Honestly she looks how she controls I’m Blazblue, and having a character from such a fast game implemented into a game filled with clunky, slow characters isn’t a good idea
This actually is so well done, it feels like a lot of care and thought was put into adapting Nu well into Smash too, I'm usually not the biggest fan of character mods but this is A+
holy god damn hell, this is like all those "god" character mods with amazing coding and animation going to waste on meme ideas. except obviously what you have done here goes far beyond the best thing ive ever seen modded in to Brawl. what you have done here is what Sakurai keeps doing with new characters added in to Smash4 and onward, porting the character from their own game as best as possible or representing their identity as faithfully as you can. that and this looks so god damn official its hard to believe this is a mod done out of a hobby by a fan.
but Ragna is boring, if we wanted a cool character form there they'd have to add 2 characters and they dont really do that for 3rd parties. and if they do they are clones so far. who would be a Ragna clone? lol
Thanks. I did copy them frame by frame although I did have to fill in the gaps since sprite animations have plenty of static poses and some sprites have long duration.

Nu's moveset is actually simple in execution. The only difficult thing is timing. Now if I were to make Naoto, then it would be very different. As bad as those are, I'd still give him frame 1-3 dash cancel windows and such.
@@starbreaker6441 i mean he technically has like hundreds of different actual combos, hes build a bear combo the character, its not that hes hard its just complex, at 0 from a dash attack you can do litterally anything most of the cast

Technically many characters would break other games if directly imported. If we see Nu-13 in smash, there will be adjustments while also keeping the character's style.
Dude, you had the passion to do something i only thought was a possibility. The reason I am a fighting game fan its because of this character and its amazing yet tragic backstory and to know someone is so passionate about it to just warms my heart (200th Subscriber btw)

Ive got to admit, I wasn't expecting much but this looks awesome. you can just see all the thought and hard work that went into translating the 2d sprites and moveset into a 3d model and smash controls

Honestly, I could get behind Nu in an ACTUAL Smash game.....as long as she doesn't get to kill at like 25% from like center stage but it's Nu so I doubt she would get that.
@@kokonoegrav I wouldn't. In the Blazblue games, Nu's combos involving summoning many blades can auto-target her enemy. That in Smash would be the most annoying thing to fight, period. You just press B and blades just come out of nowhere to strike your foe as they approach and it's not like Blazblue where approaching takes less than a second.
@@kokonoegrav Well yeah, but I meant more along the lines of, if the first projectile hits, the others are all a true combo and that was be extremely annoying to fight if your opponent can just combo you from a distance for the entire fight. A strategy that's hit or miss in Blazblue, but very effective in Smash.

She might be keeping you out but she probably can't kill off of it unless they gave her like Legacy Edge or Calamity Sword, which'd be funny as hell to watch em hit the ground and bounce all the way to the top, make for a cool meteor smash too honestly

I came here from koe's video on this in my recommended And damn you really went all out on nu-13, love how you managed to squeeze almost all her specials into her kit with only so many buttons and inputs Sakurai should hire you xD
Thanks. Movesets of BlazBlue characters aren't hard to fit into Smash movesets aside from Clovers. You just need to remove a few normals and utilize some specials and supers as smash attacks.
God Damn,the last time i saw this much animation and impressive from a simple modder was Project Ganondorf with the Wizard Evil Gerudo King Ganondorf. This is just beyond amazing,I hope that this will eventually be released,I can wait a life time to see this fully functioning. Hopefully with no crashing with that memorable ear piercing sound.

This is amazing work I love it , I was just wondering the process of how you made it as I'm currently studying games and interactive media at college where I'm learning modeling and animation and it would be awesome to know the ins and out of a project like this from the start to where your currently at in the pipeline, Don't see many fan works like this and it's really good so keep it up :)
Thanks. It's a little hard to write down the whole process. For this character in particular, it involves a lot of referential material from the source games. Like all animations are made with sprites and framedata from BlazBlue out for me to look through. Since sprite animations and 3D animations are two different things, I have to add some extra stuff to them like moving the arms and legs a little during a static pose that is held for long enough. All animations are made in a program meant for Brawl mods called BrawlBox, which does include animations, but it's barebones in that department. Before this whole thing, I used to make MMD animations, so, I do have some experience. It's better to use Maya or Blender though. Coding is done in the same program (well, an old version of it that still supported moveset editing). I don't have to write things like "If Var(91) = 5" myself, but it does take a lot of trial and error as there's absolutely no way to test everything quickly. At best, there are some workarounds. Taking a look at how other characters are coded helps. There are some PM-specific things like the piece of code that lets you use next part of the jab is different in vBrawl and some actions are new, but it generally works in both games (unless it's something like Wario's Bike, which refuses to properly obey any laws of physics when brought to PM). There's plenty of documentation for this sort of stuff. Modelling is done in Metasequoia and BrawlBox, with 3dsMax used to import and export things or fix normals. Actually drawing textures is not something I'm good with. Aside from that, it's not any different from making models in general although there are some size limitations. As this is meant for a specific console, going over certain numbers will cause lag. That includes node count, which depends on how the model is rigged. Things like statues normally have node count at 1, but it skyrockets with bat wings, tails, certain capes, etc. File size in general is always threatening as different parts of the mod have different limits. For example, you can't have sounds go over 800-900kbs total. This is why Nu's voice clips are kinda compressed, but it still works due to the filter used by her. It's generally a good idea to play it safe here, then add things once you're sure everything works.

Nu in doubles is just a sight to behold in general once the enemy is caught in a Gravity Seed. Two Nus are outright broken as they can just reset it over and over.
Almost all brawl character mods I've seen have gross and choppy animations with a 3 polygon ripped model and improper bones. You deserve way more recognition for the amount of work you've put into this. Like holy fuck, that's a fully animated mouth...
