- Hi
In this video I like to show you the process of construction a retaining wall by Versa wall concrete blocks. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
Always an honour to watch a master at work. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful job!
Cheers from Los Angeles!
Thanks mate 👍
Good persian music in the background and great work
Thank you 😊
no reo bar, no starter bar, no core-filled concrete I really hope it stands the test of time and water pressure.
This is to the spec of the manufacturer. I am doing the same and have seen done the same. The gravel inside allows water to flow to the drainage behind or the front.
This wall can build up 7 courses and it is self drainage system wall.
Adbri say 3x without engineering,.. ending above needs engineering?....
@@Inboundbogie the sections that are over 800 high are not built to Adbri spec. But aside from the Adbri spec, I wonder if they get council approval for this?. In New South Wales, building approval is required for retaining walls that are taller than 600mm or located closer than 2 meters from another retaining wall, or closer than 1 meter to a lot boundary, or within 40 meters of a water body, or within 1 meter of a registered easement, sewer, or water main. And it doesn't matter that you are replacing an existing retaining wall - the council still needs to approve and inspect the new work.
Awesome job recording even it's over 2 years old! quick question, do you fill the versawall block cavity with concrete mix before backfilling the bluemetal/roadbase?
Fill up the blocks by 10mm blue metal.
Hi Max, What's difference between Versawall vs Besser Block for retaining wall. it looks like Versal is more expensive than Besser for meteral.
Besser blacks need mortar between and is cheaper but more labour cost.
Hi there, have you used liquid nails, when laying out second blocks of layers,? Also did you used steel mesh underneath the first layer of blocks? Thanks
Hi mate
On the structure detail from adbri (factory of the black) noted you can make a channel and fill it up by roadbass then compact it as a footing for this wall and install the blocks. No need concrete footing and mortar for any courses because they will lock together.
I suggest to make channel and fill up by concrete if it is more than 4 course use steel mesh in footing as well the laying first course on mortar because is easier to level and will be more stronger.
Also you don't need to use liquid nail for any courses, they will lock together.
Liquid nail will use for installing the caps only.
Regards
@@maxlandscaping perfectly explained to my question, thanks mate. If possible when you are doing next project similar like this, please add some extra video footage, which you just answered .keep the good work up. 👏
There's no way that footing is even 300mm thick .Lucky to be 100mm
Should you have used no fines concrete (NFC) as the wall is over 800mm?
You should core filled by concrete, but in this case client asked to avoid core filled by concrete just core filled by blue metal.
😂😂😂 client is idiot
how many depths of the concrete footing?
200mm deep x 400mm wide
@@maxlandscaping how did u get the footing level?
@@joelturner9520 by laser level
I wonder..... does the $30K price include labour costs?
My parents are just south of Sydney and are looking to have similar work done. That is to replace a 20 year old timber retaining wall and few other smaller things done. The quotes they've been getting are about $20K but that's to replace the retaining wall with new timber not blocks. Their wall is about 7 or so meters long. The other 'minor' jobs are to re-cement render a water feature which is around 2000 X 1500 and fix up a small raised garden bed that uses similar blocks (by Boral) to those you use here. Tree roots have gotten between those blocks. That wall is about 2 meters and only 3 courses high.
I know things are more expensive now but the quotes seem to be really high to me, especially considering all the work your team has done in this video for $30K.
Yes, it's look too expensive.
