I watched a lot of Villa games and although no question Watkin's has had a very good season, he's also gone missing in an awful lot of them. Haaland has had a few AWOL's himself but not many and considering he's missed what, 3 months or so of games, his goal record again was impressive in that context. Foden, I think is a safe pick for POTY, although perhaps not the overwhelmingly consensual pick. Remember those 17 goals he's had are all non penalty goals similar to Watkin's but he's scored some really big goals, some absolutely fabulours eye catchers as well. All things considered, it isn't a bad pick . I agree about Gallagher being an isolated deal wherever he goes. I also do like Jhon Duran. I'd feel a lot more comfortable with him than I would Osimhen up front. I don't think the entire BoD is set on Poch although they almost can't sack him given the past couple of months. It took him an awfully long time to start getting the side to play well and see some patterns of play et al, far too long in fact however, can't sack him now. That said, I don't think the owners care one bit about how much Poch likes Conor - I think he'll be sold regardless and the message to Poch they need to do it and will balance it with a nice juicy recruitment replacement for him. Whether it actually happens or not is another thing altogether. I think Gallagher should be kept and also Chalobah. Both have been absolutely key to Chelsea's late success. However, I don't see any way possible given the financial situation that they don't see these 2 Chelsea blues. Really like both of them and I think both of these players are essential to the squad in so many different roles, their fighting spirit and the meaning of playing for the club. You always want some of these youth academy players in the side to keep it completely "Merc free" and establish a foundation of what it is to play for the club to rub off on others that do not know. I watched a lot of Villa games and although no question Watkin's has had a very good season, he's also gone missing in an awful lot of them.
Haaland has had a few AWOL's himself but not many and considering he's missed what, 3 months or so of games, his goal record again was impressive in that context.
Foden, I think is a safe pick for POTY, although perhaps not the overwhelmingly consensual pick. Remember those 17 goals he's had are all non penalty goals similar to Watkin's but he's scored some really big goals, some absolutely fabulours eye catchers as well.
All things considered, it isn't a bad pick .
I agree about Gallagher being an isolated deal wherever he goes. I also do like Jhon Duran. I'd feel a lot more comfortable with him than I would Osimhen up front.
I don't think the entire BoD is set on Poch although they almost can't sack him given the past couple of months. It took him an awfully long time to start getting the side to play well and see some patterns of play et al, far too long in fact however, can't sack him now.
That said, I don't think the owners care one bit about how much Poch likes Conor - I think he'll be sold regardless and the message to Poch they need to do it and will balance it with a nice juicy recruitment replacement for him. Whether it actually happens or not is another thing altogether.
I think Gallagher should be kept and also Chalobah. Both have been absolutely key to Chelsea's late success. However, I don't see any way possible given the financial situation that they don't see these 2 Chelsea blues. Really like both of them and I think both of these players are essential to the squad in so many different roles, their fighting spirit and the meaning of playing for the club. You always want some of these youth academy players in the side to keep it completely "Merc free" and establish a foundation of what it is to play for the club to rub off on others that do not know.
Still though, I think pure profit will see the two go. Pity though.

The Gallagher situation is very tricky. If Nkunku and Enzo are fully fit next season there's really no place for Gallagher in the starting 11. Then there's the issue of his contract. 1 year left, and market value likely to drop the longer he stays. If Villa or another club make the right offer I see him leaving unfortunately. I'd be sad to see it happen but it is what it is.
