      73 here and I'm playing the best golf of my life because of these lessons. I have also found that keeping my right elbow tucked during chipping I have become much more consistent. This is great advise from a very good teacher.

    When I started tucking my right elbow and taking my left arm around my body, it changed my game over night. Saguto’s swing is easy on the body and the closest to pure consistent crispiness this 56 yr old will get to!! Thanks Tom for keeping it simple.

    Tom has my swing thoughts after a proper set up is basically left shoulder point at ball then the right shoulder point at the ball.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. First and foremost, a good setup is key because it is nearly impossible to correctly execute the swing with a faulty foundation. Once we have that, then one simple "trigger thought" to set things properly in motion is all we need. No forced, manufactured, or contrived actions = no variables = consistently crispy ball striking bliss! 💪💪
      Keep up the great work!

    I'll be 73 this year. I have been doing this swing for about 3 years now. My driver went from 220 yards to 240 to 250 CARRY. From the up tees at my age, I rarely have over 150 in on the Par 5s and the Par 4s are just ridiculous. My wife and I played in couples tournament this past weekend and shot 15 under over the 2 days and came in 3rd in the Championship flight. I have never played this good in my life. It is like hitting the lottery at an old age. Too old to do anything with it but not too old to enjoy what ride is left!

    You've got it. Hit it out of the hinge-hang onto it as long as possible and keep the back elbow in-end of story. This has totally catalyzed my play-at 71 years of age...am hitting it longer and straighter than ever. Went from playing in the high 90s to the low 80s-even some 70s on good days.

It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built.

    Tom, you are a golfing genius. I have spent years worrying about my take away and body mechanics any you've taken that all away in one short video. Just move your left arm across your chest, keep your weight on your left and let rip. Just been up the range and it works. Tom, new to golf. Former baseball player and had that weight shift approach. When you mentioned circular it friggin clicked. Even my coach could never connect the dots. I loved the “eliminate variables”. I started breaking my swing down and literally turn and all of a sudden I’m tucked and straight arm swing and now I can swing hard because I trust swing. I need to apply it to my driver now. Awesome

    G'day again Tom🇦🇺.
    My son and i watched this video before our hit yesterday. I got sooooo excited about how we had both mentally "GOT IT"- that golf was a CIRCULAR game, not linear.
    I Think for soooooo long I hadn't been able to set up a mire rotational less swaying/too many variables, swing. Your set up bits of weight forward, elbows in, straight arms, let it swing more "around and behind you" are GOLD, DUDE, PURE CRISPY GOLD! 🥇 NUMERO UNO !!! (Is that Sicilian??)
    I think many people struggle to grasp that circle thing. I remember seeing it YEARS AGO on a Ben hogan video where they put a board up and said "the club doesn't go smashing through this board- (actually its more like it "drops" a little onto a slightly parallel lower board, on downswing, do you think??).
    Anyway, problem was whilst i KNEW it was swinging on the board i didn't know how to set it up so that would occur!!
    I allow (or even sort of consciously) my inner left knee to "dip down and rotate " to the ball, as my shoulder goes towards it - that, and i think of my left last three fingers sort of "sliding over the top of my chest"-is that what should happen?? Like, you don't just "push the left inner bicep into your outer chest and 'jam it in there', through the swing do you?? It slides over the top??)...
    Have a crispy succulent day Tom. If i get this sorted I'm gunna have time to learn the guitar!!🍾...but first things first, GOLF MUST BE (SOMEWHAT) sorted out!!!! 🐔✅

      As opposed to the trail arm which I like to see "glued" to the ribcage, the lead arm connection is more in the armpit area, Brian. This allows it to elevate as the wrists hinge and the trail arm folds to 90 degrees.

    First thing Tom, I love your videos. So please don't take what I'm about to say the wrong way. My ball striking is much better when I swing more vertical. I played golf for many years swinging around my body. Perhaps I was doing it wrong because it never really felt natural and seemed as if I was forcing things. I struggled with fat/thin shots way too often. I'm now swinging more upright and dropping the hands and it feels so much more comfortable to me. Your method definitely makes sense and I'm sure it helps many golfers. Keep up the great work!

