  • Our first impressions of Tunisia start in Hammamet, a coastal town with a Meditteranean vibe to it. With white-washed buildings peaking out proudly from the fortified walls of the medina of Hammamet, and the beautiful turquoise blue sea along its coast, it is easy to see why tourists love Hammamet in the summer.
On this episode of our EXPLORING TUNISIA series, we ride 65km from Tunis to Hammamet (on our BMW GS 1250 Triple Black motorcycle!). We spend a pleasant afternoon wandering and getting lost in the medina, have some amazing Tunisian mint tea, and then visit the very accommodating cemetary of Hammamet where we discover an Islamic and Christian cemetery right next to each other!
Finally, we head back out on the road to our next stop.

very nice video Isabella, you are quite a presenter. Would be nice if you would drive your own motorcycle one day, if I am not mistaken you are not driving yourself now. You earned extra points by giving that teacup a nice walk outside of its territory. I enjoyed this journal very much.

Thank you so much for your kind comments.
I’m glad someone noticed how nice I was to that delicious cup of mint tea!
As for riding my own bike one day, i’m definitely working on that and will share my journey as well!
We’re glad that you enjoyed watching this episode. Hope to see you in the next one. Cheers!

That is a lot of police checks but at least you felt safer. The architecture reminds me of a city in morocco I visited. Looks super fun out there though! I’ll deffo give Tunisia a visit in the future

Yes. The checks are due to unrest in neighbouring countries, so that’s a very positive sign.
You definitely must visit Tunisia, and make sure to explore the south! It is a true gem!

13:58 Maybe you didn't know that a former Italian Prime Minister is buried in that Christian cemetery. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bettino_Craxi
