He's not just an immortal, Wukong is a multiple immortal. from the peach of immortality to the god wine and many more he ate and taken so many things that grants immortality that when he was cooked in a cauldron of a god to strip him off his immortality. this usually work with other immortal but not Wukong. He's 7 times immortal if i'm not mistaken. Heck one time he was taken to the underworld, went on a rampage there took the book of death and erase his name alongside multiple of his monkey friend, dude's crazy.
It's a BLACK myth that's what everyone is overlooking. Black myth in reference to journey to the West takes into account the other possibilities of wukong's end. Cause there are multiple speculations such as wukong reincarnating after being sealed, him being released by a monk and reaching enlightenment on his journey, and he died before reaching the west and enlightenment
Honestly people are looking way too much into this and delivering their own head canon. I think the saddest part is that people somehow overlook entirely that this entire game takes place in wukong’s head as he’s encased within the boulder for the thousands of years. So he’s fantasizing all of the different outcomes. Regardless, the final outcome being that he is awaiting to be freed from the boulder now that he’s cleansed his soul of malice. Thus having achieved nirvana in which he’ll ascend to quell the heavens and usher in true tranquility. There is no “new” monkey. There is no reincarnation. There’s none of that. This is literally Wukong visualizing himself at the beginning of his journey and how he forcibly created his own mythos. It really is as simple as that. Nothing more, nothing less. Black myth, simply entails that they were able to place their own design upon the story. And that Wukong himself is the black myth. The monkey who existed, until he achieved nirvana and no longer had to.
@@johnkyl123 I think youre forgetting that wukong doesn't have the circlet around his head by the time he is sealed in ghe mythos so people are totally in the right for assuming this is after his journey as well as from the fact that in the very first cutscene he says that he has already obtained budda hood which happens after he is placed in the mountain
31:40 after fighting the second rat son, if you go to the wall wit a whole bunch of mini statues and use the baby head spirt you’ll break the wall where you can now go inside. After going inside it gives you an item which will now make you able to enter water falls. There’s a waterfall in chapter 2 and 1 both with secret bosses inside which gives you a pretty op early to middle stage staff. Love how some secret areas are having you trigger special things for them. Another cool part is instead of the baby spirit the game originally wants you to try to have the rat son break the wall with his lunge.
There’s also an item you get in Chapter 2 that allows you access to a secret boss area in Chapter 1. This game is full of exploration and stuff to find. A lot more than I expected.
@@Gamelover882 haha I meant specifically that fight itself for me. I watched this after just beating it and it was like I was reliving it all over again lmao
Everyone sleeps on cloud step, it's a free breather. You can drink a brew and recharge stamina with enough time to still hit the strike. It's gotten me out of many tight spots
The reason why this is AFTER even the Journey of the West (which is after he took on the Heavens and was sealed under the mountain). Is because he has the helmet ring that gave him that headache when he was fighting that guard in the beginning. This headband was given to the monk by Buddha (I think) that traveled with Wukong to control him. Also in the beginning Wukong mentions that he decided to leave the council and the scrolls are protected and his master (the monk he took on the journey to the west) is safe. So Wukong split himself into 4 or 5 and your job now is to get all the pieces and revive him .
Hey Afro I know you read the comments a lot as you always say In your videos let me share a secret boss I found which I think you will love. If you go back to the boss arena where the father summoned his other son the First Prince of the flowing sands. ( 33:10 ) You will see a wall that has patterns on it. Well if you go upto that wall and use the spirit wandering wight. It will break the wall making it an accessible area to squeeze through. After squeezing through the wall you will be in a room that will have a chest at the end collecting the item in the chest will give you a key item named “Loong Scales” after acquiring this head back to your nearest shrine and go back to the starting area of the game. When you travel choose these options- black wind mountain - forest of wolves - outside the forest. Once you have spawned here you’ll remember this area as it’s where you got the wandering wright spirit or as you call it “the baby” explore this area until you find a waterfall and you will be able to use the loong scales to remove the waterfall and you will now be able to squeeze through. Doing so will take you straight to the secret boss.
