I can't imagine the fear and panic at losing your spouse, the relief when they're finally found, and then the disgust and horror when you realize that not only did they fake the whole thing, but they faked it so they could cheat on you with their ex. I of course feel terrible for Keith, however I can't help but feel worse for the family of Stacey Smart. She lived in the same region and went missing the same day Sherri staged her abduction. However, Stacey did not recieve an iota of the coverage Sherri did. Sherri stole limited resources from missing people whose lives may be on the line and the families looking for answers as to what may have happened to their loved one.
I just read up on this. This is so sad and her bf has a lot of suspicion. Changing his carpet after she disappeared and telling her family she moved out … wow. She needs the same attention and this awful sick woman Sherri.

What IF... what if somehow an innocent Hispanic woman was (mistakenly) arrested and charged with abducting Sherri? Would Sherri come clean? Or would she double down on this story and watch an innocent human being be deprived of their freedom for a decade or more? I wish I was confident that she'd never take it so far as to allow an innocent woman to rot in prison. But I think it's very possible Sherri is THAT big a piece of shit. Here's a scary thought: What if she was smart enough to implicate James from the beginning instead of saying it was two women? His DNA would be on her and his defense would be "Yes I caused all the injuries to her including branding her but it was totally consensual and we set it up together so she could get out of her abusive marriage." Dont know much about this case beyond this video, but by the information in this one, I dont think James confessed because he was dumb. Given Sherri approached him in a moment of weakness, aka, when his brother died, its likely he felt he was also manipulated by the point he got approached by the cops, and thats why he just spilled the beans.
Yo james is not stupid- him and sherri got together when he was WAY younger then her (he was UNDERAGE) Him and sherri never had sex when she was hiding out at his place, he was just doing what he thought would help her get out of an abusive marriage.
Keith’s body movements and language showed genuine concern and lazer focus attention. He was so full of love and life in this interrogation. He showed how protective and caring he was from simple gestures like touching her shoulder or rubbing her hand. Without seeing his face, you can tell just how determined he was for justice. And then it all came crashing down and his body seemed more muted or still. He had lost his focus and drive at the reveal, and it was very clear for one moment he had just blanked out. I could practically feel him disassociate before we visibly see him back away once his focus returned. He went through so many terrible emotions and it really showed to me that he was a genuine man. He really cared for her and she just broke everything. The truth hit him hard and the only thing he could think to do was distance himself. I despise this woman for the devastation she put on everyone who trusted her.
what's also upsetting is that any good woman who comes into his life has so many trust issues to navigate around as he untangles this in his mind and heart

I’m a retired LEO and have interviewed far too many people that were attacked, kidnapped, abused etc. as both a patrolman and deeper as a detective. NONE of them acted as jovial and enthusiastic as this woman. When they said they found the house @ about 8:30 she bounced in her seat & clapped & smiled like someone was about to give her an expensive piece of jewelry. let me tell you true victims do not act that way. They don’t want to look at the place where they were held & tortured. They want to remove themselves from pictures or anything that reminds them of what happened. I’m sure the detectives picked up on that also.

The only thing I can think of is that she likes the attention that pretending she is a victim gives her. A guy who is now a professor came out and said that he was 15 when he dated Sherri Papini. She's 20 and his youth counselor. I usually take things with a grain of salt when there isn't evidence, but considering to what lengths she went to in order to lie about the kidnapping...I'll admit that I have a hard time giving her the benefit of the doubt.
A thing that stuck out to me in his interview is that he wasn’t even that focused on him being underaged but on the weird behaviour and lies during their “relationship”. I don’t know why but that makes me believe him more when he says he was underage when they dated. He’s talking about her actions when they dated, and the underage part is horrible but to him it’s just part of the ridiculous tapestry of this woman’s character.

Hey homie, I'm so sorry you have had to keep this to yourself for so long. I tend to never speak about my own problems as well, even though I'm always ready to listen to friends. It's really not healthy but it's just not something you can easily stop doing. What has helped me a lot is writing. Whenever it gets too bad, I pick up a pen or just open Goggle Docs and write all of it down and it helps to just. Put it out of yourself. I've never shown anyone any of that. I probably never will. I might delete it at some point. But it's no longer just pent up in me and left to fester forever. Maybe that can help you as well. Whatever happened to you you deserve help and you are not alone. You deserve to be able to share what has happened to you if you ever want to.
Also an important thing I wanted to add: you are the victim. You are not at fault for what happened to you, never. And you are certainly not a bad person for wanting to speak about it and express your pain. It's your right.

