He was one of the kindest people I ever met. My mother and I met him in Cherokee, NC, got to exercise with him, sit and chat with him, and he even gave me a kiss on the cheek and a picture and autograph. When our home burned down a few years later, I lost my picture and was so upset. He sent me a new one with a very nice personal message. He will be missed. He was an awesome person who loved hearing from people and personally answering letters. That's what he did all day when he was at home. He lived to encourage people and truly loved everyone he came in contact with. I had a personal letter from him also when I wrote to him in the 90s. Now that I am in my 50s I had just recently started using his videos (on YT) again. He left a legacy of love and simple instructions on how to take care of ourselves. Xoxo
You and your mom were so blessed to have met Richard Simmons. And he was blessed to meet you both also. He's so funny and got such a beautiful soul and helped so many people he is definitely going to be missed forever
My late aunt Was his housekeeper for 15 years when she became ill? Every month without failure he always sent the most magnificent bouquet of flowers right up until she died . And although I never met him my aunt always said it was the best job she ever had. He was an absolute pleasure.
Richard fell in love with that house when he saw it, an old lady owned it and Richard kept after her to sell, she finally agreed around 82' and Richard bought the house for less than $700,000. Richard loved that house. The gates are new in the last 10 years or so. That's Richard's Range Rover, Richard loved Range Rover's.
Wow he got a good deal on that house. And I was going to bring up the vehicle but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, considering he just passed away. I don't know why I drew the line there, I guess something about that being his car made it feel so much sadder. Thank you so much for watching
I used to watch him on reality shows where he went into hospitals to visit and encourage morbidly obese people. He was so kind and really cared about them. Fame never went to his head. The last years of his life he chose to live quietly. RIP Richard. You earned your place in Heaven.
Richard Simmons was a good friend to my Aunt. When we lost loved ones (my grandparents) he sent Flowers and a card to our family at the time of our mourning! He was a very kind compassionate person! ❤
Richard Simmons never said a mean thing about anyone. He always had something positive to say to you when he meets you. Just a good soul and heart. Gone too soon. He always brought a smile to my face.
Richard Simons, was a regular customer, in a supermarket where I work, he show up early in the mornings on the weekends, I loved to help him, one day I told him my daughter was very nervous because she was going to start college he told me to put my daughter on the phone and they talked for a long time, and he send her a note with his number and told her she could call him when ever she needed a pep talk. He was wonderful with everyone in the store. Great person .
Richard was an awesome man, He overcame obesity in New Orleans, when he was in the 8th grade he was like 200 lbs, went on to help alot of people get fit. He will be missed.
One time I was waking my dogs around the block in West Hollywood. Richard came out of a house with a friend and saw my dogs and me. I could tell he liked the dogs so we met him. He was very nice just like you see. 2003, that was lovey and I'll never forget. That moment❤ Nice video
I’m from New Orleans and I have met Richard several times when I was younger Just like your mom, my mom bought every single workout tape he made. What made it fun was the music he would have playing as you worked out. Anywhere he would go, he would put a smile on everyone’s face no matter what kind of mood you were in. He will truly be missed!!! RIP
Richard Simmons was such a "real" guy and was not stuck up and would talk to anyone. He came from nothing and made lots of money, but never acted like he was better than anyone. He was so sweet and would help anyone. So sad to hear of his death.

Richard and I had the same birthday, only he was 6 years oldr! In the 80s thru all the crazy diets, bulimia, and anorexia , I found a voice of reason listening to Richard. I believe I survived partly due to his common sense approach. Thank you, Richard. You will truly be missed for a long, long time. RIP my birthday friend.
Richard was fabulous! He was a great man and a huge inspiration for many people throughout the years and motivated others with his sweet, loving style. I loved him. He was truly a beautiful man. ❤
He was such a bright star in this dark world. His attitude and personality was so addictive. I wish he didn't go into hiding the years before his death because he was such a loving person. Rest in Peace Richard, we will truly miss you.
Yes I wish we could have had more of his positivity before he passed away. On the one hand I wish you would have continued to spread the positivity but on the other hand he deserved his retirement. Thanks for watching
Richard was such a sweet and giving person. He always thought of others, and he finally decided to just be private, and take care of himself. I do not blame him, everyone deserves privacy, and to do what they want to. His mental and physical health are/were important. Richard, just seemed like a friend, and when he passed, it felt like a big part was lost. Thank you, for posting this video, and for being so respectful of his, and his family’s privacy.
What a precious soul and a job well done -bringing joy and health through fitness to this world, thank you dear heart 🙏♥️🫶💫🫠✨Rest In Peace Richard Simmons ♥️

This video of Remembrance of the Vivacious Richard, was absolutely Beautiful, & sooo respectfully done!!!🥰im sure his days as the overweight schoolboy had lots to do with his Amazing Public Court Jester Performances, that helped countless people live a better a life, beyond just weight concerns. From all I knew, he had a true heart of gold, & was actually a bit of a shy man, with equal parts of passion and compassion. Clowns always have to remove their face paints, & ditch their crazy clothes & shoes, & most are Never who they are in full makeup!!! Richard was Everything we saw, just quieter out of his. RIP Sweet Gentle Soul🥰🙏

I believe I survived partly due to his common sense approach. Thank you, Richard. You will truly be missed for a long, long time. RIP my birthday friend.
Such a huge loss. Such a great human being. Such sadness. But I'm glad I lived in his world.
Amazing watching him when I was younger. R.I.P Richard.❤

He was such a kind man
Richard was such a sweet and giving person. He always thought of others, and he finally decided to just be private, and take care of himself. I do not blame him, everyone deserves privacy, and to do what they want to. His mental and physical health are/were important. Richard, just seemed like a friend, and when he passed, it felt like a big part was lost. Thank you, for posting this video, and for being so respectful of his, and his family’s privacy.
he always made sure his fans felt welcomed. Thanks for watching.
I loved Richard Simmons. He always made you laugh. R.I.P.❤

Loved him ever since i was a little girl, he got me to exercise, and taught me never to give up. I'm gonna miss him like crazy, I've been having a hard time dealing with his passing 😔
That is so sweet, me too, it is tough. Thanks for watching ❤️
76 was a good amount of time. Life expectancy when he was born probably was less than that. RIP Richard. I watched many of your exercise shows and thought you were funny but mostly a kind human

You are the best! Thank you for sharing your video.
Thank you for this beautiful video. Richard Simmons will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his fans. Although Richard Simmons had a big beautiful personality he was also a very much private person. I still have my Sweating to the Oldies video series. Richard Simmons made exercising/moving your body fun. Thank you Richard Simmons for entertainment you brought to the world. God Bless You Greg for this beautiful video. God Bless Richard Simmons and his family.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
This was so beautifully put thank you so much. If I ever need a Ghostwriter maybe I can call on you, I'm only joking of course but that truly is some thoughtful expression. Thanks for watching
Great respect for the Health Guru Richard Simmons. He had a lot of energy when he was on tv teaching exercises. RIP Richard.
