Naruto being a bad dad is wild given that they didn't have to write him that way. Like, why is he sending SHADOW CLONES TO HIS SPEND TIME WITH HIS FAMILY?! The real Naruto should be ditching work every second and leaving clones at the office so he can be with his family, especially given he was an orphan.
If I had clones that can function perfectly with the only weakness being "they poof if they get hit too hard", how are you ever backed-up by work. Better yet, why would you ever show up to work?
Most of all, you have one of, if not, the smartest guy in town as your secretary. Can he not cover for you?

Ok but in naruto defense he has one of the most important jobs in his world and THE most important job in his village.
He also never had a traditional family unit to model his parenting style off of and even if He did. Whole other can of worms when you have a very important job.
Even NON-hokage's irl take 20 years if even that before they feel like they're actually really comfortable in the role of a parent, because it's also a really important job but there's a lot of new territory thats hard to prep for
Not saying this excuses anything, just that it's understandable and fairly realistic
the whole Point of giving a character flaws and conflict is for them to have something to grow and overcome

Story's need conflict, everyone can't be perfect.

Also, the 3rd gave Naruto a full ride for tuition, utilities, and amenities, put Iruka as his handler so he'd always have someone to watch over him, and spent time with him when he could despite Danzo spilling the beans about Naruto housing Kurama. Hiruzen can't just stop people from being bigoted, niggas can't do that now in 2024. You can't say Piccolo is a good dad and shit on Hiruzen. Piccolo was committing child abuse, throwing Gohan at whole ass mountains and whipping his ass daily

Nah hes a bad dad. He's a good person(although quite a scumbag) but hes a bad father. He literally told his son to cheat on his wife while she was worried sick at home AND pregnant. Gave him love and affection. Planted a solid basis for morals in him. Naruto would not be Naruto without Jiraiya’s teachings.

Right after the saiyan get defeated , some of his friends are dead , so they go to namek right after , basically the point is he was training to protect his son and give em a life , which is what any good father would do
