  • The Better Start Bradford Innovation Hub, part of Born in Bradford, has been working with Better Start Bradford to evaluate projects and early life interventions delivered over the last 10 years in three wards of our city.
We recently hosted a series of webinars to share findings from our evaluations, alongside research from Born in Bradford's Better Start (BiBBS) - the world's first interventional birth cohort and one of its most diverse.
The theme of this webinar was social and emotional development. A focus of the Better Start Bradford programme because of the relationship between parental wellbeing and the quality of parent-infant relationships, and the impact of this on children’s subsequent development.
We explore our evaluation findings relating to Better Start Bradford’s projects and services including Little Minds Matter, Baby Steps, Incredible Years Toddler, and the Personalised Midwifery Project. We also share key insights from our latest research from BiBBS and share plans for ongoing effectiveness evaluations. Dr. Sarah Blower, Associate Professor of Child Development and Family Wellbeing at the University of York, concludes the webinar with a reflection on what’s needed to support socioemotional wellbeing in early years moving forward, both in Bradford and beyond.
You can find our other webinars on language and communication and social and emotional development here.
