I love the way you teach. That's a real teacher taking time to do the steps and counts. I'm 63 and my grandson is getting married and want to do the 🕺💃
There's actually two versions of the hustle. There's the hustle and then there's the Latin hustle. The Latin hustle was done by a couple with spins and dips
I did it! I can't believe I did it! I'm 30 and I don't know how to dance, but I have always wanted to learn, so this is very motivating. Thank you so much Miss Miskowiec, you're an excellent teacher!
Thanks for the lesson.! I remember my mom dancing the hustle on the living room green shag carpet. Now I got to dance in her footsteps. Good Memories 👍
We all had to learn to the The Hustle in Jr High Gym class '77. Yes, I'm that old. lol We learned slightly different choreography though. It's all good fun though! Two thumbs up. :)
Wow! I haven't looked at this video in years! Thank you for the kind comments, this was an impromptu video my local library asked me to do during COVID so people could learn the "Hustle" line dance. I am a dance instructor but not a professional dancer with a sound studio and professional backup dancers. This was in the beginning of COVID before we had more tools for online classes for better sound. I talked my sister and husband into doing this with me for support. This is the only video that I've put on You Tube and I can't believe some of the comments are so rude. We were just having fun and putting something out there for our local library...jeez! I'm glad some people can be nice and enjoyed themselves 😄
Boy! Does this bring back memories!!!! I'm about to spend the rest of my evening listening to disco music & remembering what it was like to do these dances. Thank you for the memories 💖💖
So informative/helpful (I learned "The Hustle" so quickly, due to this video), and the fact it's from a public library makes it that much better. I spent so much time in libraries (as a kid)...nothing compares to the smell of book!
I'm old enough to remember doing this dance in the disco. Oh how much fun it was. There is no way I'd be able to do it now. I'd probably break my hip. It looks like you all had a lot of fun.
I remember doing this in the 6th grade. A girl brought the 45 in and the teacher let us have some free time to just dance it out at the end of the day. Even a few of the boys joined in. What a great memory.
Look up Van McCoy original Hustle - there were several versions and a lot of people simplified it. In the 60s & 70s there were new dances all the time. It was impossible to learn them all and most people improvised too.
Breaking it up into parts really does make it seem easier. So it must be once you get those basics down, you can adlib, like switching arms halfway into the Travolta, for example.
Although I grew up in California , was 14 in 1979, we did a different "The Hustle". Even taught a whole bunch of girl scouts at a boring jamboree. They loved it! We had to create the rhythm ourselves. 😊
Actually It first originated in the early '70s in the South Bronx as a 'frequeria', or a dirty dance, popular among Puerto Rican teenagers. What she’s doing is the “Bus stop”
I remember there was two hustles. There was the regular hustle and the Latin hustle. The Latin hustle was beautiful beautiful to watch. With all the lifts spins and dips
I haven’t done do the hustle and mini years. I just happen to hear this song on the radio today and on my phone and I can’t remember how the dance goes.
Too much fun to watch! Thank you for the enjoyment of watching! Some of the "missteps" are the best part. Looks like you all had a really great time doing this. Great way to get through Covid (I noticed the date you guys did this). Thanks!
I did this dance as well in the 70’s. There were different versions The Latin Hustle being one. Also perhaps there were regional ones? This is close but not exact to what we danced in our Gym.
Thank you! I will be using this video to connect with all my retired sisters(8)! do you know how to waltz? we grew up with trhat 50 yrs ago. . beautiful to watch our aunt and uncles on the dance floor
When my gym teachers taught the class to do the dance. They did not have us clapping nor the Travolta points. They just taught us to the movement gong back then forth, then to the side and back. We were told to get a bit more inventive.
There's a vid of Pan's People dancing to this on Top of the Pops back in '75. No idea what they were dancing, and they probably didn't know either, but it sure wasn't The Hustle!
I’m sorry I was windows New Yorkers born and raised who partied in the 70s and went to a lot of nightclubs and that was not the hustle from the 70s that’s the hustle that they made you think it was from Saturday night fever but that is not the actual hustle the hustle is similar to ballroom dancing where a couple actually intertwined with each other and there’s a lot of lifting and twisting and turning involved we took a lot of pride and a lot of exercise that we did in a lot of practice through the days leading up to the weekend so that we can have a competitionsOr show off on the floor so before you start showing these things please do your history thank you
@@caramelqueen3409 While I agree with the first comment I think this information is definitely useful. Not everything is about enjoying a video. A lot of people lean towards the internet to find useful information. I ended up here trying to find some OG moves from the 70s so even if its slightly wrong its ruining the authenticity of an entire culture.
Okay there's two kinds of hustles there's also the Latin hustle which is like swing or ballroom dancing, where you had couples and turns and spins and dips