    THE best drill for an ‘around ‘ swing is hitting an effortless swing with only your lag (right hand in this case) arm. You have to tuck in your right arm, keep your right wrist flat/back/cocked, your swing flat and inside…..and you just turn.
    I was a ‘puller’ (left arm dominant) arms/upper body golfer for decades until I found this feeling of a flatter turn; exactly what he’s saying. It’s the best way to hit the ball.

    So much good stuff here 👍🏻
    I’ve been focusing on 1) shoulder (and HIP) turn, and
    2) keeping my arms lower and more “in front” of my chest at the top
    (“top”? 🙄)
    of my backswing, and
    3) keeping that right elbow down & tucked in (elbows closer together)
    It works!

    As odd as this may sound, I can only seem to make good contact when my trail elbow IS NOT glued to my side. I’m the guy who gets the hands somewhat high, and brings them back down. It helps me stay loose. Granted, I’m not always consistent and my impact position doesn’t look exactly like Hogan; however, I can manage my way around the course for now.
    That said, I need to work on this during the off-season as I’m sure this type of swing will provide a more consistent swing longterm. I find that I’m too tense when staying glued, even if I try to stay loose sometimes causing shanks way right. 🤷‍♂️
    Love your content Tom!

      I'm very glad to know that you are enjoying my videos!
      It really comes down to whether or not you are satisfied with your swing and game as it is or if you wish to put in the time and effort required to properly make a real and lasting change. I say this because if you are a lifter of the club with a flying trail elbow, then there really is no real "blending" of these opposing methodologies (i.e: two-plane "shift and lift" vs. centered the one-plane style that I teach).
      As for the tension you are feeling, while that is normal for someone who has not previously experienced this level of connectivity and structure, but any sense of that should dissipate as the new concepts become ingrained.
      For a good starting point to your decision process, would you like to learn some key aspects of the swing I teach in a more structured manner? thats a fact tom, if you can hit 3 and 4 irons well like
    that... you have a `swing` staying on plane is
    crucial ,allied to a good transition, 😇👍

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      While it is essentially the same swing with every club - just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods - those long irons sure do provide a nice "litmus test" for ensuring that the setup and swing are indeed dialed in!
      And yes - staying on-plane is a critical key to consistently great ball striking, and as I've said to others I much prefer the simplicity of putting it in the "slot" from the start rather than having to rely on our ability to precisely drop it in that slot by the exact amount each and every swing!
      Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

    Tom…your instruction is GOLD!!
    Equipment question…I got fit, twice last year. Both times, they said 2 degrees up and add an inch to the length (I’m 6’5”). It seems however, with such a “flat swing plane”, that it would be better to have clubs more standard or even flatter, to promote the desired path? Thoughts?🤷🏻‍♂️

      I appreciate that, Michael, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you!
      With regard to your lie angles, consider that _the ideal downswing path is the ideal downswing path_ , regardless of whether you lift the club up and must then "drop it in the slot" or - as taught here - you just keep it in that slot from the start. As such, I would be apt to believe what your professional fitter is saying.

    Been following for awhile, this clicked after seeing this and doing a lot of Hogan research. I was having a massive problem with overswinging or really collapsing at the top because I was too vertical, lost a bunch of yards even though I am stronger now. Switched to this style of swing, and not only is it effortless, it's literally impossible to overswing or collapse because of the right elbow. Talk about adding 20 yards to every club. Now the only time I raise my right arm is to drink my beer.

    Hi Tom, I love the crispy Smore. A lot of us struggle with keeping the left arm straight. I notice your arm is perfectly straight.

