  • Colonial Airstream tour a 2024 Airstream International a BRAND NEW FULL TOUR, given by Patrick Botticelli of Colonial Airstream. We take you on a full tour led by one of the best Airstream expert tour guides in the business. Highlighting the first looks at the changes to the 2024 International. This 23 FBQ is a wonderful trailer with some great upgrades. We decided after much debate and heartache that our 2023 25 FBQ was more trailer then we wanted to deal with and decided to DOWNSIZE to this 23 ft trailer. The upgrades to the 2024 are just a handful but they are extremely well thought out and definitely benefit the end user and our camping experiences to come. ‪@colonialairstream‬ ‪@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures‬

    Wow, I can't wait for your new video regarding why you ended up going back to the 23 ft. My husband and I have a GB 23 but have been considering going up to a 25ft. Since we can't get the GB in 23 ft any more we want to make sure we know what we are doing so can't wait to hear to cons of the 25ft. We too love Patrick. If we were in that part of the country hands down we would buy from him. We have nick named him "Skippy" because he is so enthusiastic and knows his Airstreams! Wonderful for you to have him give the walk through of your new 23 International which is beautiful by the way! Thanks again for your videos!

    Could you go into further detail of why you went from a 25 foot to a 23 foot? I thought the 25 foot was my dream trailer, but now im not so sure 😅. Really interested in your thoughts. 🙏

    As others noted comparison 23 vs 25. While I see you have an F250 which could also downsize for the 23, the question is a properly equipped half ton as others noted max tow F150 with the 25. Personally, being a photographer I see light and as a result prefer the 25 with the dining and bedroom window wraparound vs the end bath blocking off the light/view. Want to pull the trigger on a 25 (FC or Trade Wind) but forums push the 3/4 ton which I don't want as a daily driver and am spoiled with the ride, handling and the 24-30MPG (unhitched) with the GMC 3.0L diesel. On paper would appear to work as Max Tow pkg among other things increased rear axel to 4150 (vs 3800), max payload 1650 (doable but would always like more), conventional towing 12900 and max Tongue weight 1290. With typical forum reported fully loaded TW of FC25 around 1000 lbs (860 advertised dry) I've noticed the advertised dry TW of the Trade Wind is even lower at 725 which may be the way to go!

    I think Patrick is awesome. He’s so definitive and he knows his airstream. Truly, she takes pride in them and that’s great to see if I was ever buy an issue in Trail I deafly going to colonial trailers.

    We put a 2” memory foam on the dinette cushions to make it more comfortable to sleep and works perfectly.

    • @LovingLifeHitchedUp
      @LovingLifeHitchedUp  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That would definitely make it more comfortable for anyone sleeping on the dinette.

    Looking forward to hearing about your pros/cons of 23’ v 25’. We have a Ford 150 with 1900# payload and are considering the Flying cloud 25fb but are concerned about potential towing issues. Did you find the 25’ tongue weight too much for a half-ton? Thanks and hope you are recovering from your surgery.

    Sweet, nice new camper. Pearl loved the seat in the shower. Our RV is aluminum too and drilling holes is the last thing I'm wanting to to. Great sales dude, loved the tour.

    That is a really nice trailer. We have gone bigger twice now, but my next one will definitely be heading back to a smaller size. Really like the 25 foot International actually. Big enough to have space for frequent anytimers, but small enough to get most anywhere, and plenty easy to tow with an F150 with max tow package. As always, safe travels...

    • @LovingLifeHitchedUp
      @LovingLifeHitchedUp  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If we had kept our F150 we probably would have enjoyed towing the 25 foot more. We especially loved the hatch on our 25 and will definitely miss it.

    Can’t wait for your next video! We’ve had our 23 front bed for six months now. I find it perfect my husband is already thinking he wants a 25. We are not full timers, but we do go for a month at a time. I feel like the 23 is perfect for us in every way Release your video soon! 😊

    Upgrading for USB and Starlink hook up? Would have been MUCH less expensive upgrading your GT. You could have purchased the smart plug and USB. Easy install/swap out.

    • @LovingLifeHitchedUp
      @LovingLifeHitchedUp  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We definitely did not upgrade for usb and starlink, LOL, much more complicated than that. We had upsized to a 25ft international with a hatch and also upsized our TV to a F250 and had a miserable experience going that large. 9K miles later we DOWNSIZED back to the sweet spot for us 23FT and 1/2 Ton truck. Bigger is not always better, it depends on your needs and travel style. In the end our travels are our vacation time and they should be relaxing and enjoyable not stressed and "work like". In the end life is a learning experience and we continue to learn as we go. Thank you for you support and totally agree it would have been cheaper to stay with the GT!

    Patrick is a great spokesman for Airstream brand. We love watching his videos.
    Did I hear correctly that he has 12,000 watts of Lithium? Wondering if he meant 1,200 watts of solar or 1,200 AH of lithium?

    • @LovingLifeHitchedUp

    We used to have the 23 ft before we went full time. We think we may go back to a 23 ft now that we are anytimers and have a home base.

    I just picked up a 27FBQ Globetrotter. I’m towing with a 2500HD Duramax. I’m 6’1” and for me felt the 23 was a little small. But that’s a nice coach.
    You going to Hershey show ?

  • @paulvance3735
    @paulvance3735 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Beautiful! Just wondering if the tow vehicle factored into your decision to change back to the smaller airstream. We were also Tab 400 owners and upsized to an Intech Expedition but sometimes wonder if we should have gone slightly larger.

    • @LovingLifeHitchedUp
      @LovingLifeHitchedUp  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes we are not fans of the F250 ride quality too harsh and I personally feel the F250 is too much truck for a 25ft 7300lb trailer.
      Thus it is for sale.

    • @paulvance3735
      @paulvance3735 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the feedback. We have an F-150 and really like the size. Is that too small for a 25’ trailer? We were considering a Terra but didn’t want a larger truck. Sounds like we might already have the perfect combination for us with an Expedition and an F-150. Happy travels to you both!
