Only the higher graded ones sell for that much, if he was using them to play with, the condition would have been worse, and ungraded, still worth quite a bit, but not 100k, more like 10k.

I’m in my late 40s and your channel is like Saturday morning cartoons for me as a kid ! I look forward to my Saturday morning watching this. Side note: I bought a few months ago the Octomore 14.1 and am opening it tonight for the first time. Can’t wait!
I am also in my late 40's. When I read your comment I laughed cause I feel the same way, hah! I recently opened the Octomore 14.2 and it was amazing. Enjoy!
I am also in my late 40's. When I read your comment I laughed cause I feel the same way, hah! I recently opened the Octomore 14.2 and it was amazing. Enjoy!
Bruichladdich is my absolute favorite line of scotch. Classic Laddie is my go to daily sipper and Black Art is my special occasion choice. It helps it is not overly popular and the prices stay down unlike Lagavilin or Ardbeg.
Classic Laddie is so good. I love that it’s a affordable-ish, $60 where I live which is the same price as Highland Park 12, and the the Sherry butts are well integrated.
That is probably going to be one of the next bottles of whiskey I need to hunt for when I finish off one of my bourbons. Currently have 6 scotches and looking to expand my appreciation for them beyond Ardbeg Wee Beastie, Oban Little Bay, Glennfiddich 14, Dalmore 12 and Balvenie 12 DoubleWood. Still have yet to open my Highland Park 12 and try it.
No lie, I’m 6mo nicotine free bc of füm. Obviously you have to have the inner desire. It was one of the hardest things I’ve done, and I still find times I find myself feeling my pockets for a vape out of passive habit. Definitely put it on a lanyard. You got this.
"This one has a touch of burning tires lifted by a slight overtone of arse and infused with tincture of rancid avocado", yep and it's only $1000 a bottle. You can just say any kind of crap when describing booze and no one can say you are wrong as its what you are experiencing.
Port Charlotte is a fantastic Scotch with a great drip-preventing lip on the bottle, but I think I have to go with the Wee Beastie for the best bang for the buck smokey Scotch.
Bruchladdich is a personal favorite when it comes to whisky, and I've been very lucky to try many of their expressions and versions of their products, including some of the older and more rare varieties. Port Charlotte & Laddie are great daily sippers with Octomore & Black Art being fantastic for special occasions. Some of my favorites have been their peated varieties finished in sherry casks.
After hunting for 3 years i finally found an octamore in the wild and its the 14.1. Happy to say its the best scotch in my collection and worth every penny
Best bang for your buck Scotch in my area (Denver) right now is between Highland Park 12 and Laphroaig 10 at about $45, but Port Charlotte 10 is definitely up there. It's gone up recently to about $80 here from $65 a year ago, though, which is unfortunate. It's really an excellent whiskey for the price range. Same story with Ledaig 10, which is one of my longtime favourites.
Would be fun to have an episode on non-traditional (Ireland, Scotland, US) whisky countries - maybe a run through some of the European countries? I know we've had some award winning whiskies distilled here in Denmark, and I bet there are other great whiskies in other European countries as well.
General remarks: I like Bourbon. Both American and Japanese. If a bottle tastes good, and is smooth I don't focus on the cost. However, I do have Mixing vs sipping. I wont waste sipping where a mixer will do. Cheers.
So for me a bang for your buck is Glen Moray Elgin Classic. It’s often on the “crowd pleasers” feature shelves of bottle shops here and I think that’s mostly because it’s bloody cheap but has enough going on for people to think there’s depth to talk about; but I genuinely don’t know enough about the brand I could just drink it all day (responsibly)
Haven't been drinking whiskey for too long; but so far I've been liking a nice 10$ bottle of Canadian Mist. Mixing it in with a green monster energy makes it taste like maple syrup.
Hey guys, really enjoying your video and your take on the Bruichladdich I liked it so much that I signed up for a tasting in February which includes the classic laddie, the black arts, 11.1, Port Charlotte ten year, Port Charlotte pmc:01 and octomore 14.1 14.2 and14.3 from Kensington Wine market in Calgary for 50 bucks. It’s a great way to try a lot of different whiskeys. I’m excited for this one.
Port Charlotte 10 is my favorite Islay. I am really into Ancnoc 10 right now. Enough peat to know it's there, but not Islay level. And living in Central Texas, Balcones Single malts, (so many great variations,) are always on my bar.
As someone who started their peat journey with Ardbeg Oogie, I don't know if pointing someone to Port Charlotte is the best way to go when unraveling the complexity of a distilleries profile such as Bruichladdich. I feel like their Classic Laddie (keeping in mind that I worked backwards starting with extreme peat to little peat) is a much better "pleasure to meet you, my name is Bruich" than something as hammer-over-the-head-y as Port Charlotte. No need to throw a no0b into the deep end.
Brian's story at the end made my heart sad. The sound of a nerd screaming was heard. That being said, I need to try a couple of these pours apparently. I do love me a peaty scotch.
