I might be tempted by Getaway but can’t remember if I have it or not as it’s back at the house, like wise with Badboys I can’t remember if I have the others on Blu Ray or 4K 🤣🙄 But those are the ones I want to pick up this week. Great episode - Imprint appears to specialise in repackaging British tv and film content that was released on Network in the UK. I have the Blu-ray set of Randall and Hopkirk.. I loved this serious but actually enjoyed later Reeves and Mortimer version either the wonderful Tom Baker. I agree that Imprint produce great disks/packaging but they are quite expensive to import to the UK. I got their Blu-ray version of the Wicker Man just for the packaging. Love their unique boxes. I have subscribed.😂😂😂
Hi mate, yeah Imprint have been putting out a lot of these old Network releases (shame that Network went out of business) I believe the old Network release of Randall And Hopkirk had very few extras;s included (I could be wrong) but there are a lot on this release 🤔 I have never seen the remake of the show but would love to check it out. Good mixture of titles out this week Alan. Mausoleum sounds interesting... I really enjoyed all seasons of The Crown, I just felt the final season was a little rushed (in terms of how many significant things needed to be documented). Overall though, a fantastic series. Take care mate 👍

@@kermitsghost I managed to get my hands on it. It is by far the best release of the film in terms of the package. It is very nice and the only one to actually have any kind of special features. The transfer tho is a very old master, likely from the DVD days. As was customary for Universal in the early blu-ray transfer years, this transfer is riddlers with digital artifacts, haloing and oversharpening, de-graining etc. But it looks OK considering and is one of the better Universal transfers from this time and hasn’t been obliterated like films like Billy Elliot or Earthquake. But it is still quite rough by todays standards of remastering and restoration. I can confirm it is exactly the same transfer as the Shout Factory blu ray from 2012. However, all that said, again this is actually technically the best presentation of the film on blu-ray yet as the compression on this disc is far superior to the shout disc and makes for a noticeably better image that is resolved much better and nicer here. In particular the grain here looks much better than it did on the previous release where it was compressed far too much and macro blocking and pixelation was occurring. I am very happy I bought it as it was worth it for the special features and the box presentation. I also ordered direct from Film Treasures and got a poster and a magnet. I am both happy and disappointed with the transfer because I knew in my heart from the start that this was very likely just going to be the same transfer again, but part of me hoped it would be some kind of new remaster, so I am disappointed it’s not a new remaster but it is a very slight improvement over the previous release. I just wish Universal had the foresight back in the day to not destroy their transfers. This looks okay. It’s a passable image, but a new restoration or remaster even at 2k would blow this away. Will forever wish for this film on 4k. Wish Film Treasures could’ve brought it to us, but they aren’t a very well known boutique label yet. So i’m happy for the package and the features but the transfer is old and in need of an update. Good release from Film Treasures considering they would’ve had no input on the transfer and they encoded the presentation far better than we have seen before. So it’s the best yet for the film but it’s still not very good. Just as a side note the audio tracks are also identical to the previous US release as well.
Somehow *The Crown* final season totally sneaked past me but I have added it to my next order so I get a slip to match the others (well not quite; the CE of Season 1 looks different) - personally, like a few watchers I know, it's more difficult to watch episodes where you grew up with the actual events as you tend to object much more to the 'hypothesising' of what happened behind closed doors, where it's easier to accept as "believable and makes a good story" about things from before you were born. I can't disagree on the acting being superb throughout though! _Another_ movie called *The Getaway* ? I have the Ethan Hawke / Selena Gomez one, want the Steve McQueen one... this looks like another movie with that name with a good cast!... Edit: Apparently this is a remake of the Peckinpah directed Steve McQueen one, so the name _isn;t_ a coincidence (sadly the earlier one seems to be OOP judging by the prices!) One wonders if the *Chaika* creator saw *Django* dragging a coffin with him and thought "that's badass..." 🤣... for once this isn't a Series One that's the complete thing; apparently Series Two is out at the end of October and the Complete set near the end of December.I've not seen *Vienna Blood* at all but I must say it intrigues me... I dcouldn't tell if it was the the case with *Tomo-Chan is a Girl* but it's annoying on anime sets CEs when they include the DVDs they make all the cases DVD case sized - I picked up a CE recently and found this was the case (no pun intended)... however given the CE included not only DVDs but soundtrack CDs, and the obligatory booklet, but more to the point was £14 instead of the £25 they want for the regular edition I put up with it! Oooh, I'll add more *Reacher* to my _Wish List_ Normally I just can't justify the extra cost to import the (marvellous) _Imprint_ releases but I may have to on *Randall and Hopkirk: Deceased* because I'm guessing when you say a slew of extras they'll be the same as (or similar to) the _Umbrella_ DVDs (also an Australian release) with commentaries, interviews, galleries, bios, introductions an production footage... maybe the UK's _Network_ 'revisited' featurette too. However despite the Australian Umbrella AND UK Network DVD releases having all these extras, as I think I mentioned to you at the London meet-up, the Network_ Blu-ray release dropped ALL the extras (so not even the ones from the Network DVDs) which I find inexplicable! Actually, investigating, it seems this _Imprint_ release has also added some MORE commentaries and extras over anything that we've seen before. I wonder if the order of episodes is addressed in the book by (the great) Andrew Pixley included in this set... I've found online that the _Network_ (and _Umbrella_ ) DVDs use Transmission order (Murder Ain't What it Used To Be in 7th for example) yet the _Network_ Blu-ray set changes to production order (Murder Ain't What it Used to Be not until 24th out of 26)... of course interestingly in a fan analysis checking references etc. the 'theoretical chronology' actually puts it in at 9th! Who knows? It'll certainly be interesting to see what the notes say about why _Imprint_ chose whatever order they did, but since Murder Ain't What it used to Be is at 24 (I can read that as you held it up) I'm assuming production order. I saw the interview with the _Treasured Films_ guys on Phill's channel (him with two Ls), as I know you did, and might get *Mausoleom* (I ordered one of theirs direct from the site immediately after watching the video and it came very well protected only a few days later)... though I'm cutting back on spending (or trying to) for a while. As usual a great video and nice pickups 👍😃 P.S. From the comments about *Mauseleum* and Jamie already getting it that's another one you should be on comission for! 🤣
Hi Justin, happy to inform you of another title to buy (The Crown season 6) 🤑 it’s a very well written show but your spot on, a lot of artistic licence has been used in private scenes 🧐 I’m going to have to pick up The Getaway at some point…..so many movies and so little money 😆 I thought exactly the same thing regarding Chaika and the coffin 🤔 yeah I was intrigued with Vienna Blood as well and it’s a show I hadn’t heard of before 😮 Reacher season 2 was very good and well worth checking out, especially if you enjoyed the first season 👌I wasn’t aware that Umbrella released the Randall And Hopkirk dvd but yeah I’m surprised the UK Network release dropped all the extras, it make no sense at all. I believe the order of the episodes was down the fact they shot them and showed them out of order in the UK….the seventh episode was the second episode shot…that kind of thing….so after the first episode (the set up) it didn’t matter which order they followed. Yeah I saw Phil’s video with the Treasured Films guys, that was very interesting 👍 hope you enjoy Mausoleum as much as I did…..it’s not Casablanca obviously, it’s a cheesy (sometimes saucy) 80’s horror, I had a blast…. Kenneth Cope passed away a few days ago despite when you filmed this from now. The other releases that were released were The Watched on US region free Blu-ray on the 26th of August 2024 known as “The Watchers” as I’d found that was a okay film with Ishana Night Shylamahan, we only got a DVD only release over here. Upcoming releases coming will be The Boy and the Heron, the Studio Ghibli movie which won Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards to which I’ll be watching this weekend. 🎉 and Inside Out 2 is another movie that’ll will be watching on bootleg before it’s physical release on the 28th of September 2024, as it neared the end of its cinema run.

