I EVEN BYPASSED LOCK AND LOOKED AT THE WASH CYCLE AND FOUND OUT WHY THEY LOCK THE LID IT WAS PATHETIC. THE WATER LEVEL WAS SO LOW THAT SOME OF THESE CLOTHES WERE NOT EVEN WET THRU THE WHOLE CYCLE!
I have an HE top loader - and my conclusion is that the Govt has ruined the washing machines of today. However, I add in the clothes dump 2 gallons on water on top of them - and the thing runs like a champ. Less stress on the washer, clothes and less noise - cleaner clothes and no need to re-rinse..
Whirlpool please put back in the old school agitator, just because these are "HE" if you have to put cloths back in about 2 or 3 times your wasting more water and soup so your not saving us anything.
If I was going for an 'HE' type washer, I think simple physics says the front loaders are better for agitating the wash than this top-loader. I've got a 7 year-old Whirlpool standard top-loader and it finally broke. I fixed it myself and it still looks brand new. I think I might as well keep it as long as I can get parts!
We've had our washer for a few weeks and have yet to get a load to come out clean. We've read the instructions several times, we're doing everything correctly and we're still getting same result. Very disappointing.
I have to agree with most of the folks, here. After reading/following the instructions for using this type of washer, I must say my clothes are noticeably NOT as clean as when using a traditional washer. Simple stains are still present upon post wash inspection. Thankfully, I learned this from using a relatives washer, and will not be investing in this type of machine. Trust me when I tell you this- I used to work at a dry cleaning plant, and ran all of the machines we had on site.
HE washing machines are garbage. I've had nothing but problems with both of mine. I've had a cherry red LG front loader & a Maytag Bravos without an agitator. Both garbage! I don't care what anyone says, you need enough water to get the clothes cleaned properly. The end. I never want to smell that musty smell again that I constantly came across with my HE machines. Now that ive gotten a new washer that fills to the top with guess what?! Water!!!! Ive yet to smell that musty again.
these washers do NOT clean your clothes good! I had to wash my clothes at the laundry mate just to get em clean! The He dryers work really well though.
I am so surprised to come across this! I though it was just my machine. I purchased four years ago and had it warranty...come with it from Sears. I had some problems but they came and said it was off balance. They fixed it. But later, the problem raised. Again and again...like you said my clothes are half dry on the top. not well rinsed. blah balh. I wish to conserve water and engery but this sucks! Glad to know I am not crazy! It is GE Profile 2009, by the way.
I totally regret our cabrio washer purchase. It twist clothing into tight knots and then is totally unbalanced in the spin cycle. It doesn't clean clothes properly. Sometimes clothes come out and there are dry spots on them. I hate this machine, I wish I still had my fifteen year old Kenmore.
@MrDstankovich The new design of this agitator or "pulsator" is referred to as an impeller. The reason behind it being an estimated rotations per minute (if that's what your referring to) is due to how large the load is. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Sincerely, Kyle
These people are just looking to grand stand. The majority have never even bought these machines. I purchased my Cabrio twins nearly two years ago. I love them! The clothes, bedding, towels, you name it all come out very clean. The machine spins so fast the clothes are just damp dry which makes my gas dryer use less energy drying. I now use a lot less energy and water which are a great savings. Best of all, my laundry time has been cut by two thirds! Thank you Whirlpool!
TonyStone31, I am sorry to hear about your experience. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your HE top load washer please feel free to contact me directly by e-mail. Whirlpool_Digital@whirlpool_._com Thanks, Kyle B.
@madlyderanged I am sorry to hear you feel that way regarding our HE washing machines. If you are experiencing a problem or have any questions on your washer please email us directly at Whirlpool_Digital@Whirlpool_._com Sincerely, Kyle B.
serrocXIII- The level of the water was designed specifically to meet the requirements of the Department of Energy requirements. There is not a way to change the water level. However, the bulky cycle and heavy duty cycles do allow for slightly more water to enter the basket. I hope this answers your question. Thank you, Melanie.
Maybe you should look the world efficiency: it means faster, higher quality using less energy/resources. The world high-efficiency doesn't mean, slower using less water and electricity, I believe the world you are looking for is Eco-friendly.
We just purchased 6 Whirlpool Cam2762tq3 Coin Op. Machines to replace older SpeedQueens. They look great BUT the wash only has 12" of water But the rinse only has about 5" in the one machine and 6" in another machine on Rinse. It's so frustrating and the Hot water isn't really hot just above warm. Why can't there be a adjustment on these units or is this the way the idiots in Washington want it? Anyone have any answers? Otherwise the machines work great just need more water esp. rinse.
@TheGalwayfan I'm sorry to learn you are unhappy with your washer. You are welcome to send your contact information to Whirlpool.Digital@whirlpool_._com, and we can look into your concerns futher (do not use the underscores). Sincerely, Melanie
Is there annyway to change the water level on one of these? I just bought a used one yesterday from someone who moved out-of-state, so its not like I can return it.
My Whirlpool Cabrio is a piece of junk!!! The clothes come out of it wrinkled and still dirty. I have to rinse twice and yes, I use he detergeant. i am about to send it to the junkyard and get an old fashioned machine with an agitator!
If I knew then what I know now I damn would not have one. ''whirlpool cabrio'' the only thing good about it is it spins nearly dry, BUT the lent and dirt and stuff are still on the clothes......I about to ask if there is away to get more water in it, the woman let me know that the agrement I purchased would not pay for that. That was all I could from her.

Hello Paul, depending upon the model of top loading HE washer you purchase depends on if there is a full agitator or not. You may find our entire product line at Whirlpool_._com (Please disregard the underscores). It uses less water so that it may meet the high standards of energy efficiency set by the Government and EPA.
Hi Ab102798, even though it may seem counterintuitive the longer wash time along with the lower water consumption does provide for a more energy efficient washing machine. Please let us know if you should have any other questions regarding our HE washing machines. Thanks, Kyle

I don't know why most people here are having such problems. I've been using this washer now for 2 1/2 years. It is a fantastic washing machine. It cleans better than any agitator washer ever did. It washes three times the amount of clothes in 1/3 the water. I am saving on detergent, water and hot water. Matter of fact, I use Tide HE for Coldwater, I hardly ever use all hot water anymore. I can only conclude these dissatisfied customers are either doing something wrong or aren't using them.

That's just for customer service purposes. The truth is most of these people either don't have one yet feel qualified to express an opinion or they have one and never bothered to read the instructions. I have this washer and have never experienced these issues.
These machines are not worth the problems. My parents are on their second washer. The first one was fine for two years and then it would display UL (uneven load) and shut down even though the load was balanced just fine. The repair guy replaced the circuit board and it still did the same thing three weeks after being repaired. My parents replaced the machine only to have the same thing happen six months later.

Whirlpool, please don't stop making the old fashion full fill top loaders. I have had my Whirlpool washer and dryer for 28 years.
I put it on Bulky Cycle and you get much more water in the tub that way! Works great!

Here's 25 cents. That will pay for your shower water usage for a month.