The guy with glasses and blue dress shirt is the guy I want to hang out with. He’s taking it seriously but not being snobby. I think the cost of the whisk(e)y is how it was made. The more time a whisk(e)y ages, the more time it sits around the less of the product they have. It’s why a 50yr Scotch can cost thousands of dollars. Also, the longer you ferment, the more complex it will be and the more time it will take to distill the whisk(e)y. Brianna must want to be a comedian, or doing weed. She all over the places in the videos. I love it.
Bang for the buck: y’all turned me on to teachers highland cream. That’s my go-to flask whiskey because I don’t want to put anything too nice into a flask for sitting around a fire. At home when I can enjoy a poor a little more fully, I love Scarabus cask strength. It’s a total wine house brand (I suspect it’s Caol Ila, but can’t confirm) that for the price is absolutely delightful. An amazing balance of smoke and fruit.
Of all these the PC10 is the only one currently in stock at my place, but it is the litre bottle, because buying in bulk is planning for the future. And better value at $160NZD... For reference the 700ml is $125NZD here. It's kinda steep.
The classic laddie is one of my favorites, but I've not tried the Port Charlotte 10 or the Black Arts. Someday.... And please...somebody give Brianna her own bottle of smokey Islay goodness! It hurt inside, watching that Scotch-starved angel throwing herself against the metal roller gate like that....😊
The one I was most excited about trying from the tasting notes was Black Arts, but I think that's out of my price range 😅 Don't know if it counts as bang for your buck, but my favorite scotch is Oban and it's usually around $80 so not too expensive. If you really want to go hard on the savings, the Costco Kirkland 12-year scotch is serviceable and cheap as hell.
Never had the octomore but of the others i think the port charlotte 10 is my favorite . I purchased the classic laddie but its just not my thing . Great video
love this line up its a fun one my family and friends have done bang for your buck scotch im going with compass box artist blend or spice tree depending on your buck =]
I once had a wonderful experience trying a Port Charlotte, followed by Laphroaig Cairdeas. What a combination. Better yet, I was moochin it in the vault .
Ledaig 10 has been a great bang for your buck for me, but the price has been going crazy lately. Over $80 in Minnesota right now. Was $65 a few months ago.
Bruichladdich is my preferred scotch distillery, Port Charlotte 10 is my preferred bottle. Some day I aspire to spend Octomore money. I can only dream of a pour of Black Art.
Brian Brushwood from scam school and the mohawk from back in the day?! Dang that brings back memories! Also giving away alpha cards especially black lotus is nuts 😂 wish ya kept them!
Got the laddie, same with the 10 year old and octomore 8.4. Would love to have some of that Black art at some point. Nice video, its good to see people picking up completely different things on these.
I would agree on if I was recommending where someone else should start, the port charlotte 10 but my personal preference is towards the PC experimental casks like the OLC01/ SC01/ PMC01.
If first venturing to Islay, I'd start with exploring Bunnahabhain. I'd try all the others and probably end with Ardbeg & Laphroaig. Love them all, well except some Laphroaig can just be too much for me at times. Though I do enjoy their PX finished.
I have yet to find a peated Bunnahabhain I like. I'll take a Laphroaig 10 over them any day. Their unpeated stuff is truly excellent but I'm a peat head and their stuff just doesn't do it for me.
Briana, the respect you earned in this video from the Whiskey Tribe and the whiskey world at large is worth far, far more than your bottle of Black Art 1992. Congratulations, I know you won't let it go to your head. I hope you get to enjoy more Black Art 1992. This was masterfully written and produced. Congratulations to everyone involved!
Give that man a bigger glass. I'm not saying it's the right choice...the only choice. Meanwhile, Brianna waxes poetic. Y'all...The whole team...I have no words
Bang for your buck: Laphroaig 10. There’s so much going on in that bottle, and I can get it locally for $43. For the price, I can’t find anything that matches the complexity
Tasting Classic Laddie after peated Scotches is not really fair. Listening to Brianna describe it as smokey when it has no peat at all is proof that it needed to be tasted first, before the peated ones.
I’m not a scotch fan as of yet but I think I’d enjoy drinking em with y’all. Or at least trying them. I’ll bring some bourbon and beer in case I can’t stand the scotch.
Bruichladdich is the best distiller. Port Charlotte Islay Barley is my favorite "daily drinker". But damn I fucking love all Octomores. Oh and Port Charlotte MRC is my favorite scotch of all time.
In British Columbia, best scotch bang for buck has to be Glen Garioch Founders Reserve or the 12 year old. $65 Canadian avg price. For peaty stuff, the Ledaig 10 by far on bang for buck scale
Hearing Brianna talking about traditional flavors when our introduction to her was tastes like bucket is just strange.
the best note ever was scotch tape, I feel like I know exactly what she meant
I miss the weird, but on the nose(see what I did there?) descriptions
Armpit
Bucket was hands down the most on point but off the wall tasting note, and I still come back to it regularly.
A new bucket at that.
Brian's story at the end made my jaw drop and hit the floor...
Straight hit me like a freight train.
Right? That card was already worth a lot in the late 90s when I had interest in it. Bro's been kicking himself for a long time