      @SagutoGolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      LOL! Thanks John - I'm glad you enjoyed the video and smore reference....😎
      The lead arm is the radius of our swing circle, and as such if we desire ball striking consistency it needs to be preserved from address to post-impact. This is not difficult to accomplish as long as we don't try to take it back beyond our body's natural stopping point. It all begins with a good setup that facilitates an effortless 45 degrees of hip turn. From there all we need is another 45 degrees of shoulder turn to get to the full 90. If any of those turns are restricted by an improper setup, then the lead arm will fight the stymied torso and have a good chance of breaking down.
      While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews

      I get it, Brian. How interesting and sad it is that despite all the advances in equipment, technology, golf course grooming, etc. the average golfer still struggles to break 100. Epic failures within the realm of “conventional” instruction, perhaps??? So many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings - such as taking the club straight back, turning the shoulders level while independently lifting the arms, shifting into and torquing against a firm trail side, firing the hips, actively rolling the hands through impact, etc. - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of inconsistency and chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well). I’m doing my best here to clear these up one by one and put an end to this madness.
      By the way, you may be interested to know that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. _It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion._ Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built.
      Have you looked into the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet.
      And if you'd like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ That is where you can learn some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner.
      You don't need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. I hope you'll give the school some thought.
      Let's get you out of that abyss and into the wonderful world of body-friendly ball striking bliss!!

    After 12 years away from golf, I decided to take it up again. I started following a couple teachers, and implemented those fundamentals into my training. The result? I’m pretty much the same bad golfer I was 12 years ago, with less distance in my shots. I was ready to sell my clubs and call it a day. Then I saw a video by Rick Shiels demonstrating the weight shift to the left side to change the low point and reduce fat shots. I took a couple practice swings and it was a bit of a lightbulb moment. That took me down a Reddit rabbit hole researching stack and tilt. This research led me to Tom Seguto’s videos and on line training platform. I joined today. At 58, this is my last stop on the golf train. I’m hopeful Tom’s program is what I’ve been searching for that will get me consistently striking the ball and enjoying the game.

      Welcome to Stack & Tilt and SagutoGolf, Clint! I assure you that you have not gone down another rabbit hole. 😎
      This body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance swing system is designed to provide a lifetime of great ball striking, and since it is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to super seniors and everyone in between, and inclusive of the best players in the world.
      I'm very glad to know that you have enrolled in the online school as that is the fast track to learning and owning this swing. Here are a couple of important pointers to get you off to a good start:
      1) Regardless of a member's skill level, this swing necessitates a complete reboot for someone transitioning from a shift & lift swing (which is typically the case), and therefore it is imperative that one take sufficient time to ensure that the fundamental components are mastered. From the ground up there is nothing superfluous in the Stack & Tilt swing - in other words, everything with a purpose, and a purpose for everything. (For example, contrary to shift & lift where you may be taught to keep your trail foot perpendicular to the target line as a means of "creating resistance" in your trail side, in S&T we flare both feet out 10-20 degrees in order to facilitate a free flowing, inclined hip and shoulder turn.) I cannot emphasize this enough, as frustrations predominantly occur when students jump ahead in the curriculum without properly dedicating themselves to the foundational base upon which our swing must be built.
      2) The curriculum is sequentially order, step-by-step, position-by-position. For the best and fastest results, work through it as designed.
      3) Always keep in mind that I do offer an a la carte Swing Video Analysis service to my school members as a means to support their progress. I liken it to bringing your swing into the shop for a tune-up or minor repair. Scheduling one on a quarterly basis for preventive maintenance will do wonders for keeping things humming along nicely, and it's also a great tool for pinpointing and resolving any issues that arise. Here is a link where you can learn more: noodle.shop/sagutogolf
      Embrace the system, embrace the process, and you will soon embrace ownership of a well-functioning swing and the resulting consistently crispy ball striking bliss it provides!

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I appreciate that!
      Now to be clear, there is wrist action in the swing. It's just that we are simply "allowing" it to happen naturally in response to the motion and the weight of the club rather than trying to manufacture or force it. The latter is what far too many golfers are led to believe, and it results in a host of ball striking and consistency issues.
      Thanks again for your validating remarks!

    Bottoming-Out Point: At the top of your backswing, note where your lead shoulder & your trailing glute are in relation to the target line. The point on the target line midway between these two points is where your club head will naturally tend to bottom-out.

Watch any Tour event on TV and you'll see a significant number of players executing these motions, a fact corroborated by just how many of them have a very centered swing with the lead knee flexing and the trail leg straightening during the backswing, their lead arms on or very close to their tilted shoulder planes, and their hands deep behind their trail shoulder at the top.

