I do in fact own one of those!!! And I can 100% attest to this set up being Bad Ass! I’ve gone through Diff after diff until you built this for magnum, thanks again buddy! Your work is always appreciated
The 820s are such a pain to get hold of in the UK but boy are they worth it! This country is littered with 801 and 832 transaxles though, so I just run them and constantly have spares on hand.
We don’t get very many or any mowers with the 700 series We have so many ideas for mower builds but sadly where we are located we don’t have many with all these different and cool parts on them Gunna have to make a trip down the the states to grab some of our dream builds
@@okoffroadmowers - Makes sense. I have three mowers, and my older smallest one happened to be the one with the 700 series transmission. The others have transaxles. But it turns out these transmissions are what a lot of the race mowers use. Not quite finished yet, so right now I'm hopeful it'll hold up. Keep up the good work!
I have a craftsman 5100 and my hydraulic trans is not working. Can I use a different trans on my riding mower. I want to find a used one and see a lot of craftsman 3000 for sale with used parts
I have a John Deere L120 with a hydrostatic and it needs a new rear end but I want to manual swap it does anyone know where I could get a transaxle for it or which transaxle would work
I have a old ford yt125 with a peerless, iim not sure.what model, its a 5 speed,, Im putting. a 18hp vaanguard. on it, the old ford trraactors have kick ass frontt axxles and spindles, im building a racer out of it
66 mph crapsman mower I spent zero dollars on ! Bottom line run a GT axle LT (lawn tractor) is lighter duty (GT) (garden tractor) were built for implements and attachments/work horse . Lawn tractor is for what it sounds like mowing a lawn lol. Simply put a 4-5 inch pulley on front and 1-3/4 to 2” rear pulley . Weld up a quick idler pulley and go . Done . Never put big atv wheels and tires a on it waste of time lol Imo trussing it is one thing but building a whole “fitted” skid plate little much for a racing mower lol Great job none the less js u can do it 0$ budget and absolutely rip!
This is not for a racing mower, it’s for an off-road mower A 1-2” pulley is way to small and would cause so many belt slipping issues Skid plate is well worth the time as we don’t have many 820 transaxles in are area and wouldn’t want to damage the casing on a rock We don’t mind spending some money on a hobby we really enjoy!
How would customer contact you? I have a 2005 craftsman lt ? Golf cart parts front but lt 3/4" rearaxle 6 speed witch keeps blowing apart cases ? Need help? John Henry . Please respond
Yessss We wish we got wheel horse mowers in our area, Maybe have seen 1 good one that we could have bought, but seller was asking way to much money! One day we will make a trip to the USA to buy some horses!!
@@okoffroadmowers I saw the weld on hubs but can't find the 5 lug plate that it welds to. I've looked online at princess auto still no luck. Could you please get a part # or a sku it would be much appreciated 🙏
For added strength to the top of the case With having a welded diff The two axle shafts put a lot of pressure on the top half of the case as they are trying to push upwards in the middle. Also added it as the mounting bolt holes are only 5/16 and I wanted bigger bolts Watch the magnum rebuild and you will understand what I mean!

those cracks on the other transaxles were they done by hitting a rock or they just broke?
Hey Came across your channel and had to subscribe. Nice work
those skip plates can you buy them? or can you just put a steel plate around those transaxles?
I'm building a mower with a solid live axle and peerless 700 series transmission.
Have you guys thought about that, as opposed to a transaxle?

What's the holy grail of hydrostatic with 1" axles? Is there one with 1" axles?
Haven’t gone through any yet so I’m gonna swap one of these in before I do, and I’m running a hydro rn and would like to not be
Those are so hard to find around here
I have a pearless chain driven one and wanna lock it ? Any ideas how . It’s setup totally diffrent
What mowers did the 820 come on?
That WOULD be a GREAT aid !
How do you indetify what diff you have I've got a dayton mtd 1644 not exactly sure on the year but the diff has a vertical pulley

Instagram messages is best
I would look into a peerless 820 or other 1” axle transaxles
They can take a lot more abuse over a 3/4” transaxle
Do you guys run gear oil or grease in these 820s?
A thick gear oil works great!
You should buy an old john deere 314 or 317. The transmission are tough . Check it out.
When we find one for a good price I’m sure we will pick it up and add it to the build list
Where you get the wheel spacers
They are jeep 2” inch heel spacers
5x4.5 bolt pattern
Wheel horse 8 speed uni-drive w 1 1/8 axles are bullet proof
