Use longer bolts. Those things had 2 threads at best, no bueno. At a minimum have a depth at equal to the diameter, even with inserts. So M3 should have minimum of 3mm threads in the insert.
This is the kind of 3D printed stuff I can approve of, not yet another Baby Yoda plastic trash. It would be cool if there were a slicer that fills in circular areas by going in circles
Top layer doesn't need to be winder, he just needs to lower the z-offset. I agree about the retraction settings though, there shouldn't be any antennas on such a simple print. Might also be moist filament.
For those who commented that the screws won't hold. You are wrong they WILL hold. That's what the heat pressed brass inserts are for. The screws screw into those inserts. The threads are brass. Strong enough for sure
why would you do that? use wood. it is a fairly simple build. kids build more complex things in school from handsaws and discard wood. come one people, stop complicating things.

what is filament of lamp cover?
Ugly
people think this is quality, because there is no quality anymore.
Bro trying to break that PEI sheet lol
When you say "elegant" you mean...?
Not even that nice
You need to sort those settings out. That print is terrible
Heat set insert press and a soldering iron with an adapted tip.
@@Vector3DP where can such tools be purchased???
@@dextermorgan2922 Vector3d.co.uk :)
So pretty 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thank you! 🤗
Well made, but a filament bulb is not necessary if you hide it in the lampshade
Definitely not elegant lol good job though
Dang . Ugly kinda
Wow, that's some truly awful print quality. That first layer on the base is hideous.
Satisfied to watch/hear this, but that is no mid century lap. That’s an ugly lap
stop consum plastic
Dang that’s a good idea
Ah nemmmm
Your prints look ass
Now lithophane lamp shades
One of the better printed lamps
Use longer bolts. Those things had 2 threads at best, no bueno. At a minimum have a depth at equal to the diameter, even with inserts. So M3 should have minimum of 3mm threads in the insert.
a Lithophane for a Shade would have been even more amazing!
permanently bend a build plate
Stop bending the pei so much, ow
Looks great! May I ask where you got this PEI plate from?
I would need 4 x 400x400 PEI sheets, which are not rounded.
It’s a “flexible” bed plate not fold in half like a Fn taco. All you have to do is flex it both directions & it pops right off not fold it in half.
So?
that base looks awful...
Not too elegant retraction tho
Looks like shit
Dry that filament & do a retraction tower test. Those zits are nutz!
needs printer paper to diffuse light more evenly.
Mom.. huetA
Rarely seen such a bad first layer
Wow you made a bad looking lamp
Those screws are too short. They should make contact at least 3 full turns.
all you need is 1 full thread if you feel like living dangerous
Reduce your layer thickness so it makes the lines a little. Loser.
💩 quality
That's so Kool but I'd be printing so.many color.shades haha
😎😎😎👍
Nice!
I swear the voron 0 is always so adorable.
What do you call the thing that you screw where he pushed thru the plastic before screwing it?
Brass threaded heat insert
It bothered me how fsr you bent that sheet haha!
Genius! ❤
You need to tune your printer, dawg. That's mediocre quality
Where can I buy those screws that were melted in the plastic?
they looked like brass threaded inserts
Please, find out where your mic is so that you don't rub it like you did at the end. It's a pretty uncomfortable sound. No hate, just letting you know
Cool lamp!
Wow what is that printer called? It is tiny but has, like, an enclosure, coreXY, PEI plate... So cool!
it looks like a voron 0.2
That first layer 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️, also the heat will soften and warp the PLA
Echt tolle Idee 💡 👌, sehr inspirierend
That first layer could use some love
why only thread the screws in one or two turns when you put a whole brass insert in
Which 3d printer are you using for the big print?
It’s such a waste of that beautiful bulb
for the love of god dont ever bend a flex plate like that again
You know it's designed to bend right?
Buddy that’s what they’re designed for
its spring steel you weirdo
Not good... Bad quality, very bad👎
i made a lamp shade before and it melted pla
What is the tool used to set the screw things into the plastic?
What’s that first huge printer?
What model is it?
what is mid-century about this? The three legs? Maybe more post apocalyptic
Plug it in and watch everything melt 👍
PLA (the most common material for 3d printing) melts at 200c although somewhere near 100c it starts to deform
Now thats cool!
Ok but I think I will just go to Walmart and buy one instead.
What is the name of the giant printer?
Definitely need to spend more time than money in the hobby. Learn to tune the printers. The first print was horrific
It's wood filament for one time use on a printer for review. Think about it.
people are crying after watching this...
This is the kind of 3D printed stuff I can approve of, not yet another Baby Yoda plastic trash.
It would be cool if there were a slicer that fills in circular areas by going in circles
You can set it to use concentric infill and it would do exactly that!
Gotta work on them retraction setting and then the temp down. Also, youre top layer needs to be wider.
What would you aim for changing in the retraction settings? I Have this problem and tried a bunch of things already
@@f.a.5865retraction settings didn't change anything for me, lowering the printing temperature helped.
Top layer doesn't need to be winder, he just needs to lower the z-offset. I agree about the retraction settings though, there shouldn't be any antennas on such a simple print. Might also be moist filament.
It kind of looks like a large mayonnaise jar... but a nice one 😅
I thought this was a fake video and was expecting it to start flying. lmao
All this,,for a lamp !!😮
For those who commented that the screws won't hold. You are wrong they WILL hold.
That's what the heat pressed brass inserts are for.
The screws screw into those inserts. The threads are brass. Strong enough for sure
i don't even get that part personally. They would hold for this usage even without inserts, easily.
I think people are more so joking how the screws are threaded in like 3-4 turns 😂
it's not about the clamping force. more so the thread engagement.
Why use a fancy bulb ? It's covered 😢
Mis century? We are in 2023 poeple must past from the XX...
why would you do that?
use wood. it is a fairly simple build. kids build more complex things in school from handsaws and discard wood.
come one people, stop complicating things.
you could make a lithophane lamp
I wydane 10 tysi zeby wydrukowac lampke. Gratuluje . Jedyne co pozostalo to dalej drukowac glupoty.
Nem parece q vai derreter
You are bought the coolest LED balb and capped it!!! Are you SMART!?
