Firstly thank you so much for all the videos, secondly I don’t know why you’re only focusing on level A1 and A2 , because I want to continue with your series until the end so please try to prepare videos for other levels B1 and B2 and C1 and C2 , I really liked your explanation it’s really useful thanks again 🙏🙏🌺
Hi 👋 Thank you for following our channel and also for asking for more videos… feels good to see that people like what we are doing. 😊 Your question comes at the right time cause we are about to start with more B1 videos soon. 🙂👍 Nevertheless we want to take this opportunity to answer your question in more detail as we were asked several times already, but didn't explain our reasons yet. It's gonna be a little essay, sorry for that. 🥴🙂🙏 The reason why we focused on A1 & A2 so far is rather simple. But it will take some time to explain… Of course we are aware that language learners often think it's best for them to proceed as fast as possible by taking intensive courses as well as browsing through books and videos as fast as possible. But based on our experience we strongly disagree with this way of thinking. So we don't rush, we don't skip topics, we do everything very detailed because we truly believe that this is what makes the difference. A learner who truly knows A1 & A2 will be way ahead of one who rushed his way up to B1 in a very short period of time (unless this learner is super talented in language learning). Here is why we think like that: The basics (A1 & A2) are the most important in German language! Most grammar that follows after A2 is just based on something you should have learned in A2. Unfortunately most language learners are in a rush to reach higher levels (on paper) and don't really get the basics right, before jumping to the next level. Of course it's still possible to start and finish B1 without strong understanding of the basics and even pass the Goethe B1 exam afterwards (which doesn't really say much about the actual level a learner has), but in B2 this doesn't work anymore and people literally are lost without a good understanding of these basics and quit learning German language because they think it's too hard (which it isn't if you got the basics right). In over 10 years of classroom teaching we experienced this first hand for so many times that we decided to have a different approach compared to other teachers and especially to language schools. ( Most language schools focus on money, they don't care if learners actually learn something or not, that's why they promise learners to finish certain levels in a very short time and pressure their teachers to follow their ridiculous lesson plans 😉.) We hope that this explains our slow approach and focus on A1 & A2 so far. Good news is that we are mostly done with A1 & A2 and will start B1 very soon. 👍🙂🙏
This is so true! I 'achieved' B1 on paper (all online) via the Goethe Institute, but soon realised that I really had not understood the basics sufficiently, and have had to go back to review much of what I had already studied again. That is where your videos have been enormously helpful, as I hadn't discovered them the first time around. Please do keep up the excellent work, and thank you again. @@yourgermanteacher
@@yourgermanteacher Thank you for this explanation and for being so thorough at the A1 & A2 levels. I took the A2 recently and am waiting for my results. However, even if I passed it, I still have a lot of A1 + A2 learning to do, based on your videos. I don't want a shaky foundation. I do not feel comfortable trying for the B1 when I don't feel rock solid on A2 yet.

I've been following about 3 German teaching sites on TH-cam for a couple of years now and I really, really like yours which I discovered about 8 months ago. My personal problem is I've yet to actually try speaking German. My reading and spoken comprehension have increased greatly but I'm hoping to start speaking soon. I taught English as a Second Language for many years so I think I have a special appreciation for your methodology. I started German because I wanted to get out of the Romance language bag I've been in for years; I speak 3 of them and I'm learning a 4th. German has definitely been more of a challenge although German and English are related. I'll keep at it; learning languages is one of my passions. I failed to learn Arabic despite trying to and working in an Arabic speaking country. That's a long story not worth going into here. Thank you for your efforts. If I can get Italian and German I'm done learning new languages; I'll just try to perfect the ones I know. That said, who knows, I could try Arabic again.
