You gotta give the camera man a lot of credit. He knows the proper distance and angles to see clearly. I can't tell you how many videos out here actually block what's being done.
This video really helped clear the fog for my repair, it was on a Toro but was close enough for me to complete. Had a rock in between one hydro pulley which pulled the belt off and then the catastrophic damage occurred to belt. Thanks for this step by step how to!
I’ve been a subscriber for a couple of weeks. Broke the hydraulic pump belt this afternoon on my exmark and yours was the first video that popped up. Thanks Taryl.
Taryl Rules All! Just the video I needed on my 20 yr. old mower. I did the clutch a few years ago but this really lines out how easy the whole process is. As mentioned, your clutch came off super easy, as other's have mentioned. If I remember I had to tap my old one with an air hammer a couple times to loosen the original for removal.
Taryl, thanks for the tvideo. Thanks to you I replaced my belt yesterday and it works like a charm. Also, thanks to Mr. Tcameraman. The clear close-up shots were great in identifying everything. Keep up the good work.
That one looked super easy. My drive belt had to go between two plates, and there wasn't enough slack to get it on the last pulley. I had to zip tie the belt to the last pulley and turn it with a home made tool. Just a nut welded to a piece of flat stock that fit between two bolts in the pulley that I turned with a ratchet wrench. But I crawled on the ground, I didn't jack the mower up. It took me almost 4 hours lol. Next time it will be much faster now that I know exactly what to do.
Cant figure out how to put pump belt back on exmark quest, took off while changing clutch??Thanks for any help including best place to get clutch!!! 42 in deck
Completely off topic but I'm having problems with my exmark lazer zero turn mower not charging the battery. Can winter cold weather cause the voltage rectifier to go bad
My Exmarks is a little older than this one but it helped me.Only problem, now it will start but when I release the brake or bring the arms in the engine shuts down. Like there's a kill switch somewhere. Mercury switch?
They have a number of kill switches, around a half dozen. I located and jumped all mine. Better to replace them but I had numerous times in the field where they failed after I thought I'd had them repaired. Can't be absent minded if you do this, and definitely a danger if you mow steep terrain. *Bypass at your own risk*
Great video. Does that spring on the Idler arm need changing too? looks kinda fatigued..? Also, it's easier to do it just like that with out actually removing the clutch, just the clutch anchor..
Do you ever do any videos on Kubota zero turn mowers? I have one I'm trying to change the HST belt on and I can't figure out how to get it on one of the pulleys.
another great how too that was funny. Loved that craftsman in there. I know by listening that has a Kohler Command/Kohler Pro Vtwin. I can tell by listening to it crank up. I know its a model with Hydraulic Valve Lifters.
Hi I have a question I have one scag walk behind belt drive but the belt don't have tension im change the springs but still no have tension just when I push puller between whit the belt

My boss is adamant about putting a piston stop in the spark plug hole and using a torque wrench to put the clutch on, just don't tell him I have been using an electric torque wrench for years! Never had a single issue and have done a thousand of them.
The belt taken off is known as a "notched belt", the notches are supposed to help keep the belt cooler and from getting hot. It really doesn't matter about using a notched or regular belt.
You gotta give the camera man a lot of credit. He knows the proper distance and angles to see clearly.
I can't tell you how many videos out here actually block what's being done.
These guys R one of kind... Luv Taryl

You do not have to remove the clutch to replace the drive belt. Saves you a lot of work.
But it does give you more visibility. I think I'm gonna try mine without removing the clutch as well though.

Thank you Guys for the education and a laugh! Now lets see if I'm laughing tomorrow when I attempt it my self.
are the OEM cog style belts better or worse than the newer replacements like you used? I've heard the kevlar are better but need opinions?
I went ahead and picked up a cogged factory replacement myself. If mine was original, it lasted 20 years.
It's a lot funner to put on when you're laying in the grass of a customer's yard.

Not a bad idea to be thorough and safe. If he's paying you by the hour, do it his way.
@@satanertau2689 He only does it that way because he split a crank on a pushmower once by pounding the blade bolt in with a big snap on impact!
Actually it was quite a job!
