I was so sad to hear this burned down. As a kid in the 70’s, I had a horse boarded there and rode all over that area. There were over a 100 horses boarded there at that time.
I didn't realize the ranch had burned. I toured the house and grounds with my extended family a couple of times - so interesting hearing about his family and the parties they had (he would make drawings on the invitations and place cards)! - and had picnics on the grounds near the polo field with a couple of friends. It was a wonderful, beautiful, peaceful place. I'm very sad that it's gone.
@@herrprepper2070 It wasn't a State Historical Park when he was alive. His family gifted the property to the public in 1944 so people could learn about him and his legacy. There were hiking and riding trails and polo matches on weekends. Part of the property became Will Rogers State Beach.
This is why Art is very important to preserve not destroyed. The Animals is also another massive Loss. Hope we can all recover love from L.A... Roger's Park was always the spot to hang out after the beach.
I proposed to my wife in Will Roger’s state park in 1978, been to the Museum in Claremore as well, that is a tragedy, when we were dating we would go their on Saturday morning and watch them play Polo
This is heartbreaking. I cannot adequately express my heartfelt sorrow for the victims of these destructive fires. It is so beyond sad. May God grant each peace. ❤🙏❤️
I visited there in 1975. Will was gone just 40 years then and there were still many alive that knew or saw him. When his widow died in 1944 they reportedly left the house the way it was. It was really a time capsule. From time to time, Will Rogers, Jr came to the house . Jennifer is a dead spittin' image of her great grandfather and he would be proud of her.
True. But much of thd historical artifacts are gone forever. It's like a Museum of Great Library burning. You can build a new building. Grow trees again. But the artifacts are gone. It's sad.

With all respect can we please cut the crap. Nobody knows who Will Rogers was unless you're 100 years old. I'm 54 and I don't know who the hell he was and I've never cared one bit. Just sell off the museum all the pieces and the land because nobody cares about Will Rogers anymore.

So sad. Will Rogers is a legend. This is a terrible loss!
So sorry this home and ranch were also lost to this devastating fire storm.
I visited Will Rogers ranch many times. Such a wonderful place. Rogers is a true American hero. They can rebuild his ranch and continue his legacy.
how can you rebuild a historical home that he once lived in? it's gone and that is the reality, sadly
@@a-love-supremist Have you seen everything rebuilt in Europe after WW2? Monte Casino? Read some real history books.

If you’d have nosed around when old Will was alive, he would have had you arrested for trespassing.

WR wouldn’t have a pool built for his children because the ocean would suffice.

Hard to believe I babysat this woman's parent way back when I was like 20. I'm 65 now.
Wow!!!! That's awesome that you babysit her parents.

Visited friends who lived about a mar from Will Rogers Ranch, years ago, what a tragedy to all California
I loved hiking in this landmark!!! Tragic that it’s been decimated!!!😢
So sad, I am sorry. Letting you know I am thinking of you all, especially the people lost everything.

I’m glad to hear at least a few artifacts could be saved before the fire.
Hope they will find a new home at the Claremore Museum!
A legacy gone very sorrowful 😢😢
So very sad at the loss. Blessings 🙏💞 for all of the family of Mr. Rogers 💕 🙏😊
So very sorry for all the losses of these horrific and destructive fires
Spent every morning at the polo field walking my dogs with my Daddy 20 years ago. Thank you 🙏
This is a wonderful historic museum. Everyone should visit. It's in a beautiful setting
I designed the fire sprinkler system refit for the old barn/stables. With a fire that big and no water pressure it was never going to survive.
My family wove the curtains that were in the house back in the 50's for them
Very shocking

This is such a horibble loss. I went a few years ago it was awesome.
I lived on Arcadia for 30 years of my life... I didn't know Will Rogers park even existed... I missed out on visiting awesome landmark. 😱😭
I saw that with my parents when I was a child. That is terrible it burnt.