She had a classmate who got kidnapped in back in highschool and was never found. Guess what she did, when sherri disappeared aka ranaway with her bf, she left her phone in the exact spot her classmate was last seen. She literally tried to recreate her classmate's disappearance. That is why the news of a missing Sherri Papini spread like wildfire in the first place is because it's not the first time it happened where she lives. Survivors are often sensationalized by the media and that is what she thought was going to happen to her. Her schoolmate/classmate's name was Tera Smith, there are videos about her here on YT if yall want to know more about her.

Here's the funnies part of the story. Sherri, in her infinite wisdom, described, in great detail, the house she was staying in during her abduction hoax as the house she was being held captive in. and that ultimately led to law enforcement to finding the house, which led to her downfall.

Honestly, Keith seems like a solid dude. He was excited to find out where she had been, probably thinking they'd soon be able to find the "women" that kidnapped his wife and get justice. I think he was looking at the lineups because it sounds like the police implied it was someone Sherri knew so he probably figured he might have recognized them from some type of gathering or something through Sherri. He sent a picture of the tile in his grandma's house because she said it reminded her of "the incident" directly to the investigators. It really seems like he just wanted to do everything he could for his wife and anything to find justice for her. I of course feel terrible for Keith, however I can't help but feel worse for the family of Stacey Smart. She lived in the same region and went missing the same day Sherri staged her abduction. However, Stacey did not recieve an iota of the coverage Sherri did. Sherri stole limited resources from missing people whose lives may be on the line and the families looking for answers as to what may have happened to their loved one.

Here's a scary thought: What if she was smart enough to implicate James from the beginning instead of saying it was two women? His DNA would be on her and his defense would be "Yes I caused all the injuries to her including branding her but it was totally consensual and we set it up together so she could get out of her abusive marriage." Luckily for him, her intelligence was roughly equal to his.

Dont know much about this case beyond this video, but by the information in this one, I dont think James confessed because he was dumb. Given Sherri approached him in a moment of weakness, aka, when his brother died, its likely he felt he was also manipulated by the point he got approached by the cops, and thats why he just spilled the beans.
Yo james is not stupid- him and sherri got together when he was WAY younger then her (he was UNDERAGE) Him and sherri never had sex when she was hiding out at his place, he was just doing what he thought would help her get out of an abusive marriage.
Keith’s body movements and language showed genuine concern and lazer focus attention.
He was so full of love and life in this interrogation. He showed how protective and caring he was from simple gestures like touching her shoulder or rubbing her hand.
Without seeing his face, you can tell just how determined he was for justice.
And then it all came crashing down and his body seemed more muted or still. He had lost his focus and drive at the reveal, and it was very clear for one moment he had just blanked out. I could practically feel him disassociate before we visibly see him back away once his focus returned.
He went through so many terrible emotions and it really showed to me that he was a genuine man. He really cared for her and she just broke everything.
The truth hit him hard and the only thing he could think to do was distance himself.
I despise this woman for the devastation she put on everyone who trusted her.

The trial is over and the verdict dictated that she will had to spend at least 18 months in prison. So, yeah, he is keeping the kids for sure.
No judge will allow her anything more than supervised visitation. She will never be alone with those kids again.
I’m a retired LEO and have interviewed far too many people that were attacked, kidnapped, abused etc. as both a patrolman and deeper as a detective.
NONE of them acted as jovial and enthusiastic as this woman. When they said they found the house @ about 8:30 she bounced in her seat & clapped & smiled like someone was about to give her an expensive piece of jewelry. let me tell you true victims do not act that way. They don’t want to look at the place where they were held & tortured. They want to remove themselves from pictures or anything that reminds them of what happened.

