When they performed this Bolero performance at Tokyo Dome, it was towards the end of their concert ie after performing more than 30 songs. They were so tired but still pulled it off!

This performance is the encore of their tokyo dome concert.. so this like after 24 or 25 songs... And after a lot of dance song also... So the tune might over the place,, it's just their emotion in this performance is really good make us ignore a lot of mistake here...
The harmony that the 5 voices of TVXQ brought to the life stage was breath taking... Apart from being an emotional song they commented once that This concert was the columination of thier Japanease work. they started from zero in Japan with concerts with less than 1000 people and after 3 years thy were preforming in TOKYO Dome with almost 60 000 fans. that´s why they were so moved. Sadly soon after they split up: 3 going on individual ways like musicals, music, acting and song writing and the 2 on the far right continued holding the flag of TVXQ. All five are amazing.
They were created to sound good together. They are acapella group. I wouldn't say they were suffering, it's just Bolero is a song about making big dreams come true while staying true to oneself, I guess it resonates with them a lot. Btw Bolero's translations to English are available, just google it. This band is legendary. It's been over 10 years and I miss them together so much. It's so heartwarming to know that people still learn about them and like them.

This is going to be long post for a band that's already been 15 years. Just to put everything into perspective, this performance was from 2009 secret code live in tokyo dome. Note that this is the 1st time for DBSK to perform in such "prestigious" Dome and also they are the 1st Korean act to perform as well. Needless to say, it was so easy for any Kpop band to held concert in Tokyo dome nowadays right after that event. You could say that Japanese became more open to Kpop due to DBSK. Back then, it wasn't easy for an asian (non-japanese) to perform there and it's a big deal if you were able to. Anyway, Why it's a big deal for korea? the thing is, korea has been trying to break into Japanese market since early 2000s. Back then, Kpop bands/soloist can go as far as Top 8 in oricon charts (your billboard counterpart in japan). DBSK started their activities in late 2005/early 2006. It was a difficult time for them because they were big in Korea at that time and they have to work from zero for japan rather than leveraging their popularity gained in korea (i.e. they debuted in small hall with only karaoke mic in place). Fast forward, their hard work paid off when their single "Purple line" topped the oricon charts which again the 1st for the band and 1st again for korea. From there on, subsequent singles, albums are topping the charts and they are slowly being recognized not only in japan but they are also attracting international community (these stuff happened simultaneously 2007-2009). You could say that for this band, golden era hit them 2008-2009. Note that at that time, they were just 20 -22 year old. In case you're wondering what happened in 2009 onwards, Lawsuit happened. the band split in 2:3. Today, TVXQ/DBSK is no longer known as quintet acappella group but a DUO. The other 3 (who file the lawsuit against their agency) formed JYJ but currently are promoting as solo artist.

Basically, kpop groups are being molded based on these criterias but so far, I haven't seen any band yet who does the same stuff and able to balance all member's skills (dance and vocal) without a member being overshadowed by another member .

This was my favorite song by Tohoshinki, their harmony was truly the best too bad they spilt, Now I only keep up with Jaejoong the guy in the middle and sometimes Junsu the guy in the corner wearing a necklace solos, they were really a great band. For the emotional part u have commented about, this performance was few months before the 5 spilt and they were all aware of it here. The 3 guys in the left sued the Korean company for unfair treatements and they were able to win the lawsuit and change the whole entertainment industry contracts for better however the company they sued is very very huge in Korea, so they were able to blacklist them until today from promoting their music in TV even in both Japan and korea, in Japan they were unable to even perform there for many years..

This was the first time they stand at Tokyo Dome, the first boyband group of Kpop stand at Tokyo Dome. Unfortunately, after that 3 of members left group, so this concert is the best memory for fans. But above all, all of time they sing at that day - 24/7/2009, they expressed so awsome. Tohoshinki with 5 members are the legend.

