I don't know if you have ever read Ruby Red by Kirsten Gier before but if you haven't, do it. It seems like exactly your vibe. It is a German book (and I am German and therefore cannot speak for the English translation) but there is an English translation. It's funny, it's magical, there is a love story, great friends and a crazy family - and time travel. In London. You should definetely read it. I think you would really like it.
My favorite author is T. Kingfisher, and her best series imo is the Saint of Steel! They're magical realism/historical? Fantasy with some romance but so refreshing and adult and real. Highly recommend.
I love fantasy, magical realism, etc. But if I could live in any of my books it would be the Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy by Nora Roberts. It is a small town, three best friends…three handsome brothers…renovating a haunted hotel/inn and becoming one big happy family.
I always enjoy your videos. They are so creative and I love your style. I will say I really love the 'Mitzu loading' and when your cat appears. That is so so cute. Thank you for including the kitty. 😊💛 Thanks for all the videos and content!
Super cute journal entries! I started using the same calendar tracking system a few months back and really like it. I would totally visit the world of Sharon Shinn’s Elemental Blessings series. The magic system is unique and fun.
I love all your spreads they are so beautiful! You have inspired me to change the way I do my reading journal, I’m starting a new as soon as it arrives❤ You are not alone in the Powerless ramble, it’s my least favorite in the series too!!! But I really liked Theo’s book, just a word of advice read the sinopsis before you go in as many people didn’t like it because they didn’t know what it was about. 😂
I read powerless as well in July and was not a fan of it. And theos book I’ve heard is a trope i really don’t like so im not sure if im continuing on in the series. But i totally agree with you on i don’t think jasper and i forgot the FMC name will stay together. And both the rep of being a hockey player and ballerina were terrible
Ok now I need to read Sterling house as an excuse to use this washi tape. I think you will really love "The Only one left" based on sterling house. i LOVEEEE THE NOVEL STORY Spreead. You will really love the geekerella seies too. oh u can change the audiobook settings iin storygraph. You can check it out.
Gorgeous set up Erin, I love how you tailor each page to the book I think I'm going to start that rather than making the book pages fit the monthly theme. I'm torn on which book world i'd like to live in - My favourite all time book is The Stand by Stephen King but that would be a horrible world to live in. Have you read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline - it truly is a wonderful retro nostalgia kick. The audio book is pretty good too (and it's much better than the movie)
Thanks Jay! 🥰 I haven’t read Ready Player One - I did watch the movie a while ago and I really liked it, so I can imagine the movie would be even better!
Ok, about the Chesnut Springs series: as someone who also didn't really enjoy Jasper and Sloane and almost abandoned the series entirely, please, do yourself a favor and read the next one. I really enjoyed it and it was like "ok, Elsie Silver is back".
Please read Part of Your World and Yours Truly! I read Just For The Summer first, but now i kinda regret it, cause there is characters from the other books:( P.S. If I could live in any book world, it would definitely be Nevermoor. Its a wonderful fantasy world with so much going on, without a high stakes war
Croissants and what? I can't see it, and you said you don't like coffee (I hate even the smell, so I am always happy to find not-coffee stickers!), so I'm really curious what it actually was. Haha. 🥰
So, I know you like Romance, and you've been reading Brigerton. So my first recc is Claudia Dain's Courtesan series. Five books. I read the first and will be getting the others soon. Romance, set in 1802. The Courtesan of the title reminds me of the main character in Love and Friendship only she's using her powers for good. The dialogue is A+, it's witty, intrigues, twists, fights... I want to see it as a series now, but I would want to executive produce it with the author so it would turn out as good as the book. Second, if you like murder mystery and historical novels, with a romantic subplot: The Brother Cadfael Mysteries by Ellis Peters. Set in England during the long war between King Stephen and the Empress Maud, in and around Shrewsbury. It was made into a BBC series in the 90s starring Derrek Jacobi, but they didn't do all the books.
Journaling and doing my nails, I've been meaning to ask if maybe in a Vlog you could show us if you have nail products/tips as your nails always look awesome (she writes on the one video you don't have coloured nails, but still lovely).
Oh thanks Lauren! I’m glad you think I do a good job 🥰 I haven’t been doing much with my nails this year, I think I’ve only done them a handful of times but I did touch on them a little in my most recent vlog video!
Do you like Alix E. Harrow's other books? I loved A Spindle Splintered and The Once and Future Witches. I don't know which book I would pick! Most of my favorite books are ones I would not want to live in.
Well, you are interesting. I subscribed from Wisconsin USA. 🐄 The Dairy State. Thank you for The Story Graph. I signed up. Also, my daughter gave me a reading journal at Xmas. TSB app will make that easier because I read lots of books/mo with my 72yo eyeballs (while they last). I will look for info on how to print those tiny book covers. I love them. Do you have a how-to video on that? Thanks for all of it. I just read a series about The Invisible Library by Cogman. My entire family read The Night Circus, it’s that good. I’ve been reading a ton of American westerns by William Johnstone. I cannot put those books down. Thanks for everything. 💜💜💜
What was the Buffy prequel story about Tara? I've tried to scan through the video to find it and no such luck of course 😅Should've just paused the video when you mentioned it haha Another lovely spread!!!
I've love to visit the world of American Hippo by Sarah Gailey. Keyword there is 'visit', I don't think I'd last long in swamps filled with feral hippos!
starling house is a gothic fantasy/fabulism book! respectfully and with love, magical realism is a very specific genre tied to Latin America and Latine diaspora writers about Latine struggles (like used by Allende, Esquível, García Márquez, etc). It does not mean "not fantasy enough"
So pretty! Love the icy blue tones for August 💙 I've got Starling House on my tbr pile actually, might have to bump it up the priority list. Trying to think of a world I'd like to visit, it's hard because I love a good fantasy world but so often they're full of peril 😅 I mean, I adore The Locked Tomb series, but it's a hard pass on going anywhere near that universe for real! I guess you can't go wrong with middle earth though, I'd be happy to spend time in the Shire or Rivendell. Or any book with a fantasy library 📚