My HMV had neither of the Riddick releases ( Blu-ray or 4K ) 🤷♂️. Great pickups. Did get the 4K of bad boys ( really enjoyed it ) and Reacher is currently out for delivery from Amazon.

Australia is doing a great job at packaging, Let it be imprint or umbrella. It’s making America look bad. 😂 I’ve been noticing ever since Amazon owns MGM now they’re putting out a lot more releases to physical. Let it be older releases or newer releases.

Hi mate, The Crown was much better than I was expecting it to be, grabbing the previous seasons separately through CEX is the way to go as the complete box set has a preorder price of £120 😮 (through CEX seasons 1-5 separately will set you back around £30 leaving you to buy season 6) take care mate👍😃👍

The transfer tho is a very old master, likely from the DVD days. As was customary for Universal in the early blu-ray transfer years, this transfer is riddlers with digital artifacts, haloing and oversharpening, de-graining etc. But it looks OK considering and is one of the better Universal transfers from this time and hasn’t been obliterated like films like Billy Elliot or Earthquake. But it is still quite rough by todays standards of remastering and restoration. I can confirm it is exactly the same transfer as the Shout Factory blu ray from 2012. However, all that said, again this is actually technically the best presentation of the film on blu-ray yet as the compression on this disc is far superior to the shout disc and makes for a noticeably better image that is resolved much better and nicer here. In particular the grain here looks much better than it did on the previous release where it was compressed far too much and macro blocking and pixelation was occurring.
I am very happy I bought it as it was worth it for the special features and the box presentation. I also ordered direct from Film Treasures and got a poster and a magnet. I am both happy and disappointed with the transfer because I knew in my heart from the start that this was very likely just going to be the same transfer again, but part of me hoped it would be some kind of new remaster, so I am disappointed it’s not a new remaster but it is a very slight improvement over the previous release.
I just wish Universal had the foresight back in the day to not destroy their transfers. This looks okay. It’s a passable image, but a new restoration or remaster even at 2k would blow this away. Will forever wish for this film on 4k. Wish Film Treasures could’ve brought it to us, but they aren’t a very well known boutique label yet.
So i’m happy for the package and the features but the transfer is old and in need of an update. Good release from Film Treasures considering they would’ve had no input on the transfer and they encoded the presentation far better than we have seen before. So it’s the best yet for the film but it’s still not very good.
Just as a side note the audio tracks are also identical to the previous US release as well.

