Tail of the Dragon - Starting with a view of Fontana Dam - 27 Aug 2021

First, let me apologize for the glare/windshield reflection in this video. It was the first day recording with this camera mount set-up. I'll try to come up with something to mitigate this problem as soon as I can.
This video starts with a nice view of Fontana Dam in North Carolina, then a complete run through the Tail of the Dragon (US-129).

Wow. What a drive. Fontana Dam was beautiful. And the tail of the dragon speaks for itself. You drove it very well. Thanks for taking me along because I would not be brave enough to try driving it.

I will call you a name…my friend! I like your style of driving! Safe! 318 curves in 11 miles is nothing to mess with! Beautiful ride! You slayed the dragon 🐉 Our first trip on the tail of the dragon was in the rain and we didn’t realize we were on it until we got to those motorcycle shops because our focus was getting to Fontana Dam. Our second time through it wasn’t raining so we had a nicer ride!

The motorcyclist passed on double lines, didn't they? It was fun looking at the different types of vehicles (on coming). Hope to take this trail in the near future. Thanks for sharing your drive!

Yes, he did pass on double yellow lines. That whole stretch of road is a no passing zone. He was one of those guys that was getting mad at everyone that wasn't driving fast.
