I was just camping near Prescott, Arizona. It was so hot that my hair got wet under my hat. I washed my upper body and then my hair in a half gallon of water using Dr. Bronner's soap. At home we have a laundry to landscape system. I use Oasis detergent and the water goes out to the front yard flowers and the side yard citrus and other fruit trees. We have been using it for about 10 years. The fruit trees are doing fantastic with this detergent water. Our dwarf navel orange had about 80 oranges. Our big lemon and our big Valencia orange trees have been getting hundreds of fruits. It also reaches our Fuyu persimmon and our peach tree. One year we got about 700 Fuyus. The young peach has some nice looking fruits coming. So no need to dump it in a lake. Dump the water on plants. Oasis also sells a dish soap/all purpose soap. I tried that one on my hair and it wasn't the best. Dr. Bronners did great on my hair. Oasis detergent gets clothes clean.
That sounds like an amazing landscaping system you have set up and my mouth was watering with all the different fruits you have growing. I have Dr. Bonners too. The mint tingle really reminds you to dilute it 😳 If it’s warm here in Canada, I bet it’s a real scorcher in Arizona. Do you have lots of places to stock up on water or do you have to be careful to ration it out?
@@adventuredawgs We were just visiting Arizona but we live in North San Diego County. We have put in 5,200 gallons of rain tanks which we use to water the fruit trees in the hottest weather. (We leave the irrigation off in the wet months.) We save our shower warm up water for plants and wash our dishes in a little tub in the sink. We also don't flush every time. So we are doing what we can to conserve water yet still have fruit trees and a small vegetable garden.

I thought the cornstarch side looked fluffier, so that's a win. I liked one of the commenter's suggestion about using a powder puff to apply cornstarch...pretty smart. As said before, you just make me laugh out loud! Take care.

When planning a camping trip for a couple weeks in the summer heat, I buy a 16 oz bottle of wintergreen scented rubbing alcohol, and a 16 ounce bottle of Witch-hazel. I warm up 1/2 gallon of water in my camp stew pot to a comfy temp (for getting any oil off my skin}. Depending on how filthy and oily I am, I add 1-2 Tablespoons EACH of the alcohol and witchhazel to the water, and grab 2 clean rags. I then get decently clean with a "hospital bath". (Rag #1 - face cleaned first, then cleaner body parts follwed by dirtier. Repeat procedure with rag #2, and you're amazingly cleaner feeling! NO RINSING IS NEEDED!
I've never used leave in shampoo either but I'm curious about it now! I've also never washed clothes in a dry bag, but I have done some some washing in a sink. THat's worked decent enough.
Here’s to sparking your curiosity 😉 I’ve done laundry in the sink and in my little wash basin but I will say this uses a lot less water which is a definite bonus.
For what it is worth... I wash clothing now and again when desperate using the same method you used here. I add ½ cup of white vinegar along with the detergent, and it strips your clothing of odors wonderfully. I'm just throwing that one out there. Lol, you're too young to know this, but back in the 70s, when I was a kid, they came out with spray hair wash. It made your hair look greasy, and it smelled really weird to boot! Thanks for the video.

I wonder if it would attract anything. I have never heard of spray hair wash. It almost sounds like a good idea, minus the greasy hair (which kind of defeats the purpose doesn’t it?).
@adventuredawgs Bear country is a mystery to me, I'm sorry. There is virtually no lingering smell associated with the vinegar. The only things we have around here are mountain lions and coyotes. If the lions want you, it isn't your smell that brings them in. Lol! Good luck to you and thank you again for posting your videos.
@@bibsoutdoors4786 oh my. I did not even think of mountain lions. We have tons of coyotes, some coywolves, and a few black bears. I’m guessing that at low concentrations, it’s a non-issue?

Anyway, I’ve been researching RAV4s and I know there’s only certain ones that can tow teardrops, but I haven’t found anybody towing a teardrop. Cornstarch works better, too, if you use a powder puff to put it in your hair. You end up being able to just pat a little at a time in your hair.

Instead of dry shampoo or cornstarch, a bit of baking soda on a puff might also work. Plus, it's a deodorizer.
