For decades Cadillac has done a great job of styling cars - at least since the ‘90s. Sharp, elegant, “well-dressed” looks, and subtle design cues that run throughout all models. The cars succeed in looking like a Cadillac - and won’t get confused with any other cars.
I use to buy performance sedans but the roads in the US can fluctuate too much.Luckily they make performance suvs and you dont have to worry about scraping your front scoop on a speed bump or a rim getting dinged up on a bad road
The CT-5 Blackwing is sweet! I Love (LOVE!) my 2024 CT-4 Blackwing. I opted for the smaller CT-4 (personal preference). And to the miserable haters and trolls out there I'll just say, "You do you."
I am the proud owner of a CTS V Blackwing 4. It shares the same chassis and suspension as the 5 and has a twin turbo V6 w 6spd manual. It’s also about $30k less expensive. Definitely worthy of consideration if you’re looking at a Cadillac Blackwing!
We rode in one at Lime Rock! Great car, takes abuse and continues to perform, very happy getting its tail out, and the TT V6 produces a respectable amount of power that pulls pretty well in the range you would access most on the street.
@@AudrainMuseumNetwork ❤️ with a slight tune I am now at 543 hp at the crank; an increase of 72hp. Power to weight ratio of 7.09 vs 8.15 stock. It’s a noticeable improvement!
Cadillac was very serious about entering the EV market. They went through a major downsize with the announcement of going fully electric and some dealers said yay while others said nay! The ones who didn’t see the vision are no longer with the brand.
My wife and I have driven nothing but vans, minivans, trucks and SUVs for decades. Hauling stuff and family. I’m now looking to get rid of stuff and family is long ago grown up. Some are close, most have moved, due to service enlistment. I still have my truck even through 15 years of New Hampshire winters. We just traded in the wife’s 2018 GMC Yukon XL Denali for a new Chrysler 300L. The Yukon was the first non Mopar vehicle we’ve had in 40 years. Won’t go into too much detail but, I’m glad it’s gone. I love the 300 so far. Great to be back in something fun again.
Absolutely fantastic car. Ive had my 2018 for a few years and the only thing i dislike is they didn't offer it in a manual. I also haf the 05 CTS V and loved that 6 speed. In closing id like to day it's great to see a black man doing this type of review on a greay GM product. New subscriber
Wow! A beautiful car! I would definitely buy one of I could afford to and had the connections to get one since, as you said, only 21 (I think) were produced.
Beautiful car. Like all CTVs. Especially the wagon. My dream car the wagon. With a manual. Cadillac has never gotten the respect it deserves. It's hard to keep from drowning in JDM and German/ European cars. Nice to see a true American sedan. ❤❤️💜🤎👍😎
For me Donald it could be any high performance european car. I still have very fond memories of my 1969 4.2 litre SWB XJ6 that l had as a 23year old in '75/6 . In many ways the Cadillac of it's time . Thankyou Donald
U know everyone is raving so much about the new CTS4,5 Cadillacs and the Blackwings. But I truly believe and feel that the CTS COUPE CADILLAC 3.6L PREMIUM and the CADILLAC made in that amazing time frame are infinite amazing!!! Yes, the new CADILLAC do have more HP. But the hp is not everything!!! The CTS COUPE CADILLAC are very awesome and elegant!!! I have a CTS COUPE CADILLAC 2011 and I wouldn't trade it for no car or money even for $90,000 thousands dollars or even 1000,000 dollars!!! That's a promise in Jesus Christ name!!
Beautiful sedan. Cadillac has nailed it. All the luxury and performance you will ever need. Full EV’s are so unpractical. Keep them in them golf carts where they belong. Meant for short quick distances. HYBRIDS are the way to go like the small Prius based Lexus 200.
Thank you for the review and for wise comments - we really have to admit that the solution for future is still in the mixture of technologies... ICE still have their place. And the world without V8 rumble would be sad.
I traded my C8 for this….the C8 Z51 HTC just didn’t do it for me. I should’ve kept my C7Z 7m, oh my! The Wing is (to me) the 4-door version of my C7Z. Go for a test drive, you’ll enjoy it!!
Its so unusual that cadillac hasnt translated track elan to the showroom floor.....i remember a real beauty of a concept car that bob lutz leadership brought out
Because they don’t give Americans what they want, big cars not this tiny sedan. Look only at their biggest seller which is Escalade and yet they make tiny sedans. Then they wonder why it don’t sell. 🤷♂️
.....I'd want one.....MANUAL!!!! HAHAHAHH!!!!..... of course i'm sure they are all going by the dinosaurs... glad I got my Challenger scat pack (in stick) when I did..
Donald, You should have mentioned the early sixties Jaguar 3.8 Mark 2 Sedan. A true high performance sedan. I digress, you might remember in 1960 GM had the Cadillac fined dinosaur and the Corvair, neither made it againist the Japanese high quality small car onslaught, nor now will GM make the sucessful transition to electric, they are too vested into gas, sorry.
Tiny is relative and the wheels are alloys. They're not bending under normal circumstances including heavy track use. I would drive this sized car (or any vehicle) cross country, but if I were inclined, I'd go for a full sized SUV, not a bigger sedan.
I love the video first off, I look at the body shapes and headlight design and It never make me go Wow that's a "put a classic name here" For me when I see a classic I go omg that was a example: My car 1949 Ford 5 window Coupe or my 77 Mercury Grand Marquis Bromham. Today cars are so generic other than the drive train and comfort in 20 years they will not even exist. Faded everything to the point of now it's not attractive. Nothing electronic works and so and so. I think the creativity went from should we to can we... 40+ years of plastics that was supposed to cut the cost of cars down did the exact opposite. Other than Alfa Romeo or the Supra nothing has that POP. They sell cars on drive trains and not style anymore. This makes me very sad. being a former mechanic to see you need 8 hours labor to change a headlight can f off! Unreal. Even the F 40 doesn't take that much time! Now spark plugs, drop the motor, Well you had the money to buy it!
Only making twenty of them is hardly committed to normal ppl buy8ng these cars , if you wanted one you sure as heck can’t go down to Cadillac dealer and order one 😂, at all ! Maybe you can get a blackwing but I doubt it
If Audi built rear wheel drive, supercharged V-8s with manual transmissions, magneride dampers, excellent handing, and yes, had worse interior design and fitments.
Cadillac used to be known as top interiors, last 20 years they have had the worst interiors thats one reason knobody bought them, plus they always had chrome trim all over that also jnobidy wants anymore. This ine looks much better That screen ind infotainment set up is still bottom tear.
Have you seen reviews where it's driven on track, and pretty much all the reviewers, who drive lots of cars on track, complemented not just its power but also it's handling, described the manual shifter as better than BMW's, and said it was more exciting and involving than an M5? They also uniformly said the interior is not up to European standards. I suppose it depends on why one buys a car.
No no no..... I wish this garbage car wasn't on this channel. The car is made of Chinese parts. In 5 years this, I can't call it a car, will be broken and worth half of what you pay for today. Definitely has dumb down what has been presented in the past.
Could you please tell me the percentage of Chinese parts? I know that the engine is hand built in the United States and for this car much of the vehicle is. I have seen multiple reviews of this car on track with the reviewers stating uniformly that in addition to being fast, it handles particularly well and the ride is particularly comfortable on the street, given its track abilities. They describe the shifter as better than BMW's, and the car more engaging than an M5. They also uniformly agree the interior is not up to European standards. Having owned several (manual) BMWs, including a 540i M-technic V-8 with 6-speed manual, I know that outside of warranty, if one is not willing to spend a not insubstantial amount of money on repairs (I cannot remember anything costing less than $250, and it went up rapidly from there), BMWs become crap cars as well. For instance, two new water pumps (335i) installed by the dealership in *2 1/2* years, particularly when the warranty for said pump is *two* years. The last V-8, manual, four-door sedan/saloon extant, as BMW is stopping manual production in 2025, the car has historical significance as well.
It's a stick shift!!?!? Ooooo WEEEE!!
@@SouthernGent44 The best response. You get a pin!😆
I am madly in love with this car.
I have that same model, except it is Black on Black. It's an amazing car.
Thanks so much for showcasing this car. I love the concept: “Nothing to see here, officer, it’s just an old-man Cadillac.”
GM getting some things right. What a car...
"Wind whipping through your scalp." Respect.

