips and flashabou in loops.

Though I don't use (or like) your specific tool, dubbing loops provide much tighter, buggier and more secure dubbed bodies on nymphs, wets and streamers down to about a size 16. I've used a shepherd's loop tool for about 40 years and like it better than the Stonfo or Griffin style tool, but hey, whatever works for you is the way to go. Great video, really like the various angles you used to show what's happening when the loop is twisted.
