I think hikers carry one thing on their person that most don't even know they carry; souls of others. I truly believe that the souls of people who longed to hike but couldn't, go along for the ride when we hike. They see what we see and love every minute; good and bad. Hike on! You are not too old. I'm 60 and just finished two 50k's the last 45 days. I'm faster at 60 than I was at 52. The human body is an amazing endurance machine.

Nice video tale of the trail. Starting in snow, then going through the hot desert, then back into the snow, then more desert and then more snow till trail's end. Of course, there's up the mountains and then down the mountains, in and out of washes and gorges, having to walk too many miles of roads and rewarded with beautiful desert blooms. Quite the adventure. Congratulations on finishing the trail and figuring those life-adjusting things out along the way. Those who thru-hike are of a different breed. A month ago I finished my 23 year section hike of the Arizona Trail. The trail has mutated and evolved much since 1997. What was once a half-built and rarely marked path is now a full blown National Scenic Trail with hikers from around the world wanting to give it a try. Well, you succeeded and that is a great testament to your spirit. Your memories of all the trails you've hike will keep you smiling for the rest of your life.