I feel like this would have been an Episode where Daniel would have been in heaven and Brianna has improved with her tasting notes immensely
British accent guy blows Daniel’s screen presence out of the bung hole.
OH NO, THE BLACK LOTUS!!!!!! Poor guy! If only we could go back and tell ourselves things. :D
Brian saying "Nooo" with bill cosby's face is absolutely hilarious
I’ve said Briana gives my favorite flavor notes ever since her first appearance and I continue to stand by that.
Bruichladdich is my absolute favorite line of scotch. Classic Laddie is my go to daily sipper and Black Art is my special occasion choice. It helps it is not overly popular and the prices stay down unlike Lagavilin or Ardbeg.

I'm going to use "farm fruits" as my go to note from now on. Regardless of what it is.

6:50 I'm currently sipping on some Rare Breed. I'm loving the hoodie that looks somewhat like a Southern plantation owner's casino jacket.
"This one has a touch of burning tires lifted by a slight overtone of arse and infused with tincture of rancid avocado", yep and it's only $1000 a bottle.
You can just say any kind of crap when describing booze and no one can say you are wrong as its what you are experiencing.
_AK-tually,_ fruit is generally orchard grown, not farmed. So... Yeah....
;)
Best-bang-for-your-buck-scotch: Kirkland Islay
NOT THE BLACK LOTUS!
Port Charlotte is a fantastic Scotch with a great drip-preventing lip on the bottle, but I think I have to go with the Wee Beastie for the best bang for the buck smokey Scotch.

Port Charlotte & Laddie are great daily sippers with Octomore & Black Art being fantastic for special occasions. Some of my favorites have been their peated varieties finished in sherry casks.
I am glad to see another Brian doing a Brian blend... aka dump everything into one glass to see what happens.
This is a perfect example of how you can find something truly great at whatever price you're willing to spend 😁
From Bruichladdich. I'm pretty sure they could release a 20buck bottle and it woudl be fantastic
@@backtoearth1983 You're probably spot on 😆
I wanted to say thank you for this channel. I have never tried Whiskey before. No interest. But this channel has made me want to try it.
Banana hammock makes me giggle too.
Got a Wizard Academy ad before this video, watched the whole thing- love the synergy☺️
Bunnahabhain 12 may be my favorite single malt on the planet right now. Definitely my favorite unpeated single malt.
Port charlotte 10 heavily peated is one of my favorites. Laphroaig Select is also one that is great for the price.
Port Charlotte heavily peated is my jam.
Just bought and tried my first octomore, the 14.1 and good god it's delicious! I havnt tried other the others from them so now I definitely will.

