I had driven XUV 500 W8 Manual Transmission for more than 7 years. I have driven over 135000 KMS. I finally sold my vehicle this year for a great price. I am definitely a XUV fan. This time I have gone for New Tata Safari because, I know I will get the sturdiness and Punch of old XUV only in the new Tata Safari. I am driving Tata Safari XZA+ (Top end version) for last 3 months and I am very Happy with the performance. I am not at all missing my old XUV. The new XUV 700 will definitely not replace the Old XUV 500. Please don't get carried away by features. People questioning electronics, but they don't understand there are more ecus in a car than all the chips in your household and hand held electronics combined. These ecus comes with quality assured and rudely tested by top automotive companies like Bosch, continental, Visteon etc. So don't bias yourself that more electronics means more problems. Boy you're gonna hate Tesla electric car if you don't like too much electronics in your car. Tech is the future, you accept it or not, i get that it's hard for some people when they are handed with something futuristic.

The world is a great book, those who do not travel read only a page. So you people are doing and enjoying great. Keep it continue. God bless both of yoy.
I have just completed my Ladakh trip with my 2 n half months old XUV500 W9 manual. The 'Cheetah' has offered a stunning performance! Previously I put my faith on the tried and tested one and now I am just feeling great n proud regarding my flawless decision.
Excellent analysis. I totally agree with your thought process. More power options.... more chance of breakdowns and repairs. I agree with your thoughts on this - good old manual options are best. The only aspect of power seat I like is it remembers your most comfortable setting all the time, but with some trial and error, one can adjust in a manual seat car. Too much electronics equates to too much expenditure as the car gets older, but if one only keeps the car for the warranty period and then sells it, then this should not be a problem. Though I like both manual and auto transmission, I feel auto transmission allows you to relax and enjoy chai- coffee-snacks in city driving which is difficult to do with manual transmission. On the other hand, I like driving manual transmission during long distance driving as it gives a feeling of more control over the car (and prevents one from falling asleep).
Test driven it twice since yesterday. Features are good. AC performance is top notch. Gear shifts are notchy. Engine pull is pretty good. And let me tell you, the suspension setup on the Tata Safari/Harrier is miles ahead of Mahindra. The driving dynamics and ride quality is simply not up to the mark as Tata vehicles. It felt more like MG. And the most marketed features, flush door handles, 3D Sony audio are just gimmicky at best. And the build quality is average. Way too many cheap plastics. You'll feel it the moment you step into it. For evidence, just look the the wheel arch plastic cladding in person. You'll know what I'm talking about. The seats are just not premium and comfortable enough for a 26 lac+ vehicle (I know it starts from 14 lacs on road. That's the culprit). ADAS works pretty good. Software is laggy (Give it some time. You'll see it.) Cameras are okayish. The biggest flaw with the humungous screens is you CANNOT see it in direct sunlight. It's just not bright enough. Check the 360° parking camera in direct sunlight. You'll get it. Automatic transmission works flawlessly. Drive modes work fine. Fit and finish could be a lot better. Overall the XUV700 is a fun vehicle and has a good set of features and is true to the current market demand. Tech features. Most people don't even understand what they do. But yeah that's the point I think. I would rather have ventilated seats and better build quality than the stupidly huge screens. They tried to mimic Merc. A lot. But I think Mahindra should rethink the whole pricing strategy. That's the major culprit here. You can either make a premium vehicle or a mass market vehicle. You just can't do both. And that shows. The Safari is just a better SUV. Because that's what SUVs are all about. Driving pleasure and taking bumps like a champ. End of the day, if you just want a have it all car with good tech, powerful engine, and like the overall design, go for it. If you can live without the ADAS features and want a real 7 seater (ofcourse Safari has no boot space while being a 7 seater but atleast the seats are usable unlike the XUV700) with kick-ass performance and a premium feel of a car, I mean the feeling of spending almost 26 lacs, hit the Tata button. Service is hit or miss with them though. No idea about Mahindra's service. Just drive the Safari. You'll know what the OMEGA Architecture is all about. And this nonsense about vocal for local is bogus. Both Tata and Mahindra use Chinese components. Almost 30% in the case of Tata. Drive safe! Cheers.
Go for the Automatic AWD on XUV700. I know you want manual, but the automatic transmission car 🚙 has Manual mode as well. Wonderful video. Draw a lot of inspiration from your travel videos. Good to see your preference for manual version. One correction though - Tata Safari has a monocoque chassis unlike its previous avatar. You may try to adjust the steering position, your knee is unlikely to touch the console (from my exp as I drive Harrier manual). Try 'Sports mode' which uses the full BHP, and it will take away the heaviness that you experienced to certain extent.

Yes and we all in problem if we don’t take extended warranty. More electronics or more software tends to open to bugs and malfunction and lastly user has to shell out from his pocket. An old saying “Hanthi tab palo jab khilane ke paise ho). Definitely it’s a beast to be tamed with post sales cost.

Manish jee, why don't you go for Toyota Fortuner ? Agar SUV lena hi hai naya wala to Fortuner se achha aur badhiya aur kya hai indian market me ? U will feel like king inside Fortuner..
700 has one more demerit is it's door handle .. Door handle has motor which will need extra and service cost will increase .. As time goes.
Anyway if you plan to sell xuv500 then let me know sir, madam.. I am also software engineer working in one of the MNC and basically is from ur native state 😋
Yes and we all in problem if we don’t take extended warranty. More electronics or more software tends to open to bugs and malfunction and lastly user has to shell out from his pocket. An old saying “Hanthi tab palo jab khilane ke paise ho). Definitely it’s a beast to be tamed with post sales cost.
please take automatic version
Automatic AWD wont be good for extreme off road (Think Ladakh 😇 ) and manual ki hum sabki aadat hai :)
pallavi ba Safari loi lok borhiya lagise
Good video..XUV500 MT top end or Safari MT base? Plz assist
1st tym watching someone Who is prefering Manual above Automatic !
Think about your knee sir ;) hahaha
