You can't visit Chiang Mai, Thailand without taking an authentic Thai cooking class! We had the opportunity to spend a full day at the Thai Secret Cooking School. Obviously we haven't been to every cooking school in Chiang Mai, but I can very confidently say the Thai Secret Cooking School is by far the best cooking school in Chiang Mai!
The day started with a trip to the local market to pick up ingredients that we would use during our cooking class. After that we took a short drive to the cooking school. The cooking is also an organic farm (and their lovely home!). So before we began our cooking class, we went out to the garden and picked ingredients like flowers and herbs to cook our delicious Thai food!
During the cooking class, we chose to learn to cook pad thai, spring rolls, Penang curry paste, Penang curry with pork, mango sticky rice, and other Thai dishes. May is the instructor that teaches the Thai cooking class. She has an awesome personality and makes everything so much fun! She definitely makes the experience even greater!

Literally binge watching all your vlogs again! Everyone said ‘nate is so strict with money’ just think, theyve been to an elephant sanctuary, done a huge zip line adventure and a cooking class, all in 3 days. He saves in other places so they can do these things!!

Kara and Nate!! I just wanted to let you know that I saw this video years ago and in the Fall of 2019, I went to Thailand with my partner. I had shown her the video and was saying how good of an idea this was. She surprised me and we went. It's a wonderful class, thanks for sharing some of your experiences!

NO WAY, I did May’s class in early July of this year. The food was amazing, her garden was gorgeous, and she was even better.
You two are so much fun! Adventurous people are hard to find. Your so lucky to have found one another. I couldn't find anyone who would go with me to Thailand. So I have decided to go it on my own. The adventure of my lifetime. I leave in a few weeks. I'm so excited! Thank you for sharing your video. I hope the cooking class I have signed up for is half as much fun as the one you took.

I know im 4 years late to comment, but I just met May last July because of this video recommendation. I wanted to reminisce on our travels to Chiang Mai while I sit here in quarantine so I came back to this vid. My friends and I loved her and if I ever go back to Chiang Mai, I will go to her class again. :)
Its amazing to listen to people who are so passionate about food.
Cooking classes are the best! May was so wonderful and I love how at the end they gave everyone a cookbook with their picture on the cover! So neat. Another must-do for whenever I get to Thailand.

My wife and I are from Texas and we traveled to Chang Mai just to attend May’s class. Probably one of the coolest people we have ever met. Loved the entire experience. We love to travel the world.

That looked so fun and amazing!! My husband and I took a trip to Italy a few years ago. It was my dream vacation! And we took a pasta making class and everything that was used was homemade and fresh from their gardens! Best food I have ever had! And to top it off we had wine from their winery! ahhhhhhhh

I just returned from Chiang Mai but I didn’t see this until I got back to the States! I looked it up online and it seems to have made it through all the shutdowns! I seriously would’ve done this had I known ahead of time! 😕 That’s what I get for not watching ALL your Chiang Mai videos before going! I had seen your Sunday Night Market one and your apartment one. Oh well… guess I’ll just have to go back! 😉 My daughter and her family wouldn’t argue if I were to return! 😄

So...I have never tasted mango sticky rice, but Nate's obsession with it has really made me want some! I'm a vegetarian and I worry about international travel because of it, but I think I could live on mango sticky rice for a week.
