My OCD is so triggered with the room tour. I've sailed the Epic 3 times, solo cabin, inside, and balcony. It was a unique, imperfect experience each time. Still beats a land vacation. This popped up in my feed and I got all kinds of good feels . . .
Your video brought back all the bad memories of my February 2023 cruise on the Epic. All entertainment venues were way overcrowded, especially the smaller ones. No space to get away. I have cruised similar itineraries on Princess, HAL and Celebrity and had much better experiences ... at a lower price to boot.
Was on the Epic a couple weeks after you. Had a great time. Quirky but fun ship. Still busy but more than manageable. The bar lines are not that long when you consider nearly every adult had the free drink package from FAS. Also, day 1 always seems more crowded since everyone is on deck 15 waiting for their cabin. (Except those of us who went to Taste for lunch) Best wishes! Happy Cruising!
Yeah, I upgraded to the Premium Plus beverage package, and I understand I am a bit spoiled from the experience on Virgin Voyages. And, I had a good time. But, I feel that there was way too much time spent on Epic waiting and/or being told "we are out of that" for bottled water or Red Bull advertised on the upgraded package.
It looks like they under staffed, I am sailing on her later this year, I might have to change my mind.I have sailed ncl several times in the last few years and I am gold, but I am reconsidering it.
I was on this ship this February it was the worst boat old, rust on balcony, dirty. Cabin. Uncomfortable bed. The ports were nice the boat not accommodating. Very crowded boat. Small hot tubs and pools. Long wait time for restaurants. Shows Beatles good and Burn the floor.
Back in the 1980's and 1990's, John Ascuaga's Nugget in Reno designed about 80 rooms that were meant for sleeping only. It had a bed that was just a bit smaller than the room and a separate toilet and shower that was identical to the Epic. It is great if you are by yourself or with a spouse. However, if you are with a friend, teh lack of privacy is terrible. It is the WORST designed room on a cruise ship.
In most cases, the people checked larger bags. This was their hand luggage, as they couldn't get into their cabins until 3PM. Additionally, (and especially for larger luggage) there was a place onboard you could store it until 3PM. Aside from that, the reasons for not checking a bag include damage, delays, and missing baggage.
We went on this ship for our first ever cruise... It was our last! HORRIBLE!!! Food sucks, lines suck, staff sucks, in cabin phone didn't work, TV was very dim and couldn't adjust it, wasn't able to port, vanity soap dispenser leaked into my medicine container, and the off board took us 2 HOURS!!! AVOID THIS SHIP AT ALL COST!!!
This ship is old and should be retired. NCL is just to cheap to let it go. I sailed in Europe last year. Horrible food, mean and nasty crew (except for my cabin steward Jeff, he was amazing and should get off this ship), horrible ship design, rusty with paint chipping all around the deck. Please don't sail on this ship. Too many other nice ones out there.
It improves profitability. In my opinion, many of their customers are resistant to move away from the familiar, even if it's lackluster. After this experience I can tell you, the majority of people I sailed with have agreed to look at other lines that allow kids, namely Holland America.
They treat their staff poorly. In February 2023, they got rid of all of the assistant room attendants and demoted the senior room attendants to a room attendant with a pay cut. The Epic room staff started around 8 am and worked straight through until 8 pm, 2-3 hour MORE than any other cruise line that I have been on. They worked until Midnight the night before disembarkation moving all of the luggage to the appropriate corridors.

Agreed. It's just I did Epic twice and the two experiences were so different.
Thank you, fabulous video. You should have more subscribers!
Thank you! 😃 Make it so, please!

Who ever designed the bathrooms on the Epic, balcony cabin must of been high LOL
The Epic was built in a French shipyard. Their regular contractor in Germany built all of the others.
Viva, Prima, and Aqua are from an Italian shipbuilder who also built Scarlet, Valiant, Resilient, and Brilliant Lady ships.

I will never understand why people drag their luggage onboard the ship on embarkation day.

There are many choices in cruise lines. Most of my clients go where Unlimited Wi-Fi, gratuities, and all specialty restaurants are INCLUDED.
Did any passengers complain about your drone?
No, I didn't use a drone. It's a 360° camera.
lol a drone wouldn't 'fly' on a cruise ship.. pun intended.. A drone would be confiscated if out and in use on the ship so fast it wouldnt be funny

Too many people
WHY is a huge ship under staff??