There's also a secret boss from the scales in act 2 at the 1st fright cliffs shrine go right and look for some stairs, at the top of the stairs is a sand waterfall.
I’m seeing a lot of people talk about this so I hope this helps some peeps. When you’re in your transformation you have to dodge when the special bar is full to get the “Ultimate” attack. Depending on which direction you dodge in will also change the type of attack you do. Hope this helps
the wall by the first rat prince can be destroyed by the wight summon and its a hidden path that unlocks scret bosses in the map by collecting a Loong scale (the Loongs, the first one is in the waterfall in the first chapter)
Afro, where you fought the rat kings first son, there is a clay wall you can break that takes you to an item that gives u access to another secret boss found in the first area. 33:44
27:45 if you kill the father first the son gets enraged. The best outcome is to work the prince down then kill the father, then finish off the prince. If you do it this way the prince/son drops a spirit move.
I accidentally got the son to kill the dad, made him slow down his attacks and cry the whole fight. Was pretty cool that they designed that as a possibility.
Hey afrosenju, a tip with the armor that I found out myself. You have set bonuses that only kick in if you have the mask. The new armor you got from golden haired big head guy has a mask and gives you great stats. Of course you can always hide your mask for the look.
16:05 to do the ultimate in your transformation form you must first build up the focus bar in the bottom right, once full you have to dodge then immediately heavy attack. Forward dodge: ground slam Side dodge: cyclone spin Back dodge: jumping slash dash

Afro, the second area has more hidden areas, the map is much bigger, the major hidden part is triggered by the drunk pig, you need to first wake him up from drunk status with a special stone, which can be found either from a random breakable pot, or purchased from a npc traped in stone after you completed his quest (beat the stationary rock boss which will give you another summoning), then the pig will relocate to the tiger temple, find him and talk to him, then he will go to another location near a giant gate, beat him then he will take you to the hidden map/quest. The second hidden area is under a well. You can find it by first beat a blade welding boss on a bridge (very frustrating cause he will knock you off the bridge to instant death if not careful), then go to 3 different location to trigger the key item you obtained from this boss, then you will get into the well to fight another boss. And there are a lot more in this map I'm legitimately lost😂😂

Did you find the secret hub area with the tiger blacksmith I think he's the hardest fight after you get him past halfway he doesn't end his strings at all he also unlocks a goated transformation
You find the hub area by beating up that old loong on the beach and going to the guy who makes you pills and talking to him and then bringing the old Loong medicine
Yooo about the summoning - To use the special attack on red tides, you perform a heavy attack right after a successful dodge. It’s right underneath the other two moves on the side of your screen lol, it just doesn’t appear until your focus gauge is full.
0:28 afro you missed the secret boss 😂 there are 3 bells in chapter 1 that u interact with in order to fight the elder boss. The first bell is behind Guangzi ( the fire spear wolf chief boss ) The second bell is also behind Gangmou ( the wind poison fan chief boss ) And last Third is at the cave you see on you're left when you fight Whiteclade noble, you fight some wolves there and behind them is a bell. When you interact with that last bell then you get teleported to the secret boss. Gl afrosenju! If you see this. Extra* There is also a waterfall boss in chapter 1 by the Forest keepers shrine, but first you need to break the wall where the 2nd prince is or lure the 2nd prince to break the wall with his forward lunge while fighting so you can get the long scales in order to fight the waterfall boss in chapter 1 and also there's another one in chapter 2 bit you need to get a key for that boss.
30:00 Those are Buddha heads there are six of them scattered around when you come across the big rock golem boss (you'll know) there is another big rock in the back left of the arena. Deliver the buddha head's energy to the rock in the corner and let the bosses fight each other... Be sure to assist the boss that is losing to make it easier for yourself. (I learned about this too late, perhaps you can make it happen; i wanna see the bosses fight each other) Good luck Afro Monke!
