Looking at this video now just makes me sad for what they did to this little ship during it's rework. :( To me, this is the real Mustang Beta.

The new beta interior needs to go back to this old color scheme and thematic layout, but in the modular design. New one Needs to be a little cozier like this one is.

This ship so is great.... its like a cozy little cabin in the back.. just beautiful use of space
have to admit, when this comes out. I could totally see myself going in the back of my ship for a break and watching a movie on that screen while in the rift. That would be pretty immersive lol. access you Netflix account in game on your ships screen and watch in in the rift.

This is so much better than the reworked model.. also the fact that you have to enter via the cockpit now, can't really bring a guest on board without them having to plant their asses in the pilot seat first. It's a shame what they did to the ship really.. and no chillout area anymore :(
That is quite the cozy little ship.
As an Aurora owner, I feel kinda shafted that the Mustangs have a sizeable living area compared to the Aurora. Of course it's only aesthetics, but aesthetics are still important to me.
Downside is its got no cargo space.
Tactical Advance Yeah, which makes me wonder why there's no mercantile Mustang variant. Since the devs have said that they want our ships to be highly configurable, we should be able to remove the Mustang's living quarters and replace it with a cargo mount. (unless this doesn't apply to the smaller ships)
My guess is that it's for balancing purposes against the other starter ships.

MisterEff1618 Alright I just took another look at the Alpha and it has "And now, with the optional Cargo Carrier, you can have the Alpha's advantages without carrying cargo capacity."
Is this some kinda mount that takes up the space of a weapon slot? The cargo capacity is stated as 0 freight units like all other Mustangs, so i'm a bit confused.
Tactical Advance I thought there was a bunch of compartments to fit small items? (artifacts and valuables you find while exploring)

This ship reminds me of a truck camper. A small living area in the back which takes up all the extra space in the back, and a driving compartment in the front.

Cozy. Seems like the go-to ship for the drifter who wants to see space as much as possible, as often as possible. And for barely more than an Aurora.
Probably not. I can't imagine the jump drive will be too good, and it's gonna be hard to defend yourself. Will be good for trips in safer space.
That's what "drifter" implied.
I feel the mustang will have the potential to be more durable in final release especially with CIG confirming armor upgrades

i miss this design for the mustang line, the beta was my first ever ship in the verse and i was furious when the rework came out, upgraded to the origin 300i, its just not the same but its still a pretty and nippy little ship,
Would be cool to see a larger ship with that kind of view range.
There is also two panels on the outside of the ship that open up. They are located on the left side of the nose right under the white mustang text and other one right from there (1:48). Shield generator and avionics. I love the details of this ship.

It looks like CO Nomad, It meaning Mustang beta V3 is CO Nomad.
BTW, those "LED Lights" near the tail? Not lights; Flares of some kind. If you look closely, you can see they resemble modern countermeasure flare dispensers. Also, I'm pretty sure the Mustang Beta can carry SOME cargo, given that we've seen the blueprints for the living quarters that state it has bins and a spot underneath the deck for "Smuggler storage", as well as the hatch behind the "hang-out area" being a small storage compartment as well....
Huh, very interesting, i didnt realize the beta had a full living quarters. Which i do have to wonder if there would be a perk to having one over say a aurora or a 300 series, seeing they lack the toilet and potential cooking apparatuses.
While Im planning to use a freelancer DUR for exploration purposes, (mostly due to the extended range, cargo capacity, and a jump point scanner from the start) having something like this would be a nice "get around" craft for when you dont want to pay for your other ships. I would imagine that the mustangs would run relatively cheap.
Hello Tac, if you go to the left side of the cockpit there is an option to open a little compartment. If you do this you will see some sort of battery. Also I will say compared to the alpha the beta weighs more and believe me you can feel it when flying in arena commander. You have more inertia making it harder to stop and make sharp turns.
I think the red squares under the back tail are the buckets for the chaff and flare system... Also, love your intro's in your video's! never gets old:)

I have this ship and i didn't even know about those back 2 compartments. I think it's a great little ship for it's role, and probably cheap to repair and refuel too. only downside is combat obviously but then it's not what you'd have got it for in first place, that's not to say it can't defend itself all the same cause it still has some weapons.
Not bulldog weapons, I believe they're the size 1 longswords or w/e theyre called. The bulldog/Badger/Panthers have 3 barrels.
only thing it needs is maybe viewing windows in the back... just upgraded to this from my aurora LN today
If this is how good the Mustang is, can you imagine how the 890 Jump will be like?!!

you have to redo video I own one of these and there's been ALOT!! of updates on it bug fixes and the new texture packs on 1.1.1 PTU are amazing there's reflections off every surface in the back and you have full view control in the shiter too and is totally with buying its my low budget ship with a jump drive, that was a microwave and the opening compartment is a electrical box there tv is the triangle shaped thing above your head when your laying in bed idk if that blue one it a tv but makes since the other tv in the bed area is lined up with the blue one when your looking that way
i think there will be a way to attach a box of some kind onto a mustang. the holo table suggests the ball turret slot under the nose could take some sort of box. so perhaps just a box and two guns on the beta (and a jump/quantum drive of course)
i dont think the space in the back of the ship is accessible in the delta. no idea about the alpha or the two racing variants. but it makes me wonder what that space is used for in the other variants; especially since mustangs have an available slot for a third primary engine (and apparently no power plant, oddly enough)
Question for you Tactical, I bough this today and it seems the bed is no longer usable. Its possible its a glitch for now but was curious if yours still worked or not :)
got to check it out as part of the free fly event thats on atm, kinda wish i had gone for this instead of the aurora MR, perhaps then i wouldn't have been so hasty replacing it with my 325a, although that small space wherethe ladder is sems like it would be a deathtrap in PU, seeing as i already have clipping related deaths on my cutlass of all things. that interior is quite cozy, puts the 300 series interior to shame.

