I seriously should get me a rotary cutter. I tried making 2 coasters a long time ago with normal rope and the coasters would not stay flat. Maybe if I try again with single ply it will stay flat.
Single ply makes a big difference to the overall finish! Particularly the fringes, rotary cutters do need you to press pretty hard though so you need confident swipes at it!