    I watch most of your vids and still keep playing the « conventional « way, ( sometimes perfect, often struggling…) and the more I do the more I’m aware stack and tilt should be considered as the conventional swing! By the way Ben Hogan used to say the elbows should be close to the body. That’s exactly what you’re showing here. On another hand some people still say S&T can ruin your back. Unfortunately, as a physician I must say it’s the most natural way to lead the club through the ball avoiding spine torsion so that it adds comfort to efficiency ! My own question is: when am I going to switch to your method??😅 French pros are so stuck to « conventional « school…😢 and most of their students can’t improve their game.

      Actually, I teach the Stack and Tilt swing - a body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance system rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and modeled on empirical observations of the game's greatest ball strikers. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world. I give all credit where it is due - including Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett for analyzing and interpreting the science, and to those who preceded them with their empirical observations of the game's best ball strikers and all their subsequent chalkboard number-crunching. I just do my best to take what they have built and convey it in my own simplified methodology.

      This is indeed a proven body-friendly method. I can vouch for that through my own personal experience as a golfer who previously experienced back pain, and It is further validated by the fact that a significant percentage of my students and online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built.
      For example, the outward flaring of both feet 10-20 degrees in our setup facilitates the proper amount of body-friendly, free-flowing hip turn back and through. This is a major power source, and it also keeps the club traveling on the correct path. If you were to square your feet so that they were perpendicular to the target line, then your hips would be impeded from turning sufficiently in the backswing (which would then inhibit the shoulders from executing a full and effortless turn), and from releasing properly in the downswing to propel the club through the zone. Restricting this action can cause a variety of path issues and/or also place strain on the lower back, lead knee, and the hip joints as the hips will "want" to move laterally and turn through into the finish but will be fighting the body in the process.
      Thanks for your message and support, and have fun out there!

    Bumping my weight forward, keeping left arm straight, having elbows closer together and tucking your trail arm into your side makes perfect sense for me, until I try to actually to hit a ball. I feel very restricted and top the ball nearly every time. The concepts make sense from a physics/motion perspective, but for some reason, I am unable to make it work. I tried the stack and tilt for a while, but I couldn't find any consistency. I may not have the coordination to be consistent at all.

      Good News: It's really does not have anything to do with lacking coordination. Instead, it's about learning it correctly, beginning with the required setup features that allow for an unrestricted, free-flowing, body-friendly motion.

To this point, watch any Tour event on TV and you'll see a significant number of players executing these motions, a fact corroborated by just how many of them have a very centered swing with the lead knee flexing and the trail leg straightening during the backswing, their lead arms on or very close to their tilted shoulder planes, and their hands deep behind their trail shoulder at the top.

    As a subscriber and as someone who likes your channel, I would suggest that you show trackman data on how effective these controlled swings can be . There are so many proponents of width, using the legs, hip clearing moves and side bends that most people are convinced that is the only way to generate speed. It's going to be difficult to convince people otherwise unless they see real data. People are generally programmed to keep trying something, even if they can't do it. Especially with golf!

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I appreciate your suggestion. I do have plans to set up an indoor simulator in my home in the not-too-distant future, and when I do it will be a lot easier to include the data that you are asking for as I'll have my Flightscope Mevo+ launch monitor on the ready there as opposed to having to take the equipment back and forth to the range with me (which I have done on some videos).
      As for those types of moves being taught nowadays that would make a Romanian gymnast blush, I do have some videos on that topic including this one that I recorded after a high school golfer with those types of bodily contortions came to see me - th-cam.com/video/vG0UtsgRvUA/w-d-xo.html - and this one after Zalatoris destroyed his back at age 25 and had to withdraw from last year's Masters: th-cam.com/video/HkemK_uPg7o/w-d-xo.html. (Fortunately, there's a happy ending to Will's story that I hope to publish soon, and yes - it's about his post-surgery transition to the type of motion taught here that now has him pain-free and back on the leaderboard.)

    Are we ever thinking about bowing the wrist during the backswing? Or are the wrists in the right position based off your set up?

