Came accross your channel a few weeks ago, you really have some great video's. This lighter life extending idea is definitely one I'm going to use myself!
don’t understand the negative comments, unless they are friends of yours just having a little fun. the lighter mods are nothing more than you showing another way to do something. looking forward to whatever vid coming up next.
Thanks for the "like" I have a "ball" of cotton string that I "waxed" sometime ago in a mix of bee wax and pine resin or turpentine... I will try it out...and I have some proper cotton wick that I might wax and try and compare the burning intensity and duration of the 2...
if you are cheap/frugal like i am, you can buy 50 bic lighters with a "display case", on amazon for $48.99. lot better than 2,25 at a gas station. if you are a non smoker.... thats a life time supply
Update went to Dollar Tree yesterday they had a spool of jute $1.25 in the Craft section more yards than the $3 one I bought at Hobby Lobby get them all you can
cant say i remember that, and i have been smoking since high school in 1982. however there are still several brands of non bic lighters that are refillable, scripto comes to mind. how many times, you can refill them before they make no spark, i have no idea. i do know the flint(?) on most lighters is smaller than the lead of a pencil tip
You also still have to flick the lighter to light the wick, instead of lighting whatever you needed the lighter for. I’d like to see some testing done to verify “10x” myself lol
Great video! Very clear, to the point, and useful! Your channel is quickly becoming one of my favorite preparedness channels. 👍👍
Thank you! That means a lot.

This is very very clever ! I've never seen this hack before !
Nice clean mods! Only thing different I did was swap the zip-tie for a thick O-ring 😁👍
.nice trick...I have birthday candles in my fire-kit but I will try the waxed thread!

Good job! That lighter will last a very long time! You will probably end up replacing the waxed jute a few times before the gas runs out.
I subscribed right after seeing the 150dolar survival kit video, great content please keep up the good work, it is uniqe and actualy useful :)
Wow thank you for supporting from the beginning.

This is true, but then wrap them all in waxed candle wick and Gorilla tape and you'll have basically 500 Bic lighters.
Just went to Hobby Lobby waxed Candlewick almost $19 so I bought $3 jute came home and melted candle wax on it not pretty but it works

They used to sell Bic lighter butane refill canisters but stopped real quick...

👍👍👍👍👍 10 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
wow just by a new one can't afford $1.50 🤣
What if the zombies are roaming the streets?
This a forehead moment my guy. Just buy another lighter what is wrong with you.

The idea is if you’re in a bad situation (god forbid) and you need to make the lighter last as long as possible, this is an inexpensive option.
You are a city guy?
