This worked great for me! Thank you! Any suggestions on how you can then connect to this via tailscale? I can access all of my other containers with tailscale except for this one since it is macvlan. Thanks!
Wow this worked perfectly, I was trying to create the macvlan from the docker compose file, but never understood that I had to give the ip range of my local network, just not a random IP. Thank you very much!
Hello, since both use macvlan, they can each have their own ip address. As far as which dns server answers your request, it will be based on which ip you send the traffic to. Pihole or adguard.
Hi Rob, you are doing a very interesting job, I really liked your method of creating containers and connecting them to the macvlan network. I followed your instructions step by step and I managed to install Adguardhome and it works perfectly and I also installed Wireguard and it's thanks to your knowledge and your shared vedios. I've noticed that once the vpn is connected, you can't connect to the addresses on the macvlan network. But other sub bridges such as openmediavault are accessible. Do you have any idea how to solve this problem, dear Rob? Thank you.
Hi, I am glad my videos are helpful. For wireguard, you have to make sure you have the allowed groups correct on both sides of the wireguard configuration. In my personal wireguard setup, I had to add a firewall rule on my pfsense to allow the wireguard tunnel network to access my local network ip's. But I used pfsense wireguard package to set up the tunnel. In your configuration, did you create the tunnel with a wireguard container, or how is your setup regarding tunnel and client?
@@robwithtech Hello, thank you for your responsiveness, frankly I'm a novice in this field. I recently bought a raspiberry pi 5. following your videos i managed to install openmediavault 7- and Adguard. about wireguard i installed it on a container by creating a tunel .and that's all ! I hope that one day you will launch a course about this concept. Thank you
Hello, in compose I have this above, but when I put my IP addresses and port 3000 the page simply does not load. Do you know what the error is due to? greetings and thanks
"our ip" should be the ip of our server or an ip that it's not used by any device in our network? Because when I assign my server's ip it doesn't load.
Hello @DamianMdq, adguard is used to serve as a dns server / dns sinkhole for ad not to expose your plex to the internet. Not sure if that is possible using adguard. Typically you would want to port forward the port that are used by your plex. This would be on the router. I would recommend you to research into setting up a VPN. With a VPN you can tunnel your traffic externally to your internal network and access plex. Hope this helps. Thanks.
Nice vid. Got it working and you provided much more and better detail than network chuck.
Thank you, much appreciated! That's a strong statement you got there.

You're welcome! I'm glad I was able to explain it, hehe. Cheers!
Thanks for the video! You have pihole installed also right? How does that work at the same time?? Thanks.

would you do one adguard container using portainer ?
Hello, let me see if I can create one with portainer.

Hello, do you get any kind of error? How about the macvlan? Did you use the same subnet as your network?
@@robwithtech No type of error when I set up to adjust just ok, but when I go to the IP plus the post simply does not load

Hey, the ip address has to be unique and unused by other devices.
can this be used to share plex outside my network?