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Eddie,
      I simply "allow" the wrists to react without forcing anything. If we pre-establish the connections properly in the setup and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct actions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. The power accumulators - including the proper arm, wrist, and hand action - will then naturally load and fire with no contrived manipulations or precise timing necessary, thereby returning the face to the position pre-established at address. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power.

    Hey Tom , i can hit my irons hybrids really well and feel comfortable swinging those clubs, but im so inconsistent with the driver. Its like i just dont no how to swing the driver the club itself compared to the irons. So im either hooking or slicing or now duffing it. So strange as then i pick up my irons and im able to flush them.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: th-cam.com/video/o0xscMyN3v8/w-d-xo.html Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content.
      Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the driver it can be attributed to one of the following:
      1) Their hips are not continuing their lateral slide through impact. This is common with the driver as the wider stance means that the hips have a greater distance to travel. If the hips stop moving laterally towards the target on the downswing then their rotation takes over, inhibiting any further necessary forward weight loading (we should be 80/20 forward halfway down, 90/10 at impact, and 95/5 in the finish), changing the low point and rerouting the club into a steeper angle of attack (AoA). This can produce a variety of undesirable results including fat and thin contact, topped shots and popups, straight pulls, and “banana” slices.
      Of great importance is keeping your upper torso/head in place (in other words, not moving towards the target from a face-on view) while the hips execute the lateral slide action. This preserves the swing center and the desired shallow AoA.
      2) They are not allowing the length of the club to dictate the backswing path and are getting too steep as a result. The shaft of the driver is considerably longer than the other clubs and thus requires more of an around the body backswing as established by the shaft plane at address. It may "feel" flat as they take it back along the shaft plane for the first few feet, but as long as they maintain the "weight forward, shoulder down, and hands in" components while allowing the club to work around them, it should put them in the proper position at the top so they can attack the ball from the inside. (A good feel for that lead shoulder is "down and in, under the chin".)
      3) Many believe - and some even teach - that we must try to "hit up on the ball" with the driver. However, consider that in our stock setup with the driver the hands are even with the inside of the lead thigh (as they are with all clubs when playing a standard shot) and our ball position is even with the inside of the heel of the lead foot. This presets a very slight degree of forward shaft lean with the driver. Beyond that, the ball is behind the zero-point of the swing (which is even with the lead shoulder), meaning that without any contrived manipulations the club will still be on its descent - albeit very close to flat - at impact. So, perhaps with the exception of folks with slower swing speeds - or those Long Drive participants teeing it extra high and hitting maybe 1-2 balls out of 10 onto a 60-yard wide "fairway" - in general the path is still ever so slightly down. In fact, the PGA Tour average with the driver is actually minus (e.g.: downward) 1.5 degrees - nearly level - and it should feel level - but slightly down nonetheless. (Here is an article on Ping’s website addressing this topic - ping.com/en-us/blogs/proving-grounds/optimal-launch-and-spin#:~:text=According%20to%20Trackman%2C%20PGA%20Tour,85%25%20ball%2Dflight%20laws )

      Hello Tom, for the last 12 months I have been following Paul Wilson Golf which I found helpful. However, just by chance I came accross your TH-cam Chanel. I have since dropped Paul Wilson’s golf advice in favour of yours. Paul Wilson advocates using two points of axcess, I e the back and front leg. He also advices using the back foot to load up on and push off on. I agree with your advice Tom use one pivot point , the front leg.
      Since following your advice I am striking the ball clean every-time . Apart from great advice Tom, watching your videos has me in stitches. The one where you drive the ball into the man’s house in particular had me crying. lol 🤣 keep up the good work Tom and keep them coming.
      Best regards
      Peter

