Thanks for listening to my rambles 💛 What are your goals & dreams for 2025? Feel free to share your reading recs and any writing challenges you'd like me to do this year!
Girl, I always say "swing for the fences" when it comes to your writing. You may not hit a homerun, but you might get a double or a triple! You could absolutely have any of those dreams happen. Writing retreats are fun and don't forget conferences, I've found some of those to be very motivating. Consistency is also great motivation. As for me, I'm all about getting my novel in submission shape and also being consistent with the content. Have an awesome 2025!
@@nataliejaneshields Right now my novel is about a couple dealing with their family drama and the emergence of biohacking in society. It was partially inspired by the love letters of Elizabeth Barrett Browing and Robert Browning. A science fiction love story. Let's hope I can pull it off.
I love the idea of doing more writing challenges because my days are so much of the same thing day in and day out. So doing more challenges sound like fun. Thanks for the idea
Excited to see the heights you reach this year! I noticed towards the end of 2024 that you were already actively working on some of these goals! GO YOU!
I’m m looking forward to the writing challenges! This year I am finally getting my website up and publishing my first book of short stories. I’ve created a large body of work, and thanks to keeping up with the schedule set by my writing group, I keep adding to it. I’ve published with our group in anthologies, but I think I’m ready to try something on my own. Wish me luck. 😊
I am also hoping to get my book query ready and to post more consistently! But for me, its the editing film that's harder than the actual filming piece 🙃 Anyways, good luck on your goals and dreams for 2025!!!
Editing is the fun part for me! Actually picking up the camera is the hardest part because I have to look presentable and be extroverted 😂 Good luck with your goals as well!
My dogs already control not only my writing routine but my daily routine in general 😂 If the sun is out and it’s not rainy, I have two hours between play sessions to get stuff done before they come terrorize me!
I love the writing challenge of having to incorporate random paint colors from paint chips into your next section of writing. I know it can generally be easier in poetry or in just trying to get a higher word count, but always makes me laugh and sometimes actually works...?
Monstrilio by Gerardo Sámano Córdova was one of my favorite and most unique reads last year. It’s literary horror and follows a cast of queer characters from Mexico, so if you want to intentionally pick a more diverse read, that’s my rec!
Taylor Ann Wright recommended this to me too! It sounds great but also I’m terrified of horror books 😅 I’ll add it to the list and see if I can get enough courage to read it!
@@nataliejaneshields haha for sure! I don't typically read or watch horror, either. I didn't think it was too bad (it feels more like character studies with slightly ominous and off-putting undertones), but I personally think that if you can get past the first scene without getting freaked out/too much of a visceral ick, you should be fine!!

Adding a dream section to 2025 goals is a great idea.
Thank you! It was fun to incorporate and it hopefully I can look back on some and think “hey I did that” 😊

I remember doing that! Honestly that was so fun. Maybe I’ll resurrect that one 😂