Unfortunately with so few people buying coupes or sedans they are becoming a rare breed, and performance version even more so
I use to buy performance sedans but the roads in the US can fluctuate too much.Luckily they make performance suvs and you dont have to worry about scraping your front scoop on a speed bump or a rim getting dinged up on a bad road
The german manufacturers still seem to be selling sedans along with performance variants in masses.

Fellow owner of a Blackwing 4. Love the car too. Enjoy!
I am thinking about a CT4 V or BW to go along with the vettes
Cadillac & performance are two words so intriguing.

Love the fact that they have this in a manual shift🔥🔥🔥
Best part!
This is probably the best sedan you can get while you can for sure.
Beautiful cars! Unfortunately I don’t see as many new Cadillacs in my area anymore. We lost two Cadillac dealers in my area the past few years.

Great vehicle, but that interior colour scheme could be improved. The standard interior would be my personal choice.
I so wish my father would trade his F90 M5 for one of these.

Wow
Love your videos. However, are you sure it's to commemorate 20 years of the Blackwing? I thought it was to commemorate 20 years of the V Series trim.
Correct! It is to commemorate 20 years of the V-Series. The full model name of the car is the CT5-V Blackwing 20th Anniversary.
Yeah for sure. In fact people were amd are upset they gave up on V name and went to blackwing. But this dude don’t know recent stuff.
They did not give up on the "V name." This is still a V-Series car. "Blackwing" is in addition to the "V" designation - an even higher trim.

With tires with so little sidewall, there is no way you can drive this tiny Caddy across America without getting bent wheels and flat tires.
