That is an amazing collection. A lot of people show off a very modern and main stream variety of records, Stones, Beatles, Steely Dan, Floyd, etc. Your passion for music shows. Good stuff.
Jesus Christ! This guy has a serious collection! And no crap in it! Love it!
I feel the lifelong obsession vibe. A great document of a diverse collection…musical taste, original pressings, audiophile. 👊👍🔥
AHHHH AND THE "THRILL OF THE HUNT" FOR THAT ONE RECORD, IT GETS NO BETTER THAN THAT FOR ME! NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL LIVING!!!!!!!!!
What a dream to go through this massive collection!!
Loved every second of this. 😊👌
That John Mclaughlin album he pulled (the Mahavishnu Orchestra one) 9:50
I have a of copy of that signed by Billy Cobham.
Marty Stewart now owns Clarence White ‘s beautiful ‘pull string ‘ guitar.
Beautiful doc
I went to high school with Tex Logan's daughter, Laura and dated her for a while. Laura was a stunning beauty with an ebullient personality. The relationship could have lasted longer, it wasn't her fault that it ended but we remained friends. Even though I went to her house many times, I never had the pleasure of meeting Tex. When she told me who her father was and his connection to Bill Monroe, I was fairly nonplussed, I didn't know anything about bluegrass music at that time. In the years following, I became aware of mountain music and the stupidity of my youth!
FYI, Jim Messina was originally with the Buffalo Springfield, then POCO, then Loggins & Messina. Messina's first group, Jim Messina & His Jesters, preceded the Springfield.
Great video! He spoke a lot of wisdom in his words.
Impressive and eclectic collection great video.
Awesome collection and awesome guy!
I also love the thrill of the hunt of getting something new and exciting in a record(s). Wow ! What a collection. I couldn't wait to subscribe to your channel. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed! Stay tuned for more videos
Wow, your Renaissance collection is incredible! I just picked up a copy of Novella on Sire Records for 25 cents. The following week I saw the same album being sold at another store for $20?
Absolutely fabulous collection. The only Coryell album I have is “Return” 1979 Vanguard. Can’t think of anyone who might have as many Renaissance albums. If any. I could happily live in that room. The killer line “ there’s always more “, you’re not wrong there. Loved it.
LOL... I feel the same way about Herb Alpert records... they're fucking everywhere!
Nice collection of MJQ records!!
I wanted to see his 45's.
Enjoyed the documentary. Wish I was closer to Wisconsin.
If you're ever in the neighborhood give us a visit!
Good video. (Picked up an original pressing of Tragic Songs of Life in a dollar bin last year.)
ANYTHING VINYL IS A MUST SEE FOR MYSELF, I CAN APPRECIATE ANY GENRES OF MUSIC AS LONG AS IT'S GOOD.... I'M GOOD 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 👍👍
Skipped right over The Anthology of American Folk Music at 14:30.
Bought Steve Lacy’s “Trickles” at Paramount couple years back, GREAT dig, need to get back!
We're waiting for you! And we have special store hours this week for the holidays as well, which are on our website: www.paramountrecordshop.com/ (this is Garrett, by the way)
Note from Kenn's wife, Mare Edstrom (Fox): "It's real, and it's spectacular!"🤣👍😎Good work. Garrett! 🐔🐔🐔
juicy jazz
what ken fox song was used for the background music?
That's By Design off of Road to Tivoli
I was wondering where his copy of "Lark's Tongues in Aspic" went. Plus "Beat" from the 1980's.
Hahaha Kenn's on the hunt for a copy of Lark's, but we didn't notice Beat was missing. That's an underrated masterpiece for sure
I was hoping there would be McDonald and Giles among the King Crimson pile…it must be somewhere, right ?…
Here ya go! th-cam.com/video/U9-SQwtQuAE/w-d-xo.html
the question is do you actually listen to them
Has that 'collector' approach, quite a generic/mainstream sensibility or focus. Inevitable if you collect these types of tunes soon enough you will have 10-50k of them.
we must not have watched the same documentary, unless you consider Renaissance, MJQ, Kentucky Colonels, and Hound Dog Taylor mainstream...
@@garrettwaite8435 The first two names sell or sold in large numbers. The last two sold in lower numbers. But I was talking overall. I sell Vinyl, for decades,so have bumped into a lot of folks with these 'types' of collections.
Nothing wrong with Herb Alpert Mr. weirdo record collector.
nothing against mr alpert. there's just a lot of his records out there
"Keith Relf's sister" By his non-reaction, the bloke with black hat has no idea who Keith Relf is...
So what. It’s okay to not know everything, ya know. I’m sure there are legendary names out there that you’ve not heard of as well. Besides that, he’s a younger fella who wasn’t around back then so of course there are things he may not have discovered yet.