You are playing the story AFTER journey to the west ENDED. The beginning wukong says "my master safe, the scriptures sound" meaning they completed their journey to collect the scrolls around the world, his master reached enlightenment and thats that. For some reason after the journey ended. Wukong returns home to find his tribe slaughtered so he runs up to heaven to pick a fight. And that is where the story begins in game.
So just a tip, when you fought the big rat guy at around 33-34 mins there is a wall there that he could break, but you can also break it using the blue baby summon, doing so opens up a crack in the wall for you to get these scales, with those scales you can unlock a secret boss fight in chapter 1 behind the water fall, teleport to the "Out side the forest" or whatever it's called to get there but you need the scales to fight the boss first. Those scales open up a few secret boss fights around a single theme.
Quick tip on beating yellow Long. Keep your distance and spam the heavy smash and when available use the freeze spell to deal damage in-between. Also had big bady equipped and used him when I could and got some good damage in. Going head on with him is madness, but also possible if you are a master at evading but with my technique he was kind of easy. Good Luck
All transformations controls are written on the left side, when the ult is charged the controls are displayed on the left side of the screen. If you killed the father then you would've gotten piece of rotten meat which you would throw off the cliff to get the boss **Spoiler Below**. You can break the wall with faces near that big rodent boss by using his rush attack or the wrath spirit attack. Inside wall you can get a item which allows you to go behind waterfall in chapter 1.
I haven't finished the game yet but gonna tell a bit about the various stories of journey to the west based on the past comic/series/drama/movies/etc. As a Chinese and grown up with journey to the west and almost watch every single of it. To summaries, Wu Kong is a special talented monkey who became godly strong at a short period of time hence he also became a trickster. He got trapped by Buddha since he deserved a second chance to be a better monkey but it took him 500 years. So some stories will tell what happened between these 500 years where he slowly gain his rational and behave before he meets his sifu master and academic junior brothers who journey together to the west. Some may tell that his power has been shattered and scattered all over the places so he's trying to regain and understand the proper use of them.
The ending of this video is pure kino. I completed this boss on the third try in the same exact situation but managed to clutch it. Now I can imagine how it could have felt to mess it up with some extra dramatic flair. This and the secret dance dance revolution bull are my favorite bosses from the first two chapters. Fun game so far and seeing how other people play after you have done with a boss is a fun way to go through the game. It is kind of eerie how my attempts mirror these tries. Mostly one shot bosses in the early chapters apart from angst albino and the first bobble head dude. It is dodge the video game with a nice amount of Swiss knife options with the rest and I am absolutely fine with it so far. Just have to remember the extra stuff I can do to level things out sometimes which has a nice element of "I should have done that" after I fail at something. The game play between the bosses isn't quite as good as with souls games but the bosses are the highlight and there are many.

the longer episode lengths are awesome! i like it better than the shorter episodes. Also waking up everyday to a new afro episode makes every morning something to look forward to
He's not just an immortal, Wukong is a multiple immortal. from the peach of immortality to the god wine and many more he ate and taken so many things that grants immortality that when he was cooked in a cauldron of a god to strip him off his immortality. this usually work with other immortal but not Wukong.
Thanks, didn't know about that
Honestly people are looking way too much into this and delivering their own head canon.
@@johnkyl123 Lets me guess, you didn't beat the secret boss Erlang Shen and get the other ending.
@@huealter3366 You do realize that still doesn’t free wukong right lol. He’s still in the boulder.
@@johnkyl123
I think youre forgetting that wukong doesn't have the circlet around his head by the time he is sealed in ghe mythos so people are totally in the right for assuming this is after his journey as well as from the fact that in the very first cutscene he says that he has already obtained budda hood which happens after he is placed in the mountain
19:35 "2 headed Rat what is your build dawg" 😂😂😂😂
A new Afro episode is like the new episode of an anticipated anime! Also JESUS!! That scream was something from a horror movie!! Was Afro murdered?!!
There’s also an item you get in Chapter 2 that allows you access to a secret boss area in Chapter 1. This game is full of exploration and stuff to find. A lot more than I expected.
