The Knox & Kane Railroad started tourist operations in 1987. Gettysburg Railroad continued to operate under Sloan's control from 1976 to 1996 (Pioneer Lines took over). Prior to Knox & Kane and Gettysburg, Sloan Cornell operated his short Penn View Mountain Railroad. Besides operating the 38 at Gettysburg and then Knox & Kane, he also operated the 76 (went to Ohio Central in 1998, then to Steam Institute in 2005 and now at Oakland, Maryland as of 2018 with 3254 and then 1278.
