Lieberr are still [in my opinion] the most capable and versatile big machine manufacturers. I further believe they seek the maximum design base structure to underpin their safe driveability as well as operating safety.Full credit to the entire chain of competent people involved in the design and the manufacturing process.
I don't think their engineers pay much attention to safety when compared to the likes of Hitachi or Komatsu. Judging by the number of Liebherr excavators that catch fire as a result of some design flaws, they have a lot of catching up to do. From a technician's point of view, they are also the worst machines to work on (maintenance) as a lot of things APPEAR to be after-thoughts and were missing at the drawing board.
What an extraordinary achievement for the Liebherr designers and engineers, this is a mega-mega earth-moving machine. I like the idea that this was commissioned for an Australian Mine.
This looks to me to be down the hunter valley. I have worked on the smaller 996 they make excellent equipment, very complicated and you need to be highly trained
Yeah the RH400(980t) is nearly 180t heavier in shovel mode and payload is around 45 cubes vs the 42 in standard density for the 9800(800t). Don't get me wrong they are huge bits of gear. For lighter dirt like Burton mine the RH 400 would spec a 52cubic metre bucket. HUGE units the both of them. One here in the hunter is passing 80t in rock. As for the EX8000(820t) lets just say it's big with a 42cube bucket but struggles for tear and breakout unless its loading well shot dirt or spoil.
I ran what was the first 5500 shovel Hitachi built for Suncor in Alberta. Northgate minerals in northern B.C. bought it from them and that was where I ran it. Smaller than this one with twin V 16 Cummins, but it still had the hydraulic operated service tree or your "service flap" with the quick connectors on it. It's certainly not a new idea or invented by Liebherr.
How does the high volt version save compared to #2 Diesel like not having to refuel all the time not dealing with filters and contaminates not having to change engine oil ECT ?

At 0:25 Excuse me, english isn't my first language, but I don't think this is a "backhoe". But indeed an impressive machine! Maybe a little too big for my back yard....😎
Wir fertigen die Muskeln für diese Giganten. Das sind unsere Hydraulikzylinder 💪🏼
Wie viel wiegt so ein Hydraulikzylinder ?
Thanks

@@zigzagger7893 I must accept your points and overall opinion, I know I am possessed with a bias toward Liebherr. Thank you.
Bigger than O&K?
I can't imagine what it feels like to operate this beast! I'm sure it would be great fun!
Hlo
Not all day every day !!
Where can you rent this unit? I need to put in a small sprinkler system in my front yard.
Mh R

That's as much as 76.5 tons per bucket (depends on material density, that's why they use volume measures) just in case you were curious.

It must not... it takes your house as a whole...:)
I saw this beast live...
@Maureen Bosetti Ok :)
It would rather bury ur house
I'd like to have one to play with in the backyard!
😂😂
how many 14 oz grease cartridges do I need for the pins on this machine?
yes
A barrel
This machine would be good for cat box cleaning.

bjjpath the RH 400 only comes as a mining shovel so is technically not an excavator like this. Same with the Hitachi
J aimerais bien essayer rien que pour être rassuré que un jour on a fait connaissance .
Liebherr des superbes machines 😎❤❤
What an absolute Beast of a machine!
My goodness what a beautiful machineries, God blessed.
Awesome engineering
Actually the biggest is Terex O&K RH400
That's true those are 1000+ ton excavators
@@JAMESMANHUNT9 but tha cat 6090 is the biggest front shovel ever made plus I don't think there is a backhoe variant of the cat 6090

I just don’t get how a human can achieve such great engineering skills to build machines like this. Crazy.
Very simply.....math

Wowww amazing
Amazing, I saw a Lego Technic version of this and searched for this video.
If I only had this when I was a kid. I would have changed the world. Or at least some parts of it
My parents would have definitely had a pool.
75 tons per scoop is sick.
Kind of, or you can also call it "efficient" ;-) Best Regards, André

Good machine from liebherr :-)
The R 9800 is surely a Masterpiece from Liebherr Mining. It is always exciting to see one in a real minesite! Best Regards, André

Amazing machine though. The service flap is genius.

Leibherr is the top machine I really enjoy just three pass and the truck has it s load 60 seconds production accuracy speed wow excellent
Cool machine, but I will only buy one when they offer 0% for 60 months.
good for Lego
wow what a machine and the machine is 10 years old now
my 1-year-old drooled a pint of saliva while watching this; he tried to crawl inside the video
The human power unstoppable building machines to conquer the nature
Not really giant, when you look at the Bagger 293...
If there was ever dinosaur battle between the 9800 or the bagger pretty sure the 9800 would win.
Look at the bagger 288!
I'm glad
Chances of getting a shot at operating it....................0.0089%
