    Best robot voice video ever
    I usually immediately click off videos with the text to speech, but this was good and informative

      Yeah, I like my robot voice guy. He always says exactly what I tell him to say and never gives me any talkback!

    I was just about ready to throw my Oxygen Pro 49 out of the window and I found this video via the Reaper forum. Thank you! The M-Audio documention is useless.

    Thank you SO much, I've had my Oxygen Pro Mini for 2 years approximately and never quite understood how to adjust this to my liking, you made it so clear.
    I have faders and knobs for CC values, pad bank 1 changes program value which triggers different articulations in my orchestral template (using it with Reaticulate); arpeggiator tempo sync now actually works as do the transport buttons.

    Can you set Reaper's tempo via Oxygen Pro (e.g. tap tempo button) when keyboard is set to external clock.
    Thank you

      Good question. Sorry, but I'm not presently set up to test this. May I suggest just giving it a try to see if it works, and report back here for others! Thanks.

    Hi I have Reaper v 7.27 and oxygen pro 62, I followed your instructions but the last part of setup control/osc/ web I select Mackie universal and select oxygen pro 61, then get a error message ... The following midi inputs could not be opened oxygen pro 61. Any advice please

    • @IOnianStreams
      @IOnianStreams  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure. Is it possible you already set up Control/OSC/Web for the Pro 61 earlier? If you try to set it up again when it's already there you'll get an error like that. Or, the Pro 61 is different than the Pro Mini? Or...?

  • @LuizigenEddy
    @LuizigenEddy ปีที่แล้ว

    How out of the box does it work?
    I have the 61 version.
    "some' of the control version al do the same thing.
    Some keys also do something in reaper.
    But nothing actualy works out of the box.
    Am I missing something not shown in the video?

    • @IOnianStreams
      @IOnianStreams  ปีที่แล้ว

      The video is accurate for the given context: Oxygen Pro Mini 2.15 (32-keys), Reaper 6.73, Windows 10. It should work for the 61-key. Follow the video instructions exactly.

    Nice vid! There is one interface element missing though. If you are in one of the modes the keyboard does not give you a visual feedback if the mode (e.g. "solo") is active or not. The silk screen buttons are able to show this through their LEDs either on or off. In Ableton Live this works really nice. But in Reaper I can't see a way to get this visual feedback to work. 🤷‍♂Did you find a solution?

    • @IOnianStreams
      @IOnianStreams  ปีที่แล้ว

      "Good Eye", as they say in baseball. That feature is apparently not enabled in Reaper. I should think that it certainly could be, but may have been an oversight by M-Audio. Or, it's just not possible in Reaper (more doubtful as Reaper can do just about anything). M-Audio may have simply put more time into the Ableton configuration. For example, there is another function available in Ableton but not Reaper -- in Ableton the knobs can be set to control not just "Pan" but "Device" and "Sends" also. Do so by holding Shift and touching pads 1, 2, or 3 on top row (see the silk screened labels below the buttons). Keyboard must be in Ableton mode (obviously) and DAW mode (button lit). [I haven't tested this using Ableton; maybe you can test and report back?] But this is also unavailable in Reaper. Maybe a firmware update could enable all these features for Reaper too. ...Gotcher ears on, M-Audio?
      Frankly, I bought this keyboard primarily because it's small yet still has 32 keys. I use some of the basic "out of the box" controls but tend to do most of that tweaking right in Reaper.

    • @KaiLabs
      @KaiLabs ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@IOnianStreams I wouldn't expect too much of M-Audio. As they do nothing for the integration with MPC2 Software. And they are supposedly in the same company "inMusic". 🤷‍♂

    What if your daw isnt in oxygens daw menu you scroll through?

    • @IOnianStreams
      @IOnianStreams  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Oxygen Pro Mini has a "User" DAW where you can customize the controls for your DAW. As a Reaper user, I have not experimented with it, and therefore cannot vouch for it either way.

    So, I followed your instructions EXACTLY. Every thing works great, until it doesn't. While switching banks to control various tracks, all of a sudden, the same bank settings control different tracks. Do you think I got a faulty unit. I really want to love this thing, but the bugs, bug me. THANKS

    • @IOnianStreams
      @IOnianStreams  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @davidpinkowski7748 Sorry, I overlooked this question until now.
      The bank system in the Oxygen Pro Mini could and should be improved. It's very easy to get lost, mainly because of issues with how the banks are displayed in the window. Are you listening, M-Audio?
      First, the display only shows the bank/slider information when a slider is moved. But this also changes the slider value for the track. That's a pain. M-Audio, make the display show bank/slider information when the Bank buttons or function buttons are pressed.
      Second -- and worse -- there's a display bug in the sequence of bank numbers. Using Bank> you can scroll through Banks 1, 2, 3, and 4 in order. When you get to the second page of Bank 4, pressing Bank> again appears to cycle you back to Bank 1. IT DOESN'T! The display shows "Bank 1" but that's WRONG; you're still on Bank 4. Pressing Bank> while in Bank 4 only switches between page 1 and 2 of Bank 4, but the display will repeatedly cycle through "Bank 1", "Bank 2", "Bank 3", and "Bank 4"!
      Similarly, when in Bank 1, pressing Bank< appears to cycle you backward into Bank 4. IT DOESN'T! The display shows "Bank 4" but you're still in Bank 1. Pressing Bank< while in Bank 1 only switches between page 1 and 2 of Bank 1, but the display will repeatedly cycle through "Bank 4", "Bank 3", "Bank 2", and "Bank 1"!
      To avoid getting lost...
      * When you're on Bank 4/page 2, don't use the Bank> button! Use Bank< to go backward to other tracks.
      * When you're on Bank 1/page 1, don't use the Bank< button! Use Bank> to go forward to other tracks.
      I never discovered this bug because I use my Oxygen just for the keyboard and transport controls. Everything else I do directly in Reaper. So good catch @davidpinkowski7748!

    note repeat doesnt work in repear, any tips to get it working?

    • @IOnianStreams
      @IOnianStreams  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, note repeat does work in Reaper. Be aware that it only works for the pads, not the keyboard notes. Maybe it should be called "pad repeat." Anyway, press and hold the "NOTE REPEAT" button and press a pad -- the sound in the pad should repeat. To keep note repeat ON continuously ("Latch mode"), press SHIFT + NOTE REPEAT. When NOTE REPEAT is active, the speed of the repetition can be changed with the scroll wheel.

    • @onetmaster
      @onetmaster ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh found it. I've enabled the Mackie device (Linux sees like 4 devices from this controller) and used it as input in the "Control/OSC/web" section!

    any plug n' play one?

    • @IOnianStreams
      @IOnianStreams  ปีที่แล้ว

      If by "plug n play one" you mean a keyboard that does everything the Oxygen Pro Mini does in Reaper just by plugging it in to the USB port... Um, maybe but I highly doubt it. If you mean something else, please be more specific.

      so oxygen is a controller to a reaper, that means other than reaper also works?

    • @IOnianStreams
      @IOnianStreams  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@woka_kawanua-hw2hj Yes, the Oxygen Pro Mini works with many different DAWs. The DAWs specifically listed in the unit are Ableton, Pro Tools, MPC Beats, Bitwig, Cubase, Logic, Studio One, Reaper, Reason, FL Studio. See the m-audio.com website for more info.
