Greeting ghouls and ghosts! Our names are Jason and Kali, and we are the horror couple of your dreams- or nightmares! Jason has been a film nut for over 30 years, and Kali has a hyper-fixation with horror and slashers. Together we spend most of our waking life watching films and obsessing over them. We record movie reviews and discussions weekly, and love watching and talking about both lesser known and popular films in the horror genre. Occasionally we also review comic books, video games, television series, and novels. Additionally, we also enjoy making short horror videos. Kudos on a great show, and well thought out lists guys. At Flesh Wound Features we don't even get our final lists until the middle of the month, because we try and be a thorough as possible catching anything we miss. So many TH-camrs will make top tens and maybe only have watched twelve (all mainstream) movies all year, so I appreciate all the hard work and time you two put into your content.
It’s insane how little these channels watch haha. But hey, not talking shit… well, maybe a little 😈
One of the very very few horror channels where i can go to and almost always reliably find a movie i havent heard of or seen yet.
😈
Homies watch literally EVERYTHING every year, great output for real. And most of their recommendations line up with my own
man she looks at you with tons of love and care. also love you guys and I'm gonna watch both of ur top tens.

I just finished watching when evil lurks finally....i kept forgetting it...loved it!xx
Happy New Year! Perfect video to start 2024. I love it. Thank you.
Thank you! Definitely always so supportive and we thank you
Great video guys. Glad to see you put Inifinity Pool in your list Jason as it's my No1. Agree about Beau Is Afraid it started off so well then went downhill. Take care both 👍
Completely agree with your top picks for the year. The only reason I took to Skinamarink was from childhood experience. I was an only child and left alone at night, without my knowledge multiple times as a very young child. It's not a perfect movie or one for many, but I think it captured some of the feelings of being alone as a child at night.
Hey, if it worked for you that’s great. Truly.
Happy New YEAR'S to you too guys!! Good video. Are you going to do a most anticipated 2024 releases video? For me it's TERRIFIER 3, NEW FEARS EVE, & FINAL DESTINATION 6.
Yes. I’m doing a live with Lee on Drumdums
Blackening and Beau is Afraid is definetly on my top list, surprised it fell off for you, same for saw, loved that.
Good good job on the reviews, you are my top go to channel for horror! I am not
into the slasher movies nearly as much as slow burns/psychological horror...
Having said that, I think I need to see Skinamarink a 2nd time.... I can defo see
how polarizing it is... It really drew me in and I felt it was one of the top horror movies
of the year... disturbing and leaves a lot to the viewer's interpretation seems to me..
it is a different movie, but this drew me in much like Lake Mungo did. (I think the
brother killed his sister in Lake Mungo) anyway, great job!!
My favorites were: When Evil Lurks, Infinity Pool, Cobweb, Evil Dead Rise, and Influencer.
My worst were: It Lives Inside, Five Nights at Freddy's, and Pet Sematary: Bloodlines.
Don’t tell Kali about FNAF
Happy New Year guys! 🎉
I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one who thought Skinamarink was a complete snooze fest.
Her logic make sense with the evil dead number 7. All her other spots were locked in. So it just had to go
According to Letterboxd, I clocked in at 120 and I had to really hustle to get there. Another 50 on top of that is crazy. Much respect.
Yeah… it’s been a year
I go out of my way to see movies that are banned, like "That Cold Day in the Park" w/Sandy Dennis, a shocker, & "The Devils" w/ Oliver Reed & Vanessa Redgrave.
Watched the brood tonight with Oliver Reed
The Devils was excellent. Completely bonkers but taken seriously with the incredible sets and costumes and brilliant acting, particularly from Reed and Redgrave, but everyone commits.
Happy new year Jason and Kelly🔪🔪
Kali* happy new years to you too
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 thanks Jason
Loved hearing your lists. I STILL need to watch Moon Garden. I am definitely going to soon because I just have a feeling it’s my type of film from your review. I am one of those that put Skinamarink as my number one. It’s the only movie I bought a dvd of this year. I find it so funny how you guys didn’t like it, and that’s cool because I knew watching it that it would not hit for a lot of people. I think for me the emotional aspect of it is what really did it for me. Just made me feel a type of fear no other has in a long time. Felt like a dream.
