Currently working on the getting my Carrack Valor and Advance. It seems this is feasible if you have a geared carrack. Guess i'll stick to semi afk sailing.
1. when you say compass does that include the free reward ones that work for 1-2 days, or is it only the fully farmed one? 2. is this worth trying to replicate as a newer player that just bought a frigate off of the central market? 3. how are you able to tell which areas give you more or less exp for sailing? also thanks for the video
To answer your first question, yes, it works with all compasses. But I wouldn't really recommend doing it with a frigate because there is no real point getting your sailing exp up this way, mostly because your rations would be drastically lower compared to a Carrack. Doing sailies would be better. Also you wouldn't be able to go for an hour or even close to that because of your limited rations. It's still very doable, but it's going to be much more hands-on instead of afk. To answer your last question; if your compass/map in the top right corner says Margoria, you will get full exp, all the other coastal areas will only give you 25% of the amount.
@@Jaeona yeah it’s kind of just hard for Me to get myself into the non-combat aspects of the game because my brain always tricks me into thinking I’m mismanaging my time by not grinding when I’m logged in. Hopefully that will change when I’m “done” with my combat gear, but in the mean time I was looking for some hands-off method I could use until I get to that point. Do you have any suggestions on things I could do or am I better off just waiting until I can direct a bit more attention to my life skilling stuff?
@@smallcat5800 Grinding is sadly enough still the best way to make progress or feel like you're making progress, because it makes you the most amount of money. But you can always get into some light lifeskilling when you feel burned out from all the grinding. Something like farming, cooking and alchemy are great beginner lifeskills that will make you some money so you'll feel like you're making progress. Or you can start upgrading your frigate and get into some bartering. Working on improving your ship will always feel like progress. BDO is a marathon, not a sprint. :)

The devs mentioned next gen console upgrade by summer. Last gen is what’s holding consoles back. Due to availability. Now that people can actually purchase a PS5 and the Xbox on off the shelves, last gen gonna be left behind. Can’t wait. They say we should be on par with PC afterwards. At least for a few years.
Going along the currents gives more exp/time 'cause of greater speed since you get exp for distance traveled.
