Such a powerful message. I have been telling my daughter in law and many other girls married for more than a decade and trying desperately for a child, that a woman is complete by herself. She doesn't need a husband or children to prove her identify. She is a mother to the people she cares for. Her motherhood is not defined by the child she may or may not give birth too. This ad made my day. In our culture so much importance is given to the childbearing married woman and not to the humanity in her.

I personally refrain from generalising like this person did because some people get upset like you did which is understandable but this person was just meaning to refer to the prevalent societal ideals which are followed by most families today, which if not changed will be adopted by the next generations of these families as well. Its okay if someone doesn't want to... Motherhood is not a compulsion, it should be a choice.
But its really difficult to go through the pain when we want it to happen but our body doesn't support.. and ppl intentionally blame you for the things you have no control over.

I had tears watching this ad. I usually skip ads but this ad just held me till the end. It held my attention bcz I wanted to see what does the younger bahu has to say. N she spotted exactly the heart of millions of women who r going through the same phase. The message is so strong that you are more than this. One aspect doesn’t define your overall identity or personality. So much said in so little time. So well written & so well shot. It is a true reflection of society. Prega News is a brand to which the so called, “Good News” of the society is associated. N this kind of an ad coming from such a brand is really an incredible initiative. Great effort by PREGA NEWS of bringing up this concern so beautifully. I wish every family to be understanding like Lata’s in laws because this is a very sad reality of Indian society. My cousin got married 3 years ago he has no children but unfortunately no one cares if there is anything wrong with my cousin but always taunt his wife about not being able to give birth to a child.
Her mother in law that is my aunt is getting her some jadi bootiyas , goood I don't know when this will end.
I'm partly mad at my cousin for letting aunt do it.
The girls mother side is also the same, they think it's their daughter's fault and agreed to it.
See my cousin's wife is normal girl she hasn't achieved anything but I don't think she should be at fault neither should be my cousin if he's infertile.

Why does the society connect a woman's capabilities and identity with the status of her motherhood
That is the harsh reality unfortunately. But we, as women can make a change as we stand together and refuse to let society judge us. When we become mothers-in-law we need to embrace and support our daughters-in-law if they cannot have children.
Is the society criying in that ad.. don't claim suni sunai baate.. how many family members you have seen personally who deliberately tells anything you are complaing about. People are not robots they have different diffrent moods. Sometime our father or mother beat us without our mistake, or only shout on us without our mistake then are they representative of society belongs to parents . Sometime we misbehave with others does that make us belong to a bad people society. Sometime people say something and you start thinking that you are victim and others are society without recognising that you are the society equally others are, others have no seven billion heads.

All the comments are really amazing, meaningful. But still it's a bitter truth that after getting married and pregnant within a year or two is considered as a great achievement. The girl's parents (specially her mother) and the girl herself thinks that now she has won the half battle of new relationship. Or now everything is going on smoothly. And now guess the opposite side. Everybody keep on asking her. Coming to my own story l have married with a widower having 2 children. I took a decision of not having a baby. But still I am facing problems and other taunts. I have decided to stick to my decisions.

May God almighty give you strength. Take a job become financial independent. I know it won't solve problem or give that happiness. I am a fully fertile woman..... But i don't want to get pregnant and have kids at all... I don't like kidsat all... Unki wajah se apni life khatam ho jaati hai... Bachoo k liye poori zindgi itna sab kuch kro, or bade hokar wo apne maa baap ko vradh ashram chodh aate hain!! Aise naalayak aulado se acha hai aise hi rehna..... I am very happy without kids... 😊 patani logo ko kya maza aata hai bache paida karke😅 maine to abortion karwa liya tha... 🙏