When Evil Lurks definitely was impressive as far as the acting and horror, but it didn’t make me feel a lot surprisingly. The Fall of the House of Usher and The Last of Us were probably my favorite horror this year even though they were shows.
I’ve been dying to see Poor Things so thanks for mentioning you enjoyed it. I’ll definitely be watching it.
Cheers and I hope this year brings us more great horror. 🥂
Maya, you are definitely one of our favs. We love you. And the last of us is the best of 2023 😈
Aw man, been waiting for this video…
the 1 scene that replays in my mind the most is Godzilla roaring with the blast going skyward.
Evil Dead Rise would be my #1.
i need to buy The Creator.
That scene was great
Jason and Kali, I loved listening to your top ten horror of the year. I definelty now need to see Moon Garden, Visitors and Nowhere!

Venus and Divinity?? Never heard of them. Horror???
Thanks
Godzilla Minus One was my favorite movie of the year until I saw The Iron Claw last week. I watched Terrified a few months ago, and I'm really excited to watch When Evil Lurks. I just need to mentally prepare myself before I watch it. 😂
Yeah… it’s a lot haha. Go see poor things too. It’s my favorite of the year
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 yes! I've heard a lot of positive stuff about Poor Things. I'll definitely check it out.
Love yall so much
❤️❤️❤️
Happy new year to the gang...2024 is gonna be a blast!!...I know this as I turn 50 in April xxx
That’s a big one! What you got planned?
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 absolutely nothing...as of yet xx
Hope you do something cool
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 didn't see this....nothing..hubby at work..so out for meal with dad...i don't want a party xx
Wait, did I miss your review of Poor Things?
No. Didn’t do one
I do agree that top films of the year videos get pretty redundant, although I usually don't bother watching them aside from the people who's opinions I actually care about, like you guys.
I can imagine the lack of rankings and lists is maybe one reason not enough people appreciate you guys? Which is in no way a fault of yours at all, but a weird observation on why people love rankings so damn much 😂 Again probably the instant information I guess.
This year has been pretty solid for me, When Evil Lurks and Saw 10 were probably highlights for me off the top of my head.
The FNAF movie wasn't great but the cinema experience was very interesting. First time for years I've been in an absolutely packed theatre room.
The Mean One and Blood and Honey were big let downs though, the thing is stupid films like that CAN work, but they never fully commit.
Thank you. And yeah, more lists would probably help haha. Good idea
I hv Jason on letterboxed. What is Kali's letterboxed id?
Zombean
Dear David is listed as drama comedy rom. I thought you’re about only horror
Loved Brooklyn 45, Last Voyage of Demeter, Project Eerie, A Haunting in Venice //// , Satanic hispanics, the Breach, The Haunting of Queen Mary , VHS 85 , Dark Harvest was OK, Renfield mehhhh
😢
Heck ya was waiting for this
Here it is ❤️
Can you please timestamp it?
I saw 510 movies this year..
gonna try for 511 in 2024?
Bro how?! I want to see that many but I only saw 160 so far. I need to see over 200 for 2024 to top my 2021 record of 194.
@@megamoviez Have a MoviePass, AMC Stubs, or Regal Unlimited subscription so you can go to the movies (at the very least) every other day. Then watch stuff at home in-between. If you go to see a sequel, reboot, or prequel, then watch all the movies that came out before it BEFORE seeing it in theaters.
Oh yeah. I definitely saw a lot too. All the rewatches, non horror, tv shows, and all the new horror? Hundreds and hundreds..
It’s weird but I think I enjoy someone reviewing a movie than actually watching one anymore. When I get free time to choose something to watch I get overwhelmed by all the choices I have and just end up back on TH-cam. I remember just watching whatever was on HBO or Cinemax. Anyone here old enough remembering get excited about the monthly HBO guide coming in the mail?