Also can't help but notice that once the truth was out and that she was exposed by her lies, she stayed huddled and cocooned while "crying" for the rest of the interrogation. A guy who is now a professor came out and said that he was 15 when he dated Sherri Papini. She's 20 and his youth counselor. I usually take things with a grain of salt when there isn't evidence, but considering to what lengths she went to in order to lie about the kidnapping...I'll admit that I have a hard time giving her the benefit of the doubt.
A thing that stuck out to me in his interview is that he wasn’t even that focused on him being underaged but on the weird behaviour and lies during their “relationship”. I don’t know why but that makes me believe him more when he says he was underage when they dated.

They drop that huge trauma on him then chase him out the room with a broom like a subway pizza rat. “What can you tell me?”. ‘You’ll learn on the news’. “Am I in danger? My kids? I'm sure they have legal reasons for that. It is important for them to make sure they won't jeopardize the case. Sometimes it can be seen as cold, but unfortunately it's neccessary. His wife went from a victim into the main suspect, so they need to be extra careful with giving away information. I feel really really bad for Keith as well, and I'm glad he managed to get emergency custody of his children and divorced her. That man needs all the help in the world to heal 🥲

I tend to never speak about my own problems as well, even though I'm always ready to listen to friends.
It's really not healthy but it's just not something you can easily stop doing.
What has helped me a lot is writing. Whenever it gets too bad, I pick up a pen or just open Goggle Docs and write all of it down and it helps to just. Put it out of yourself.
I've never shown anyone any of that. I probably never will. I might delete it at some point.
But it's no longer just pent up in me and left to fester forever.
Maybe that can help you as well.
Whatever happened to you you deserve help and you are not alone. You deserve to be able to share what has happened to you if you ever want to.
Also an important thing I wanted to add: you are the victim. You are not at fault for what happened to you, never.

Obviously, wanting to hang out with your ex runs the risk of her husband wanting a divorce, but so does PRETENDING TO BE KIDNAPPED. I find that straight up honesty, no beating around the bush, being super open about everything from the get-go, has ALWAYS been a good thing

It's because she wanted the attention. I watched a news segment about her and she seemed to romanticize being a kidnapped victim. She had a classmate who got kidnapped in back in highschool and was never found. Guess what she did, when sherri disappeared aka ranaway with her bf, she left her phone in the exact spot her classmate was last seen. She literally tried to recreate her classmate's disappearance. That is why the news of a missing Sherri Papini spread like wildfire in the first place is because it's not the first time it happened where she lives. Survivors are often sensationalized by the media and that is what she thought was going to happen to her. Her schoolmate/classmate's name was Tera Smith, there are videos about her here on YT if yall want to know more about her.

You know the really screwed up part? When a woman goes missing, it’s usually the husband that did it. I confess that I suspected that Keith killed her, as did a lot of people, and I was shocked that she came back alive. Once I heard the story, I knew she was lying. Sounded just like Gone Girl.

Here's the funnies part of the story. Sherri, in her infinite wisdom, described, in great detail, the house she was staying in during her abduction hoax as the house she was being held captive in. and that ultimately led to law enforcement to finding the house, which led to her downfall.

7:18 Typically the only time that would happen is when the victim is pregnant. The fact that Sherri isn't pregnant is actually what makes the circumstances suspicious because women typically only kidnap other women if they're planning on snatching a baby
Honestly, Keith seems like a solid dude. He was excited to find out where she had been, probably thinking they'd soon be able to find the "women" that kidnapped his wife and get justice. I think he was looking at the lineups because it sounds like the police implied it was someone Sherri knew so he probably figured he might have recognized them from some type of gathering or something through Sherri. He sent a picture of the tile in his grandma's house because she said it reminded her of "the incident" directly to the investigators. It really seems like he just wanted to do everything he could for his wife and anything to find justice for her. I'm only 15 mins in rn but oh man do I feel bad for him... it shocks me that someone would cheat on someone who cares that much about them (but my dad did cheat on my mom so being cheated on is my constant anxiety and cheating on someone is unfathomable to me) I don't know if I can make it through Keith finding out the truth... oh man I hope he gets divorced, full custody of the kids (plus a fat child support payment for him), and goes on to live his best life. I mean, I'm sure he'd have no problem finding someone who would show him the same love he showed here. Or he could live his best life as a single dad. Whatever tickles his fancy.
