    It took me a day or two opening a bank account in Hong Kong back when I was a teacher there fresh out of college. It took me another day or two to open a bank account in Mexico as a 'temporary resident.' I don't think either permit people on a tourist visa to open an account. I needed proof of residency in both circumstances.

    Future video idea: can you address the issue I've had where I opened an account & deposited some money, just to have some savings in a foreign jurisdiction. But they insisted that they needed some account activity in it at least every 2 years (again, I have no need to use that account, it's just a hedge). Once 2 years passed, it became a "dormant" account.
    I wouldn't want to have to metaphorically spin plates with multiple accounts around the world.

But I also know you have said w the fees and things needed it just isn’t worth it if you have less then 500k in your bank account. Can you please do a video on this. Thanns

    What are your views on something like N26 bank. I have recently used it for travel, around Europe and even in South Africa. I downloaded the app scanned my passport and got the card a week later. I don’t pay for the account and they don’t seem to charge me for international swiping. Also how does a bank like this make any money?

    I don't understand the reason for offshore banking.
    Neobanks can be done anywhere, online and you can set up your account in minutes with zero paperwork.
    Most have zero atm fees, offer competitive interest rates and allow you to invest in foreign currencies.
    Are there some kind of tax incentives to opening a physical bank account overseas?

    • @pbubalo
      @pbubalo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @m Most banks in the world have CRS, regardless of if they are Neobanks or bricks and mortar

    • @pbubalo
      @pbubalo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @m Try Eastern Europe.
      As far as I know, most of those countries aren't a part of CRS.
      But this is only a problem if youre a US citizen.

    Walking down the main street of Bamako,Mali,it was surprising how many big named banks have a presence there,while round the corner things are less than impressive.Perhaps they have a secret.
    Many of my bosses pay me,working and cleaning for them in London,on accounts from Mali banks.