I noticed when you're trying to close a door you look at the door to try to close it. It looks like you're suppose to press F where to door goes instead, not the door itself.

Aki U go for star citizen elite dangerous is slightly better now but in the long run star citizen will pay off more
Jay North I've been doing a lot of research for both games, and from what I've seen, I agree with you. Star Citizen has more content due to the FPS aspect of being able to walk around and play on foot. For its current build, the game already looks amazing. :3
Why is everyone saying it has no cargo capacity when I see She brings 10 Cargo units, either on Ship Matrix, either on Ship Detail Page ???
+Carlos Loff Because they have updated it i guess , ofcourse you can take a little of cargo in this ship , its just logical , a little cargo for personnal stuff or some weapons , food , fuel reserve...

Hi guys! Would it be worth to melt my constellation package with alpha that i bought last year, for a banu merchantman and a aurora ln package?
I remember someone mentioning an idea about fully functional TH-cam in game, would be the best to just chill on this ship and watch videos on the screen!
Those red things on the floor might be guiding lights, like on an airline.
It would be cool if the Freelancer DUR got this sort of living area because atm isnt it just the beds and few tables.

LOL, should get this one for the animated toilet alone. Allot bigger ships like caterpillar don't even have a toilet. Would be epic if your character can take a shit without flushin then go to FTL.

I would assume so. One in the bed, one on the couch, one on the toilet. If nothing bugs then you could theoretically carry 3 passengers.

No need to melt, you can upgrade an Aurora MR to a Mustang Alpha for free, it's under the Extras / ship upgrades section of the store. If you don't like it you can always swap it back as well.

For some reason the Beta just reminds me of Peter Quill's (Star-Lord's) ship "The Milano" from Guardians Of The Galxaxy. I really hope someone makes a GOTG mod for Star Citizen as there is quite big opportunity for Marvel spaceships in SC.....

The first release of the Beta is a bit buggy but its a pretty cool ship regardless. Will be better once those bugs are fixed of course!

I think the 300 line re work should put the LUXURY touring should be on par if not better than this in creature comforts.
Watching this now really makes me miss this ship so much, it was our campervan, and seeing the internal eyesore that is the new one has completely ruined my single player immersion that I sought. It was this very ship, the original that brought me into the game properly as flying around the verse with the camper in the back was my dream, I really wish cig would revisit the original design or if they are not prepared to do that at least let us still spawn this one in hanger mode. I wouldn't have minded so much had we got another ship to replace this one but so far we have nothing in game that even comes close. The new beta is a prison cell in comparison, thats probably why we saw very little about it when they eventually dropped the new one on us, is such a shame to see what they had originally envisioned just get thrown out in the trash. Yes the original had its problems and we just got the lame excuse of the internal metrics, it was a lazy way of not caring about a cheap ship. Had someone actually put their heart into it we could of still had the original. Yes to be honest the new beta does look good on the outside but I actually miss the externals as well of the original, I actually like the landing skids, all they needed do was probably widen it sighlty for the internal metrics to work without actually having to change its external dimension space, they probably could have just shortened the wings slightly to make it all fit within its original size.

István Sipos you can rent ships and compartments with "rec". As soon as the game comes out you will be able to buy everything with ingame-credits.

Wayne Hsu Words have it that CIG has been experimenting with textures and stuff so that wears and tears can be represented in the full game. Constellation Phoenix looks more pristine than Constellation Andromeda as well.

I feel that they are trying to do too much with the space at hand within the Beta, i think the rear space should be enlarged, the mass of the ship increased and the handling decreased.
Not the only ship to suffer from trying to do too much with a limited hull, the avenger being another major example

Freelancer is a good choice, but what do you want to be when the game releases? If you want to be a merchant, freelancer is a great ship for you.
The Mustang Beta is VERY good for its price and can do most of the things you mentioned. I am just not sure if it can defend itself.

Wow... It's such a shame it hasn't got any cargo space. I feel like the mustang Delta is abit overpriced comparing it to the Beta, Origin 300 or Avenger series, since the lack of cargo limits it in it's usability. Could you maybe do some comparison videos in the feature if there is a big demand for it?
The Beta and Delta are 2 different ships. The Beta has the living area and jump drives the Delta non of these but has better arma and missiles. 2 Different roles. I agree would of been nice to have some cargo space. I guess you can still pick a load of weapons and sell them by putting them in the storage compartments.
thanks for replying. The Delta does have a jump drive if I remember correctly. The only things they differ in is that the delta has: better weapons, missles, armor plating, (stealth armor?) and supposed countermesueres (dat spelling) which aren't reflected in the variant matrix.
the Beta instead gets the living quarters and weighs a stunning 30% more (I think this will be adjusted since the Delta atm weighs the same as the racing variants, that doesnt make sense imo). So it's pretty much more firepower+amor vs living quarters while the Beta costs 70% of what the Delta costs.
Besides, I don't get why the Delta doesn't have living quarters, as the hull is the same as the Beta's exept there are flareshafts located at the end. There's this huge part of the ship closed off with presumably nothing in it. I hope they enable the option at release to switch out the rear hull of the Delta for the Beta's. Theoraticly it should be easily possible with the only downside being the ships weight increases.