I first listened to CHANGxKYUxCHEN singing Bolero.... now i listen to DBSK's version atleast 3 times a day.... can't get over it.. i've always loved old kpop more.... but this is just magical... the only idol vocals i approve of, are DBSK OT and SUJU KRY..... THE ONLY TRUE "KINGS",,,,,
So, TVXQ/DBSK were going through some diffiuclt things back at the time of these performances. If you can imagine, the standard of artist protection in most contracts were less than what they have today. They worked long hours, got minimal sleep, practiced and performed to point of collapse at times. Performers were known to push (more often than not) unreasonably through illness and injury while being given little in return. Often times, they sang live, especially TVXQ who are known for their vocals and ballads. The stress of such a lifestyle is evident in their 2008-09 performances (a live of "O" comes to mind). The general idea of contracts then (and now to a somewhat lesser extent) was that the company would pay for your schooling, room and board, lessons, etc., and when you made it big, the company kept a large share of the profit. It's been nicknamed a slave contract since people would almost literally sell their souls. In addition, their contract with SM Entertainment (the same company that put together Super Junior, SHINee, Exo, NCT, Girl's Generation, BoA, Red Velvet, and F(x) amongst others) was up for renewal. In the end, three members sued the company for unfair distribution of profits and treatment (Jeajong, Junsu, and Youchun), wininng the case. If I am remebering correctly, it was the first, if not one of the first, cases where the artist in question sued the company. Overtime, the cases popped up with more regularity, chaning the contracts to what we have today (still not great or equitable, but an improvement, nonetheless). In retaliation, SM, being one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea, black listed them from promoting in South Korea. The three that left created JYJ and are still remarkably popular in Japan. Changmin and Yunho stayed with the company, continuing on as TVXQ. SM groups, especially their boy groups, are excellent. I absolutely adore their vocals and performances. That being said, the company itself is known for being terrible, demanding, and somewhat racist (RIP Hangeng, Tao, Kris, and Luhan. Luv you all

This was the first time they stand at Tokyo Dome, the first boyband group of Kpop stand at Tokyo Dome. Unfortunately, after that 3 of members left group, so this concert is the best memory for fans. But above all, all of time they sing at that day - 24/7/2009, they expressed so awsome. Tohoshinki with 5 members are the legend.

So, TVXQ/DBSK were going through some diffiuclt things back at the time of these performances. If you can imagine, the standard of artist protection in most contracts were less than what they have today. They worked long hours, got minimal sleep, practiced and performed to point of collapse at times. Performers were known to push (more often than not) unreasonably through illness and injury while being given little in return. Often times, they sang live, especially TVXQ who are known for their vocals and ballads. The stress of such a lifestyle is evident in their 2008-09 performances (a live of "O" comes to mind).
The general idea of contracts then (and now to a somewhat lesser extent) was that the company would pay for your schooling, room and board, lessons, etc., and when you made it big, the company kept a large share of the profit. It's been nicknamed a slave contract since people would almost literally sell their souls.
In addition, their contract with SM Entertainment (the same company that put together Super Junior, SHINee, Exo, NCT, Girl's Generation, BoA, Red Velvet, and F(x) amongst others) was up for renewal. In the end, three members sued the company for unfair distribution of profits and treatment (Jeajong, Junsu, and Youchun), wininng the case. If I am remebering correctly, it was the first, if not one of the first, cases where the artist in question sued the company. Overtime, the cases popped up with more regularity, chaning the contracts to what we have today (still not great or equitable, but an improvement, nonetheless). In retaliation, SM, being one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea, black listed them from promoting in South Korea. The three that left created JYJ and are still remarkably popular in Japan. Changmin and Yunho stayed with the company, continuing on as TVXQ.
SM groups, especially their boy groups, are excellent. I absolutely adore their vocals and performances. That being said, the company itself is known for being terrible, demanding, and somewhat racist (RIP Hangeng, Tao, Kris, and Luhan. Luv you all