    Nearly every pro golfer swings such that the humerus bone is parallel with the clavicle bone. This is what I'm seeing in your demo as well. My problem is I get too wild when I try to take a full back swing. Think John Rahm.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The key in this regard, Al, is get to - but not go beyond - your body's natural stopping point in the backswing where the tilting, turning, and extending motions are complete, the lead arm has crossed the chest 45 degrees, and the wrists are properly set. This is the point where if we were to try to go any further any or all of the following will occur:
      1) the lead arm will bend and/or lift
      2) the wrists will break down
      3) the lead knee will kick inward towards the trail side
      4) the lead shoulder will level out and lose its orientation towards the ball
      5) weight will shift into the trail side and bring the low point back with it, resulting in inconsistent contact and unpredictable ball flight.
      6) you'll "chicken wing" and/or flip through impact
      7) pain, discomfort, and/or possible injury
      We don't need to try to get to "parallel" with this swing, and fighting your body in an attempt to do so will result in some combination of the above issues. If you execute this swing properly you will have created width and plenty of distance for that club to travel by taking it in deep, and that will enable you to harness the tremendous power source known as "angular momentum".

    Can you also do a segment on the proper ball set up from the club at address when you set up to the ball how far you should be from the ball on all the clubs when I hit the perfect shot it feels effortless and feels just right

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      With regard to distance from the ball at setup, I would first suggest that the clubs be fitted so that they are the proper shaft length and lie angle for you. A well-fit iron should rest on the ground with the toe slightly up at address. In general, the arms should be allowed to hang naturally, and the proper setup posture should have them approximately underneath the chin - slightly more outward for the driver - with the butt of the club pointing to the top of your pants zipper from a down-the-line view. In other words, the longer the shaft of the club the further from the ball we will stand, but that should occur on its own by simply assuming the proper address position.
      As for hand position, it remains consistent - even with the inside of your lead thigh - no matter which club you are hitting. Additionally, the lead arm and club shaft should form a straight line from the face-on view, giving your setup a lowercase "y" look. Looking down you should see the grip end of the club over the inner part of your lead ankle.
      As for ball position, while this system affords you some leeway in general once my students and members show some level of proficiency with the swing I suggest that they migrate to a stock ball position that is in the middle of the stance for short irons, two balls inside the lead heel for middle irons, and creeping more forward for the longer clubs - the farthest forward being even with the inside of the lead heel for the driver (with the stance width increasing as we move from shorter to longer clubs). From there they can make incremental tweaks to see how different positions affect impact quality and shot shape.
      By the way, it seems to me that the level of detail you seek is best found in the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of my online school, and it will make for a far more efficient and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through these channel videos that jump around randomly from topic to topic. That's where - in addition to focused lessons and drills that take you through the entire motion step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying and resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise as well as all my short game instruction, plus advanced level courses and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviewsAt just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet.

    I figured you enjoy hearing success stories, so heres mine. have been absolutely flushing golf balls at the range for 3 straight days. Straight shots, slight draws, slights cuts with my new 4 and 6 iron and 54° wedge off terrible weathered mats with terrible range balls. Even demo'd a zx5 and zx7 mk2 driver. The only problem I was having was DISTANCE. I couldn't get the driver past 175 carry and both my 4 and 6iron were either 145 (no wind) or 125 with 20+mph headwind. No matter WHAT, that was all the distance I coukd get. I drive a total of 270 total with a carry of 230 to 250 back home. Today I couldn't stand it, I know I'm flushing the ball, no distance, so I asked the older guy working on the range ball machine what was tge deal... He asked me... Do you see a net?? NOPE. That hill out there is about 225 yards away, can you hit a driver over 225? Yup!! He said, on the other side of that hill people are playing golf. These balls are LIMIITED RANGE golf balls and fly 75% shorter. The balls were NERFED!! I finally get to go home in a few days (been gone now almost 7 months) and I can't wait to absolutely take my friends money with all the things I have worked on. Just wanted to say THANK YOU TOM SAGUTO, you are to many of us THE BEST INSTRUCTOR who plays guitar. I will let you know sometime after Easter how it is going. After I finish building my bag, I will strongly consider signing up. Rock on, keep em crispy and again... THANK YOU!!!!

    How do you make sure your left arm goes around the body arc? I see in the video it goes around the chest and inside on the takeaway. Maybe what I'm asking is what do you think of when trying to swing in the circle arc? I just feel I have mastered it yet.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi David,
      If we pre-establish the connections properly in the setup and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct actions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot.