The end with that scream you unleashed, that was me too, friend. That was too..😮💨
Had my blood pressure high with that ending
@@Gamelover882 haha I meant specifically that fight itself for me. I watched this after just beating it and it was like I was reliving it all over again lmao
If he only retreated to gain some distance he would've won
Everyone sleeps on cloud step, it's a free breather. You can drink a brew and recharge stamina with enough time to still hit the strike. It's gotten me out of many tight spots
I really enjoy the long videos about this game
The reason why this is AFTER even the Journey of the West (which is after he took on the Heavens and was sealed under the mountain). Is because he has the helmet ring that gave him that headache when he was fighting that guard in the beginning. This headband was given to the monk by Buddha (I think) that traveled with Wukong to control him. Also in the beginning Wukong mentions that he decided to leave the council and the scrolls are protected and his master (the monk he took on the journey to the west) is safe.
So Wukong split himself into 4 or 5 and your job now is to get all the pieces and revive him .
The final boss gonna take this man 5 episodes
43:46 it wasn't his game
Bro broke his controller 😣😩
Wukong is one of the few characters that no matter if you use the lorewise or gamewise counterpart, He can still beat 80% of fictional characters
That headless rocker was in my mind the whole day after hearing his beats. Makes me jam from a game tune in a while
43:46 i feel you bro
Ayy I'm glad to see the Star Wars frog is back lol at least Afro didn't have PTSD like last time
I’m seeing a lot of people talk about this so I hope this helps some peeps.
The ending is the best thing ever 😂🤣😂
Bro I’m on the last chapter been addicted to the game literally glued once I get off of work I run straight to the game 😭
27:45 if you kill the father first the son gets enraged. The best outcome is to work the prince down then kill the father, then finish off the prince. If you do it this way the prince/son drops a spirit move.
It then you can’t fight the secrect boss
@@MIKUIEL yes you can, you just have to go where he's at and interact with the edge of the cliff.
I accidentally got the son to kill the dad, made him slow down his attacks and cry the whole fight. Was pretty cool that they designed that as a possibility.
@@DaDoctor42 that's pretty cool, like a debuff for feeling bad killing his own pa. It's small stuff like that, that makes this game so cool.
@@Crazyfayze right!? Like afro keeps saying, 4 years well spent!
Bread approves
Excellent. This is what we strive for🎉
Hey afrosenju, a tip with the armor that I found out myself. You have set bonuses that only kick in if you have the mask. The new armor you got from golden haired big head guy has a mask and gives you great stats. Of course you can always hide your mask for the look.
The ending gold😂😂 the tiger fire
16:05 to do the ultimate in your transformation form you must first build up the focus bar in the bottom right, once full you have to dodge then immediately heavy attack.
Forward dodge: ground slam
Side dodge: cyclone spin
Back dodge: jumping slash dash
Afro hasn’t figured out his health gore is still set to minnie, when he needs to switch to trailblazer WOMBO
These are coming out so fast I thought I had seen this one already! Respect Afro!
This series is fire
Game is fire too I just got how the combat worked earlier today. The growth goes crazy 💯
@@bigred212that counterattack with the first stance is so satisfying when you start hitting it back to back. The abilities are insane and plentiful. Im loving this game
@@Peter_ParkedCar I still haven't got that counter off but I'm assuming it's a mid combo type deal like the varied combos
@@bigred212 you use the heavy attack as you’re getting hit and you’ll do the heavy without being staggered and taking damage
It’s like a parry or is a parry idk
Aww mane, lock in peoples 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 Da crashout at the end was classic lol 😭😭😭😭😭😭
STREETS NEEDED TIS FRRRRRRRRR. Shout out to Afro!!! Thank you bro for your genuine ass viddeos/reactions man! watching you play wukong has me sold 100%
34:10 Afro ignored the spirit drop
Afro unintentionally running away from almost every shrine has got me dying
🤣🤣🤣 oh that controller is DONE!!
