I think I saw a ghost one time in a Victorian period home and he looked mighty real. He was a perfectly formed sea Captain in full dress. On another occasion, I could feel a "presence" breathing on the back of my neck when working outside at night. One of my closest friends had died shortly before that happened. I had to give up my project and go inside the house, shaking like hell.

I've had many encounters over the years. Weird things I can't explain. Ghosts are real! I was doubting myself until a Army Col. told me he saw things too and ghosts existed.

Odd things appear to some at times. In 1964, I was with my family on summer vacation in Colorado. We'd stopped at Ft. Garland, an old army post from long ago. I was pointing out to where buildings had been. My father listened closely with great interest to my pointing out the now nonexistent buildings among those that still remained. When I said the corral for the horses was across the paved road, he stopped dead in his tracks. He looked at me dead in the eyes and said "My grandfather was posted here in the early 1870s. How can you know these things? We've never talked about this. Son, what are you seeing?" I had no response. I just knew these things never knowing where this knowledge came from. However, I felt like I was in a place that I knew well.
Some years later I obtained a copy of the Record of Posts of the Frontier. It detailed all of the army posts west of the Mississippi river. When I saw the details of Ft. Garland, the very locations of the post buildings and such were detailed in print. But until then, I had no way of knowing where anything was there. It was odd to say the least.
My cousin had sent me a copy of a photo of our great grandfather taken in his 70's a few years ago. Now in my 70's myself, I was the spitting image of him. I immediately felt a shudder like I've never known before.
There are forces in this world that we do not know. Points in time that emerge unknowingly to many. Being 1/4 Lakota, a nation of enormous spiritual belief, I am always amazed at the visions we may see.
That huge spider you witnessed, was real. Ictome, the trickster, in Lakota belief, is real. A demon of dark forces. What you, and your fellow soldiers saw was just that. A demon.
Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. This world is filled with odd incidents, that looked upon scientifically may be dismissed. But from a more personal view, are something different.

Wow that must have been a strange feeling. I have heard of several people who have gone to places they've never been. Then recognize it intensely without knowing why. I think your explanation of what we saw at night. fits better than any other thing I can think of. thanks for coming by.

    I collect percussion colt's.
back in 2020, not too long after having acquired a very fine civil war Colt 1860 army, I would randomly start hearing knocks in my bedroom walls.
Usually around 10.00 -11.00 am. They are hollow wood walls without any piping or anything that could explain those sounds.
One night, that same year, when I was alone in bed I could feel the left side of my matress going down, as if someone was putting their knee there to crawl into the bed.
The activity subsided after that, but picked up again this year, although it seems to focus more now on my girlfriend and people who visit my house.
The only bizarre things I have personally witnessed this year is a 4 week period where the fire alarms would randomly go off, sometimes 3 times in 1 hour (even though they are brand-new and have fully charged batteries) and a shadow floating in front of the cabinet where I keep my pistols.
That's about the extent of it.

Most people always do when i tell them it was in iraq. From the storys people hear everyone thinks they are extremely huge spiders. From my time in iraq. i have been to every corner of that country. the biggest i ever saw was about the size of a tarantula. Still to this day i really wonder what that was. It had 8 legs and looked like a wolf spider.

Forrest Finns of Finland and Sweden that came heremin the 16 and 1700s. They came to areas not cultivated, and left hunger behind them. New techniques for agriculture, sowing rye in the hot ashes ,tommake more food per sqm.
With that was also the nature senses, feeling spirits, and the Elfs and Nisse. The Huldra, the one you dont should mention too much .
Knowinng the Black Book, and how to stop blood if someone cut themselves, the spells of various kind, making someone fall in love with you, or go insane.
A close interaction with the various animals in the forrest, learning the signals . Putting the nature magic in to objects of daily life.
One famous gunsmith,he had a flintlock rifle, he had made his own, it was made in same devotion like the Japanese swordmakers make their weapons have a soul. But wity twist, he took alittle snake and shot it out of the rifle. That says the rifle have been «Ormed» , and now was ready . It wouls shoot sure and hit the mark any time .
Also when it was game in the area, the lock would snap, like someone cocked it and let the flint og forward to hit the steel.
This has been noted by several people regarding the soul of the rifles.
But as Stephen Hunter wrote about dont sell your soul to the rifle, that will end in a wrong way. Like the fiddler with Porkkala fiddle that 3 thursdays nights in a row at a crossroad sat and played his tunes.the 4th night someone helped him tune the strings . And his destiny took a dark path, his widow after a early demise if his ,hid the violin until it was found in the 1960s,and it is now in a museum, but a digression of it .

Some of my family members took a vacation down to Savannah Georgia. I believe there is a fort or two around there. Anyway, they went out at night and took a bunch of photographs and in multiple photographs, you could see ghosts. The two that were the most clear were a slave and a man in uniform. Looked to be Civil War era. Very creepy.
