We got a chance to interview one of the greatest songwriters of our generation!
Adrian Mckinnon is a singer, songwriter, producer who has contributed to some of the biggest K-Pop songs of all time. His journey with K-Pop began with the track, “December, 2014 (The Winter’s Tale by K-Pop boy group, EXO. He went on to produce for SHINee, SuperM NCT, BoA, ASTRO, TAEYEON, f(x), and many more. His song, “Obsession” by EXO was named the best K-Pop song of 2019 by Billboard magazine. Adrian McKinnon is so dear to shawols as his songs are loved by the fans, they are all funky bops. And On the way is my favorite song in Dice album even though all the songs are perfect. Onew gave the song justice with his great singing and performance in the live stages.

I was bummed that I had to miss this live but now I finally got to sit through and listen to this interview!! I truly appreciate people like Adrian who give insight to the process of creating music. It truly is a team effort and a great show of how creativity feeds off of each other. I can only imagine what working with Sam Kim and Kenzie would be like. I would love to be a fly on the wall when these songwriting sessions happen.
When Adrian spoke of when passion becomes a job it totally resonated with me. I'm at a point in my life where I have been doing what I loved for many years along with my "side job" as a musician. When you do something well, people ask for that "same thing" all the time. Even though it is money in the bank, the fire that you used to have begins to smolder. Listening to Adrian and other producers, songwriters and creatives going through the same struggles gives me hope. I may be too old and too late to get in the music business but I hope that my professional talents and skills in marketing and web development can be utilized in that industry.