Afro kinda cooked with the Elder bobble head. And that ending 😂 I feel the pain
Also, another cool detail, each time the headless dude singing was actually teaching you how to fight the next boss.
11:06 wukong starts his journey to enlightenment after the 500 years he spent under the mountain of the 5 elements when buddha put him there
40 mins to an hour every episode is going to be so good this series is going to be real meaty
Bro really choked and crashed out all in one haha. Bruh you had that in the bag WTH did you do🤣? I think he demolished his controller. Be on the lookout for a wild Leon on the prowl for a new controller in a Best Buy near you!
that dodge sequence @37:10 is just too smooth the way the character frontflip rolls over that boss' slashing combo 🔥
@42:27 perfect dodge between the legs into freeze after the boss closing in on afro too smooth
Feel like the difficulty for bosses jumps up chap 3, went from first trying everyone to getting stalled by nearly every king
🧢
@@shinobiofashina2168 the tiger gives a dope ass transformation, totally worth beating him
To perform a heavy attack in your transformed state, first ensure your gauge is full. Then, after dodging, press the heavy attack button.
You missed a really important boss on the first level
Bruh u playing this game has to be the funniest gameplay ever😂
The ending 😮😂😂😂😂
Yooo about the summoning - To use the special attack on red tides, you perform a heavy attack right after a successful dodge. It’s right underneath the other two moves on the side of your screen lol, it just doesn’t appear until your focus gauge is full.
0:28 afro you missed the secret boss 😂 there are 3 bells in chapter 1 that u interact with in order to fight the elder boss.
The first bell is behind Guangzi ( the fire spear wolf chief boss )
The second bell is also behind Gangmou ( the wind poison fan chief boss )
And last Third is at the cave you see on you're left when you fight Whiteclade noble, you fight some wolves there and behind them is a bell.
This is exactly like goku where he is strong so he just wants to challenge and take down everyone because he can
No Goku is like this guy not the reverse😂
anime weebs never fails to be I see
bro the ending😂😂😂we need the next video!!
Here we go with the “ ONLY 0.5 only have this item” titles now 😭
Afro, the Wukong lore is INSANE bro! You gotta watch some shows or videos about him after for sure!
That ending was stuff of legend
the ending edit 😂😂 pure comedy
42:57 for those yall who don’t know, if you heavy attack with 3 focus charges when Tiger goes into stones, you can break the stone and stagger him.
My boi looked right at that bat spirit said "nothing" and walked away without taking it 😂
You are playing the story AFTER journey to the west ENDED.
Lol the rage quit with his controller shattering at the end was GOLD!!
Wish we could see face-cam while playing. The last rage would’ve been epic to see 😂
So just a tip, when you fought the big rat guy at around 33-34 mins there is a wall there that he could break, but you can also break it using the blue baby summon, doing so opens up a crack in the wall for you to get these scales, with those scales you can unlock a secret boss fight in chapter 1 behind the water fall, teleport to the "Out side the forest" or whatever it's called to get there but you need the scales to fight the boss first.
Yo I just watched your other wukong video gang, you are awesome bro!
Something so funny about casually saying "please be nice to me 🥺" to this bigass tiger
2:11 haha “my man in the chair”😂
Yo, the way Wukong tanks hits in this game is just wild! Makes me wanna suit up for real haha. 🔥 Also, the graphics are just chef's kiss, can't believe how beautiful it looks! 🤩
Dunno if you’ll see this but one thing you should REALLY do is get three focus points as quickly as possible. You can get them by putting 20 points into “Staff Stances”. It makes your heavy attack hit ridiculously hard and is a huge help.
"Mash less and miss more" had me wheezing😂I wasn't ready for the end though😮I felt the pain😩So close. But you'll get it. No problem. Then onto the next.
The singing dude is my favorite character by a mile
If Afro Keeps Dropping Consistent Vids That’s Almost An Hour Long Then This Game Is Definitely Getting Game Of The Year 😂
OMG THE END 🤣😭