This was such a fun video! I love the energy of everyone, this is such a great team. Keep the content coming!
I'm with Rex; that Port Charlotte 10 Heavily Peated like pure mana.
Then again, I've never had the pleasure of tasting an Octomore or the Black Art.
Best bang for my Islay buck, Islay Mist. It's reportedly a younger Laphroaig, and it's only $25 in Michigan. What a delightful unassuming find.
I get too much grain in that one. Try dun bheagan for ultra budget peat.
I'll keep an eye out for that outside my state. It's not available here with the liquor control sadly. Thanks for the suggestion!
Voicemail is for important people.
Whiskey is for NOW.
He never fails to provide great quotes and quips!
Now you really need to send branana to Scotland after using her Black Art.
For a peated, the Port Charlotte 10, unpeated , the Laddie for sure. These are my favorites within my budget.

Excellent video!
I'm only missing 14.4 to have the full set of the latest Octomore series, I seriously hope I can get my hands on it.
My go to for newbies is the Arran 10. Great intro to scotch for bourbon drinkers.
Ledaig 10 has been a great bang for your buck for me, but the price has been going crazy lately. Over $80 in Minnesota right now. Was $65 a few months ago.
Great vid. Recently got a hold of Black Art. Totally gonna try this exact tasting with my lads. Great job!
Balvenie 12 Sweet toast of American oak is crushable
Port Charlotte Heavily Peated 10 is my favorite whisky
Good Day all you MBs!
I always try and keep port Charlotte 10 and classic laddie around. Perfect for a value trip through islay.
The Thing! Hello?! That J&B bottle appear in the first and last scenes and everywhere in between!

My drink of choice is an Aldi's brand seltzer with a little bit of lemon juice.
I don't get out much.
Pairing suggestion: Kumquats with Classic Laddie. That combo will *slay* Brianna.
Ardbeg Uigeadail, and Oban 14 are my two favorite budget friendly picks
Love Islay🎉
If first venturing to Islay, I'd start with exploring Bunnahabhain. I'd try all the others and probably end with Ardbeg & Laphroaig. Love them all, well except some Laphroaig can just be too much for me at times. Though I do enjoy their PX finished.

Bang for buck imho is Jura 10. Used to be ~$40 in the Midwest and has all my favorite notes
Why would you give away the black lotus!!!😂😂
Briana, the respect you earned in this video from the Whiskey Tribe and the whiskey world at large is worth far, far more than your bottle of Black Art 1992. Congratulations, I know you won't let it go to your head. I hope you get to enjoy more Black Art 1992. This was masterfully written and produced. Congratulations to everyone involved!
On my bar cart now I have the 10 heavily peated and the laddie. Another budget that I always have in the rotation is the Glenmorangie La Santa
Wow black lotus! But you do still have friends? Nice one Brian Brushwood.
I have two bang for your buck scotches, Compass Box Great King Street Glasgow Blend and Jura 10 year.
Caol Ila 12 is a great addition to any home bar.
Give that man a bigger glass. I'm not saying it's the right choice...the only choice. Meanwhile, Brianna waxes poetic. Y'all...The whole team...I have no words
The fum ad in this video showed up as an ad on a random video I watching on youtube. All I could think was "hey, I know those guys!"
Gimme a watered-down cask strength bourbon! Enjoying Knob Creek's Rye CS rn.
@brian I did, in fact, scream for your donated Black Lotus story 😂 My friends have been playing since 1994ish
Bang for your buck: Laphroaig 10. There’s so much going on in that bottle, and I can get it locally for $43. For the price, I can’t find anything that matches the complexity
God, I wish I could taste that lineup!
Tasting Classic Laddie after peated Scotches is not really fair. Listening to Brianna describe it as smokey when it has no peat at all is proof that it needed to be tasted first, before the peated ones.
Oban Distiller's edition! Their stock 14 year old is superb as well.
Glenallachie 12yr. The price is creeping up because the word is out but it's a desert island Scotch for me. Cheers!
I’m not a scotch fan as of yet but I think I’d enjoy drinking em with y’all. Or at least trying them. I’ll bring some bourbon and beer in case I can’t stand the scotch.