I did manage to go see Infinity Pool, yuck. Disappointed
You need to be more decisive! Haha
1. TALK TO ME
2. THE ELDERLY
3. SCREAM VI
4. SPEAK NO EVIL / WHEN EVIL LURKS
5. THANKSGIVING
6. RENFIELD
7. SISSY / INFLUENCER
8. UNWELCOME
9. TOTALLY KILLER / DARK HARVEST
10. SUITABLE FLESH
Worst: FNAF! and I probably dodged a bullet with SKINAMARINK. 🙈
Scream VI was some of the worst writing and acting I have ever seen in a movie
I couldn’t find the elderly
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 It's out on BD here in Germany and the States too. It's a Spanish movie. Don't know about available streaming options.
Yup. Same director as the passenger. Which I loved so I was excited
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 I liked that movie too. Didn't even know it's the same director. Thanks for letting me know Jason. 😎👍🏻🤘🏻

Happy new year.
Skinamarink!? Come on. I know It's not for most. But hw does it become the worst? I won’t even finish it ever cz I'm not into it.
I normally agree with her takes, but good lord, FNAF was abysmal, and I'm not even a pg-13 hater. I got into fnaf recently, and that movie just wasn't it man. It was bloated drama with zero fun for the lore, just slap dash thrown into a blender for fans to eat up like slop and call "lore" accurate. More power to her, but jesus lol (but the entry level watching with the kids sounds sweet, and I can get that part of the love for the movie)
I would've really appreciated timestamps
Yeah. We should make those
I gotcha

Late to the party but my top ten of 2023 is
New Religion
Godzilla Minus One
Skinamarink
Evil Dead Rise
M3gan
Influencer
Birth/Rebirth
Infinity Pool
When Evil Lurks
Mother May I?
Honourable mentions go to
Something is Wrong with the Children (someone has to give some love for this movie!)
Baby Ruby
Deliver Us
The Popes Exorcist
Talk to Me
No-one Will Save You
Also for the film of 2023 that’s most likely to develop some sort of future cult following I’d like to nominate The Haunting of the Queen Mary.
I can’t disagree with any of your criticisms of that film but I think it had its fair share of interesting moments. If that Fred Astaire dance number / mass axe slaughter had happened in a better movie, I almost guarantee it would have been hailed as one of the best horror sequences of 2023.
Finally just to add a thank you for all the great horror content delivered by this channel for 2023! Definitely my favourite place on TH-cam to go to for keeping up with the genre. ❤
Enys Men..
Horror? It's an experimental film, follow up to bait.
my favorites were evil dead rise, when evil lurks, malum, no one will save you, talk to me, cobweb, and a lot more, my worst were winnie the pooh: blood and honey, haunting of the queen mary, and dont look away.
Ugh. Queen Mary…
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 fucking awful
👍👀
Best: Birth/Rebirth, When Evil Lurks, Godzilla Minus One, Moon Garden, Woman of the Year, Naga, Siste Death, Infinity Pool
Worst: To be honest, I avoided stuff that looked truly awful (Blood and Honey) so the worst stuff for me was just mediocre. Like, The Boogeyman is far from horrible, but it's painfully mediocre. God is a Bullet was a failure across the board, but not a horror film really.
God is a bullet 😢 so dumb
Skinamarink is a pretentious piece of garbage. Should've just been a 15 minute short film.
The Worst should be far be more
Nah. We like things
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 If you are implying that I don't we like several of the same movies......from before 2020 even a few after Woke Shit is Woke Shit I don't rate Shit
Man you love that word
Somebody has to call out the
i prefer 2000s horror movies, i truly dislike new age horror movies, less violent more societal, PC and way too many damn kids under 16, i prefer 20s 30s people and hot chicks are also mandatory jason.
Agreed 100%, dude. I’ve basically given up on modern horror, this year, because everything I’ve watched has pretty much sucked, aside from Where Evil Lurks and Saw X. What a bad year for movies, in general.
🙄 Honestly anyone who says any era of horror sucks just haven't looked hard enough within the eras and are judging it based on specific examples.
@@cookiesontoast9981Here we go with the hand waving everyone has tried to pull, this year lol. We never said an “era” sucked, we both said this year sucked, because it did.
@@michaelkikle3018The first guy did clearly say he disliked "new age" horror.
Not that I really care, just that's a pretty huge blanket statement and his points don't even apply to a ton of films even from the new age.
Just feel like people who pick problems with eras of film are only limiting their own enjoyment.
@@cookiesontoast9981 its called opinions, you must be a liberal to be this thick.
