As a grown man, I still get choked up when I see the table scene and kindness gesture between Clara and Ferula. Always tears me up after all these years!
Ferula was such a tragic character.... She never could live her sexuality, her brother was cruel with her, only Clara gave her such comfort as she could as a friend possibly could.
It's been 13 years since I first watched this movie. I was 9 years old and everyday, at least twice a day for a whole year I watched tgis movie, that's when I first realized I liked women. Poor Ferula, she is such a compelling character, life was so hard and unfair to her. The restaurant scene always makes me cry.
If you understood the book or movie. Ferula means the mirror image and second face of Clara as a witch. That's why Ferula loved Clara. That's why Ferula loves Clara. Clara loves Ferula too. Read book. Read a book.
I cant believe these two amazing actress have not done any other movies together!
Who would be the lead? Why not add Viola Davis???
One of the best told stories about a family and a country . Great actresses Maryl Streep and Glenn Close

That's a lovely memory. The same thing happened to me with the film Maurice.

Blanca is so beautiful and delicate I can't believe her husband hit her.
Men don’t care

Glenn Close as Baby Jane, Meryl Streep as Blanche.
Oooh that'd be good
Glenn Close maravilhosa como sempre. ❤
I've always said that Glen close is the better actress.
Nagyon meglep, hogy a hozzászólasokban csak a színésznők kapnak dicséretet.
Szerintem Jeremy Irons és a fiatal színészek is nagyon jók.
I love the couple Clara/Ferula ❤️ I ship their story. Fuck Esteban!! 😂
un cast di bravissimi attori
Esatto!
And here I thought they were the same person
Yep. Me too 😂😂
Winona Ryder Meryl Streep Antino Bandras and Jeremy Irons all superb actors and Glenn Close. She was also in Reserval Of Fortune with her in 1990.
Bonita serie
Férula loved her romantically but Clara didn't love her back. Not that way. But as a sister-in-law.
And that was a lot considering Clara was constantly living in her own world of fantasy and spirits
i believe she loved her for who she was but not sexually.
Miss Ryder

Does anyone notice that the actress playing young Clara is Grace Gummer aka Dominique on Mr Robot?
And the daughter of meryl Streep
Complimenti senza sottotitoli.
Almeno quello.

So Ferula saw that Esteban and Clara making love D8
Several times actually and when Esteban throw her out of the house he was waaay more angry and aggressive
She didn't respect her brother. Felt he didn't deserve her. (Clara)
@@schoolinJOO and she was right, Esteban was a deeply troubled and violent man
Meryl Streep is op af.
