Anita Lasker-Wallfisch über das Frauenorchester von Auschwitz-Birkenau

Anita Lasker-Wallfisch wuchs in Breslau auf und war im Widerstand gegen das NS-Regime aktiv. Sie wurde verhaftet und schließlich aufgrund ihrer jüdischen Abstammung nach Auschwitz-Birkenau deportiert. Dort war sie Cellistin im Frauenorchester, das von der Österreicherin Alma Rosé geleitet wurde.

Anita Lasker-Wallfisch talks about the conductor of the womens' camp orchestra in Auschwitz-Birkenau, the famous Austrian violinist Alma Rosé. Lasker Wallfisch was a cellist in the orchestra and survived the horrors of the Holocaust - in part also due to the dedication of Alma Rosé, as she explains.

dass solche Menschen so alt werden dürfen ,um uns das alles mitteilen zu können, und trotzdem ein halbwegs normales Leben danach führen können, finde ich so derartig großartig ...unser Gott muss 6 Jahre Urlaub gehabt haben... ich komme bis heute nicht klar damit, obwohl ich erst1969 geboren bin... aber diese Gehirnwäsche geht wieder los....

Wonderful that Anita Lasker-Wallfisch was able to meet the father of Alma Rosé to speak to him of his daughter. This lady always speaks so incredibly of the experiences forced upon her and too many others. Thank you for posting the interview.