I did my book stats today. I read six books in July. My book goal for the year is 50 books. According to good reads I am 4 books ahead of schedule.
That’s so good Marie! You’re set to kick that goal!
My all time favourite fiction Erin is -Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
I LOVE THIS BOOK!! no one ever talks about it but it was so so good!
My favorite author is T. Kingfisher, and her best series imo is the Saint of Steel! They're magical realism/historical? Fantasy with some romance but so refreshing and adult and real. Highly recommend.

100% Harry Potter! I would be happy being an extra in the Goblet of Fire book for sure!
Ooh what a great time to be in that world! 😍
I always enjoy your videos. They are so creative and I love your style.
I will say I really love the 'Mitzu loading' and when your cat appears. That is so so cute. Thank you for including the kitty. 😊💛 Thanks for all the videos and content!
Love the vibe for august! I always just chill with your videos-they’re just the right amount of peaceful
That makes me so happy! 🥰

23:50 "but Mom, I just want to help!" 😂 Mitsu makes me laugh.
He is such a good helper! 😍

Thank you for this, I looked it up and went OH IT’S ONE OF THOSE. 😅 I’ll persist but I’m grateful for the warning!
Love your reading journal videos! So beautiful and inspiring.
Thank you so much Sofie! 🥰
Hey Erin, is there a way you could do a video on how to do calendars in a B5, A5, and 8x8 journal?
Hmm let me see what I can do!
Oh I'm really glad starling house was good for your tastes :)
It surprised me!
I’ve been checking back so often to see if you had posted!! I love these wrap up videos sm
Friday nights at 7pm Australian Eastern Standard time, and 2am Wednesday mornings 😉 now you’ll always know when to expect them!

Ohhh I just looked it up and I hate that trope too 🥲
Yeah i can’t do it if it’s the main trope. Like it was okay in heartless but not the main trope!
I love watching your videos. We do have starlings in Australia, in the country.
Oh my goodness do we? I wouldn’t even know if I saw one lol - I have no idea what they look like 🤣

Abby Jemenez is hilarious on TikTok. The way she voices her three Yorkshire terriers and her husband dog is pure gold
RUNNING to TikTok to follow her!

i felt the exact same way about powerless! so disappointing, but I've heard amazing things about reckless.
Nothing like an outlier in the middle of a series to shake your confidence 😅
Ok, about the Chesnut Springs series: as someone who also didn't really enjoy Jasper and Sloane and almost abandoned the series entirely, please, do yourself a favor and read the next one. I really enjoyed it and it was like "ok, Elsie Silver is back".
My friend said the same! I will stick it out for Theo 💕

P.S. If I could live in any book world, it would definitely be Nevermoor. Its a wonderful fantasy world with so much going on, without a high stakes war
I use the term "possible reads" instead of tbr 😊
I like that! No pressure for us 😉

This is the first Alix E. Harrow I have read so far - definitely keen to read more!
Beautiful, as always! FYI, I think this video is not on the playlist
Oh oops! Thank you for letting me know!

What is the little HP printer that you are using?
It’s an HP Sprocket! It’s a nifty lil thing, it’s linked in the description in case you’d like to investigate further 🥰
I would like to visit the world of The Dark Tower, by Stephen King. Or Narnia, C.S. Lewis. Or The Shire, Tolkien
Would you please post a link for video your rating system is from?
Absolutely! 🥰 th-cam.com/video/iZhinxtTMFQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uBliSCiYWz-ZAnXM
I love your monthly reading journal videos 💜

OH I DID! Haha thank you! 🤣

The Bewitching Hour by Ashley Poston! I didn’t get to reading it yet but it sounds fun, a Tara prequel story!
@@ErinSmith Thank you! Buffy is my favourite show so I think I’ll look for this one 😊
this is such a cool system! 😍

I have had the first book in this series in my library for close to a decade. Now I have to read it!
@@KatieReadsKoziesAndMore it's so good. I've read it twice (2018 and like a week ago!) and I gave it five stars each time.
@@koibarnes6314 Yes! I already added it to my August TBR. Thank you for the encouragement.

I didn't know magical realism was such a specific genre either! Thanks for sharing!
