Thank you for this video. I watched a TON but this one was the best in everyway possible. I am just starting to milk my rescue boar goat maybel and she is just like Olivia when it comes to milking. Her personality is like Eva's. Thanks again for this video. - Casey from Ontario, Canada
I want to say thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you I finally start milking my wild crazy goat with your method was so Helpful and I really appreciate your video thank you
Great idea! My does will be 3 next month and have never been milked because they had been raised strictly for breeding and had no real human interaction before I got them. I was trying to figure out how I was going to be able to milk them when the time comes. I thought of hobbling, but as you stated, that won't prevent the jumping. Thanks, as always for an excellent video. God has sent you into my life when I most needed someone like you. ❤
I have given up on milking some goats. I can see that the leg hoist method of stopping kicks and jumps would have made it less stressful for us both on all occasions. After some years break, I am just starting with two new to me goats so it is good to have a workable plan. Thanks for the video.
#lazypondfarm Hey there! Haha! Don’t we all wish all the information could have been downloaded into our brains from the very beginning? 😆 Thankfully, the crazy doe is my best milker now 😊 How many goats do you have?
I know this old but girrrrl i?ve been there! Started out training myself and the goats lol spilled alot of milk in the beginning! Lol love your channel
Thank u for uploading my deamanded vedio.Ectually I like your expression and chatting while milking..Much funny. Also upload your babies vedios..They are cute.
You spurred me to action to get this one uploaded. So, thank you! Usually my kids do help me with everything, how did they miss being in this one?? Lol
Did the wild goat become easier with time to milk? I have two first time milkers and I’m new to this as well. They came to us “wild” and as much as we’ve tried to work with them, they still hate being touched or handled. I’ve milked them twice now, and just wondering if it ever gets any easier with the wild ones? It’s such a struggle! Great video! Also, I have your binder and I love it!
Thank you for sharing this very good information ❤️. I'm learning everyday a new thing about goat from you. Love from North East India Manipur. I'm a new starter in goat farm life. So I want to know when is the best time to milk a mother after giving a baby goat ?
@@DelcifromALifeofHeritage thank you SO much for your answer. I feel so blessed. I recieved my first doe in milk yesterday and never milked anything in my life. I nursed my own children, so knew she had to be miserable. I pulled almost 2 quarts from her just to relieve the pressure. So today I will begin clean catching. Again I appreciate your time!
I just milked my sweet Elsa for the first time this morning. She was not a fan. She is a 3rd time freshener but it was the first time milking for both of us! Is it too late for her to learn because of her age? She kept trying to pull her neck out of the stanchion and gagged a few times 😞 should I keep trying to milk every single day or should I go through a trust process where she gets on the stand and I just hold her udder with no milking so she gets use to it? I will add, she loves us, follows us around, is so sweet and loves to be touched. She shuts doesn’t like to be constrained.
Oh my soul! Night and day with the leg strap on Olivia! She was acting JUST like my Elsa on her first time milking today! I’m nervous I’m gonna scar her and she’ll never trust me on the stand 😕
Question, (newbie here) since they're herd animals, would it be an ok thing for the first few milkings to tie another goat close by so she doesn't feel so isolated & unsure? Is that a bad thing to do until they understand being milked isn't a bad gig?
Renew Your Mind I don’t think it would be a bad thing if you were set up to have another goat close by without them causing more problems :) if I let a goat nearby it would cause more harm than good. 😂 they would be in the middle of evening. This particular goat after her rough start in milking is eager for attention and loves to be in my goat videos so I will scratch her chin. Once they figure out what’s going on they realize it’s a good place for them and catch on quickly.
@@DelcifromALifeofHeritage - That makes sense! I tried to clean my goats shelter & they were hopping on me, chewing on my gloves, & hair so I totally get what you mean lol! 'In the middle of everything'. The comment posted prior to this one was before I saw the leg tied up & that looked like a great idea!! I have 2 kids, 1 doe about to kid, all are friendly so I hope when she's milked she won't be a Bronc lol. Do you kid share? How did you decide whether to kid share or milk twice per day?
Renew Your Mind the leg tied up has been truly helpful. With this crazy goat and for our bum we raised. She thought when she decided she was done she was done because she is just like that. 🤣 it’s fairly easy to kid share. If you need milk, lock up the kids at night together and then milk her in the morning before you let them out. The last couple of years the goats have kidded with a stagger and I haven’t needed the milk of the does with kids. Although I did start milking one doe when we decided to keep her doeling. It was probably after 3 or 4 months and I just milked her when I milked the others and got what I got from her. As she has been weaning I’ve been getting more milk from her. After weaning at 2 or 3 months I go to twice a day milking and then I drop the night milking at daylight savings time. And then stop milking around the new year. 😌
santosh yadav It really depends on what time of year and the goat. Between three goats, milking just once a day, I was getting 1 gallon. But that lessons throughout the year and more towards when they will kid again. Good question!
Just wonderful, been searching for "how to generate electricity for home use" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Diyadison Penhloe Blaster - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a great one of a kind product for generating your own electricity minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my neighbour got excellent results with it.
Thank you so much for this realistic view of milking a first timer!!
Love your personality and how real you are lol.
One of the more realistic milking videos, lol.
Lol it was quite a day. But I’m proud to say that this wild girl is one of my best milkers (and one of my favorites-don’t tell the others though 😉)
I really appreciate the time that you took to put all this together! thank you! 😊❤️

Very nice good job I hope you mack a lot of vedo
I will try my best! I have a pretty big Raising Goats playlist on TH-cam already!
How soon after kidding do you start milking?
We are wanting to dam raise; no bottle babies this season.

I use a watered down iodine. I just put water in the bottle and add some iodine 😊

Nice vedio.
How many years old is she?
The grain you feed them, is it different from their “meal” feed?
She was a couple years old.
And yes :)
I feed mine barley while I milk.
And then there is hay in the feeder outside
Thanks for uploading this video
Because my goat is untrained I'm doing wrestling every day with my goat for milking 😜😜😂😂
Lol
It’s a workout when they don’t cooperate for sure! Maybe tying up her foot will help?
@@DelcifromALifeofHeritage Thanks for giving suggestion sure I'll try my best

Well, wouldn’t you know!
What cleaning spray do you use?
Will a wipe with water/vinegar or maybe just a alcohol wipe?