You might want to check out the Bristol Stomp of the early 60’s or maybe 1959; as I remember, it was a line dance and at the time I had a hard time remembering the steps, but it was fun.
Who knew that when I searched for the hustle, I got a video made by my local library! Amazing!
We got to do the hustle 💪 💯
At home keep practicing. I love it makes 😍 me happy, at my age.
Happy new year
So do the hustle
They're devoted to your education...
I love the way you teach. That's a real teacher taking time to do the steps and counts. I'm 63 and my grandson is getting married and want to do the 🕺💃
My mom taught my sister and I this dance as little girls... omgoodness, the memories!
43 years ago or so
I’m for anything that gets people moving and smiling. This does both. Keep it up
That was so much fun, I’ve just been dancing with myself for half an hour ,can’t get the smile off my face 🕺🕺🕺
Check the hustle, you would really like it. Even though it's a partner dance you can play around with it.
I'm 26 and I love this song. Didn't know it's an actual dance to this but I live oldies. Wish I was around during the 70s and 80s

Wow! I've always wanted to learn this dance & now I finally did! I love disco!
I remember learning this when the song came out & still remember it.

I absolutely love this! I remember doing this in grade school it was awesome then and it's still awesome now
Same here. And at the skating rink!! 😍
Boy! Does this bring back memories!!!! I'm about to spend the rest of my evening listening to disco music & remembering what it was like to do these dances. Thank you for the memories 💖💖
Yay! This is how I remember doing it! Bravo! 🙌
Now I will be prepared for any impromptu disco party.
I was in early grade school when that song came out & I still think it's 1 of the most beautiful dance songs I've ever heard. ❤❤❤
So informative/helpful (I learned "The Hustle" so quickly, due to this video), and the fact it's from a public library makes it that much better. I spent so much time in libraries (as a kid)...nothing compares to the smell of book!
Great tutorial!! I’m 62 and never could get the steps. Never to late !!
We danced the Hustle in our elementary schools' gym class. Loved it! Maybe 4th grade.
love dancing the hustller. the choreographer dances well so graceful
The Hustle. A hustler is an entirely different conversation!! 💕
I got served at the club the other day, i needed this
I don't understand how people can't do it it's a simple fun dance💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾😊
I just heard this song on Spotify and forgot these moves that I learned in high school. Thanks for the tutorial! 👏👏💃🏻🕺🏻
I'm old enough to remember doing this dance in the disco. Oh how much fun it was. There is no way I'd be able to do it now. I'd probably break my hip. It looks like you all had a lot of fun.
Disco days in Dallas Texas! No greater decade than the 70's. Will never be another decade with the music of 70's. What memories!
Brilliant… just brilliant.. and above all happy ❤️
This is the same hustle I learned in the 70s.💃🕺🏻
this brings back great memories of doing The Hustle at UCLA. Great job with the instruction!
So fun!! I remember learning this in 7th grade gym class!! And wearing those not so attractive blue zip up gym suits😵💫
I remember doing this in the 6th grade. A girl brought the 45 in and the teacher let us have some free time to just dance it out at the end of the day. Even a few of the boys joined in. What a great memory.
What a great lesson, thank you!
We did this dance years ago in my 5th grade 50s day it was so much fun
Freakin AWESOME!!!🤗🤗

Thank you so much for your video. Unfortunately this is not the Hustle. This is the bus stop.
Wow, I took a 'modern dance' class in the late 70s and we covered this one. It was fun but I'd forgot the steps! Thanks.
I remember my parents dancing to this wow great song
The hustle differed in different parts of the country. Loved disco and The Hustle!
Actually It first originated in the early '70s in the South Bronx as a 'frequeria', or a dirty dance, popular among Puerto Rican teenagers. What she’s doing is the “Bus stop”
I danced the Hustle in the 70s. This isnt how it was done 🙁
Missed the chicken wing - I was taught 2 quick circles and 2 chicken wings then turn
I remember there was two hustles. There was the regular hustle and the Latin hustle. The Latin hustle was beautiful beautiful to watch. With all the lifts spins and dips
One is a line dance, the other a couples’ dance.
I agree, I did the hustle and it was a couples dance, not this at all
ME TOO! This ain’t it girl!
I haven’t done do the hustle and mini years. I just happen to hear this song on the radio today and on my phone and I can’t remember how the dance goes.
Great
Greetings From Super Extremes- Sri Lanka
💚 💛 ❤ 💙 💜
Watched this after reading the NYT article. Makes me smile

