Obi-Wan's anger over seeing his master getting stabbed gave him the upper hand during his fight with Darth Maul. Obi-Wan was still angry at Qui-Gon for leaving him being during the battle. Darth Maul knew that Obi-Wan would give him more of a challenge than Qui-Gon did. After getting his double-bladed lightsaber sliced in half, Maul knew he was done toying with the Jedi apprentice and needed to end the fight. In Attack of the Clones when Obi-Wan fought Darth Tyranus, he was already worn out from fighting battle droids in the Geonosis arena. However instead of being defensive, Obi-Wan would have defeated Tyranus using the lightsaber form 4 Artaru and without needing Anakin and Yoda's help. Even at age 35, Obi-Wan was still just as quick as he was in during The Phantom Menace. In truth, Obi-Wan actually sliced Darth Maul in half two times during their first fight. It would have cool to see Darth Maul fight Obi-Wan on the dessert planet Tatoonine like we saw on a movie poster.
Mauls actually more powerful and better duellist than most think, especially his duelling. His arrogance just screws him every time pretty much and he plays either his food

consider that neither Anakin nor Luke bled out with their hands/limbs sliced off by light saber. The light saber may serve to cauterize as it slices... but then again SW contradicts this when Kylo slices and kills Snoke in the same way... 🤷🏿♂️
Pay attention to the shadow of Obie-Wan when he is force jumping from the pit and you’ll see the difference in Obie-Wan arms open and the shadows arm is in a different position….😂. Am I wrong? Let me know please….

I would say he defeated obi won but he underestimated how dangerous a defeated obi won is.

Darth maul did beat Obi-Wan at first. Obi wan outsmarted him at the right time while Maul's arrogance get the better of him. Cool video though.