Somehow *The Crown* final season totally sneaked past me but I have added it to my next order so I get a slip to match the others (well not quite; the CE of Season 1 looks different) - personally, like a few watchers I know, it's more difficult to watch episodes where you grew up with the actual events as you tend to object much more to the 'hypothesising' of what happened behind closed doors, where it's easier to accept as "believable and makes a good story" about things from before you were born. I can't disagree on the acting being superb throughout though!
_Another_ movie called *The Getaway* ? I have the Ethan Hawke / Selena Gomez one, want the Steve McQueen one... this looks like another movie with that name with a good cast!... Edit: Apparently this is a remake of the Peckinpah directed Steve McQueen one, so the name _isn;t_ a coincidence (sadly the earlier one seems to be OOP judging by the prices!)
One wonders if the *Chaika* creator saw *Django* dragging a coffin with him and thought "that's badass..." 🤣... for once this isn't a Series One that's the complete thing; apparently Series Two is out at the end of October and the Complete set near the end of December.I've not seen *Vienna Blood* at all but I must say it intrigues me...
I dcouldn't tell if it was the the case with *Tomo-Chan is a Girl* but it's annoying on anime sets CEs when they include the DVDs they make all the cases DVD case sized - I picked up a CE recently and found this was the case (no pun intended)... however given the CE included not only DVDs but soundtrack CDs, and the obligatory booklet, but more to the point was £14 instead of the £25 they want for the regular edition I put up with it!

Normally I just can't justify the extra cost to import the (marvellous) _Imprint_ releases but I may have to on *Randall and Hopkirk: Deceased* because I'm guessing when you say a slew of extras they'll be the same as (or similar to) the _Umbrella_ DVDs (also an Australian release) with commentaries, interviews, galleries, bios, introductions an production footage... maybe the UK's _Network_ 'revisited' featurette too. However despite the Australian Umbrella AND UK Network DVD releases having all these extras, as I think I mentioned to you at the London meet-up, the Network_ Blu-ray release dropped ALL the extras (so not even the ones from the Network DVDs) which I find inexplicable! Actually, investigating, it seems this _Imprint_ release has also added some MORE commentaries and extras over anything that we've seen before.
I wonder if the order of episodes is addressed in the book by (the great) Andrew Pixley included in this set... I've found online that the _Network_ (and _Umbrella_ ) DVDs use Transmission order (Murder Ain't What it Used To Be in 7th for example) yet the _Network_ Blu-ray set changes to production order (Murder Ain't What it Used to Be not until 24th out of 26)... of course interestingly in a fan analysis checking references etc. the 'theoretical chronology' actually puts it in at 9th! Who knows? It'll certainly be interesting to see what the notes say about why _Imprint_ chose whatever order they did, but since Murder Ain't What it used to Be is at 24 (I can read that as you held it up) I'm assuming production order.
I saw the interview with the _Treasured Films_ guys on Phill's channel (him with two Ls), as I know you did, and might get *Mausoleom* (I ordered one of theirs direct from the site immediately after watching the video and it came very well protected only a few days later)... though I'm cutting back on spending (or trying to) for a while.

I believe the order of the episodes was down the fact they shot them and showed them out of order in the UK….the seventh episode was the second episode shot…that kind of thing….so after the first episode (the set up) it didn’t matter which order they followed. Yeah I saw Phil’s video with the Treasured Films guys, that was very interesting 👍 hope you enjoy Mausoleum as much as I did…..it’s not Casablanca obviously, it’s a cheesy (sometimes saucy) 80’s horror, I had a blast…. Kenneth Cope passed away a few days ago despite when you filmed this from now.
The other releases that were released were The Watched on US region free Blu-ray on the 26th of August 2024 known as “The Watchers” as I’d found that was a okay film with Ishana Night Shylamahan, we only got a DVD only release over here. Upcoming releases coming will be The Boy and the Heron, the Studio Ghibli movie which won Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards to which I’ll be watching this weekend. 🎉 and Inside Out 2 is another movie that’ll will be watching on bootleg before it’s physical release on the 28th of September 2024, as it neared the end of its cinema run.

What did you think of bad boys ride or die? I wasn’t overly keen on the first 20 minutes but after that it actually became a movie, “the Reggie scene“ is literally my favourite scene of the whole movie, it gave me John Wick vibes.
Alot of titles out today, nothing that appeals to me. Even Chronicles of Riddick wasnt a film i enjoyed hat much although some years ago i saw it.