I was just reminded that this dance was called the “Bus Stop”!
This is like the hustle that I remember!
Loved it 😊❤
Granny's dance is awesome 🥸👍♥️

It’s the greatest 😊
LUV THE HUSTLE, THE ONLY DANCE I KNOW REALLY!!
I've never seen less coordination than what that man has displayed lol
Lol. I felt for him so much, I looked exactly like that. But at least I had the advantage of slowing the video down, so after several tries I got it!
I think he needs some one on one training 😊. That’s okay, some folks just don’t catch on as quickly as others ❤
That's my husband...he tried his best and had fun! I talked to him into supporting me doing the video 😜
Great job.
Thank you ❤ This is fun to do
I think this dance is called either “The Walk”, “Disco Line Dance” or “The Bus Stop”. The Hustle is a couple’s dance, not a line dance.
Wow. I remember the 1st part of that line dance but the Saturday Night Fever part must've been something that she decided to add...lol
There's a vid of Pan's People dancing to this on Top of the Pops back in '75. No idea what they were dancing, and they probably didn't know either, but it sure wasn't The Hustle!
Parts of dance moves is from 4 corners which was before Travolta and hustle.
I’m sorry I was windows New Yorkers born and raised who partied in the 70s and went to a lot of nightclubs and that was not the hustle from the 70s that’s the hustle that they made you think it was from Saturday night fever but that is not the actual hustle the hustle is similar to ballroom dancing where a couple actually intertwined with each other and there’s a lot of lifting and twisting and turning involved we took a lot of pride and a lot of exercise that we did in a lot of practice through the days leading up to the weekend so that we can have a competitionsOr show off on the floor so before you start showing these things please do your history thank you
Feel free to put up your video showing us how it's done.
@@redemptusrenatus5336 Exactly!! Let people have fun!!! Geeesh!!

I clubbed in the early '80s in Los Angeles area, and that's not the way we did it in the clubs.
Okay there's two kinds of hustles there's also the Latin hustle which is like swing or ballroom dancing, where you had couples and turns and spins and dips
The OG line dance! 👏✌️
Lol I did this in high school. I had no idea that it was a seventies dance. I was born in the seventies though.
THANK YOU!
It was ACTUALLY MUCH MORE FUN THAN THESE FOLKS ARE LAYING OUT HERE !
Lol this dance is so old. I'm surprised there's enough people who remember it.
SUPER!!!
This is that same dude that was throwing me off when I was learning the "Slide" in 89'!!!🤬🤣🤣🤣
I love all the 70s
I shall now preform my peoples native dance!
Similar to SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER line dance which is a 40 count beats line dance.
How come the moves in the music video look different?
For me (a german) there is too much echo in the room ... I can't nearly understand what you are saying😢
Loven it 💖 💖 💖!!!
That's not the hustle that we did.
NO.....THE HUSTLE I DANCED WAS MORE LIKE DANCING SALSA ALL OVER, TURNING WITH DIFFERENT STEPS....
Fun!
thank you
Brilliant x
We're learning the hustle and are all wondering what the back story is behind the guy and why he's there? He's a good sport about it, lost a bet?
If I decide to have skinnyfit, can I still eat foods moderately?
I danced the hustle when I was 2nd year high school 1972 and that’s not way.
Were they wearing that hippie garb at the discos? I don’t think so, but correct me if I’m wrong!
That looks like the bus stop
This is not the original hustle, but it was fun
Almost like the electric slide with extra steps
Not how I remember it. John Travolta didn't come into our version.
Who brought dude ?
Очень 👏✊👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💪🔥👨👩👧
There were two versions a line dance snd the OMG couples dance
Possibly update w correct era clothes Find the mandatory disco ball haha
These are Hippie clothes 68 -73 not disco club clothes
The Hustle - the original line dance 😅
You might want to check out the Bristol Stomp of the early 60’s or maybe 1959; as I remember, it was a line dance and at the time I had a hard time remembering the steps, but it was fun.
This is definitely not the black version of the hustle. Michael was not doing this in Good Times
I've been looking for the black version. thanks for the tip.
Are you kidding me ? Hustle is a partner dance started on tge Bronx around 1973 -PARTNER dance
I don't remember the hustle having Travolta moves.
Hey is this Deschutes county Oregon as in Bend Oregon
Good ☺️♥️
This is the line dance Hustle. Much prefer the couple's Hustle.
The Hustle was a couples dance.
